Monopoly: Here & Now Worldwide Edition

Guildford, UK – April 23, 2008 – The Casual Entertainment Label of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) today released additional details on MONOPOLY (working title), the first Hasbro-branded video game set to launch on next-generation consoles including Wii™ and the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system. MONOPOLY will also be appearing on the PLAYSTATION®2 computer entertainment system as well as mobile phones and Pogo.com™. The multiplatform video game is inspired by Hasbro’s highly anticipated MONOPOLY HERE & NOW: The World Edition board game. Currently, the MONOPOLY video games are set to release this year simultaneously with the global launch of the new board game.

The MONOPOLY video games promise a fresh take on the timeless classic with accessible gameplay for players of all ages and skill levels. The all-new digital gaming edition brings a party twist and features 4-player simultaneous play, ensuring that everyone is engaged and allowing the whole family to get involved in the fun and play together. Faster gameplay eliminates downtime freeing up players to wheel and deal their way through some of the most recognizable cities and landmarks from around the world. Families can fill up their passports as they try to unlock new and never-before-seen game boards or challenge each other to fun interactive mini-games like breaking out of the jail cell and running away with all the loot. Play in offline single or multi-player mode and compete to own it all and win!

Editor's Note: Full game??? Arcade game??? This isn't clear yet but surely they can't sell it as a retail game. Who knows? Have a screen and you be the judge.

	im actually excited about this, always liked monopoly so should be good. i think itll be better as an arcade game but will probably be a big file and cost the same as xbox origonal. theyre going to milk this for all its worth.

	EA does make some quality games sometimes guys.....Not everything they make is bad. Have some faith. I think this will be good. How can you possibly mess up a Monopoly game?

	I would have been willing to say pay 5 or so bucks to get Monopoly as a LIVE arcade game. Kinda like Uno. But as a full retail release this is gonna cost 30 bucks minimum so pass...

	i just checked the monopoly website and it says that the monopoly here and now: world edition board game is being released sometime in august... so i figure this'll be released sometime in august or september? this could actually be a full game, because I mean, look at Lights, Camera, Action! that game was from a board game too, right? so you never know

	It'll be OK as long as it has short loading screens etc. Can never be sure with EA - they fixed The Godfather, they stood up for Mass Effect, but they still produce bilge and putrid bong water for games.

	I remember playing Monopoly years ago...ah the days of landing on Cyan 3 with a hotel on it. Is it possible you'll be able to create your own version? Maybe "Cyan 3" is just the default name and you can rename it whatever you want.

	Hopefully i'll be XBLA. if it is retail, hopefully you can customize the board and themes etc, such as Star Wars Monopoly, or Simpsons monopoly etc, like all the ones you can buy it the shops. Complete waste of time really, but might be quite cool!

	If it's XBLA, I'll only buy it if it's $5. Unless it's a much more full featured game with complete customization, including colors, names, graphics (a la Forza livery editor), in which case I can see paying up to $30 for a full 1000 point title. Of course, you'd need full XBL support for these custom boards, as well as good options for rule changes, etc.

	Im thinking its gotta be a full retail game, since its coming out for multiple platforms, most of which dont offer DLC (ps2). so its got to be a full retail. but maybe it'll have a decent price point? Then again, tetris came out as a full retail game also, and sold for more then a platinum hit. I passed on that one, and if this one is in the same line, ill pass on it as well.

	I think it'll be a retail game. It seems like they're trying to make the video game the equivalent to the board game (including price) and I bet the new board game will be around 30-40 dollars. Its probably going to come in a fancy case.

	Nice, this looks like a pretty fun game. I played the first one on my original Xbox and it was AWESOME. Honestly, this looks like a retail game to me and I wonder how they are going to make the achievement list?

	My guess is that it will be a retail considering that Wii and PS2 are getting it also, and it is stated as a multi-console release. Pretty sure it will be a retail title. It is surely a must have when it arrives! Hope it has live capability though for 4 players :P

	unfortunately it looks like retail i think. on xbla geting online multiplayer games wouldnt be too hard buti doubt that many ppl are gonna buy it retail and be online wanting a game at the same time. too many other gmes out now. i think hasbr will shoot emselves in the foot with a retail release as few ppl are gonna buy dl content. as an xbla game heaps will buy it and play rgularly and buy dl content. still waiting for talisman tho. and risk on xbla!

Own every property on one side/two sides of the board Earn over x amount in one game Have a hotel on all your properties Go round the board without landing on any property Or maybe Win 10 online games Win 100 online games Win 1,000 online games Win 10,000 online games Play this game for 1,000 hours
