Second Sonic CD Trailer Takes Us Back

Remember 1993, when things were so much simpler and Jurassic Park was the biggest movie of all time? Well, soon you'll be able to relive one very small, specific part of 1993 when Sonic CD comes to the Xbox Live Arcade, bringing one of the only reasons anyone bothered to buy a SEGA Mega-CD. The other reason was Final Fight.

SEGA has sent us a new trailer for Sonic CD today, to help invoke a bit of misty-eyed nostalgia for those who remember it and possibly instil a bit of excitement for those who don't.

Either way, you'll be able to travel back through time, "fight the past, save the future" and see where Sonic 4 apparently began, when Sonic CD launches on XBLA later this year.

Am I one of the only people who didn't actually like CD? Tried it on the Mega CD and Gems Collection years later but just didn't like it.

I love Sonic, but just don't like CD.

Mmmm so is this gonna be Sonic Boom or Toot toot Sonic Warrior? It's the real question since we can have either have the best Sonic ever, or the best Sonic ever WITH the best Sonic OST ever. (The jazzy music during the Metal Sonic stage is just... perfect.)

@10 You're getting "You Can Do Anything" (to give its true title).
Sega have cited licensing issues about the US soundtrack by Spencer Nilsen.
They are apparently looking into solutions, which would likely mean DLC as an alternative soundtrack later on.
Probably at a premium price to cover said licensing issues.

Another XBLA Sonic game to be added to my collection!

I have never played Sonic CD in my life and I sure as hell can't wait to play it. I own all current Sonic XBLA games (except for Sonic 4 because it's too pricey).

Sonic CD and Final fight were The Greatest Of the Sega CD games. All the other games were garbage Live action games that dont Deserve to even be Talked about.

@15 Popful Mail, Snatcher, Shining Force CD, Android Assault, Lunar (1 and 2) etc. There's more, and the genres are varied beyond FMV games. Please quit making assumptions.

I enjoyed Sonic CD, but what they really should add that would really make it great would be an unlockable level select with an option to select whatever time period you want. Who's with me?

Sonic CD was one of the few games I didn't beat. Cause the time stones were so confusing to get...

Yeah, only Sonic CD and Final Fight CD mattered. Forget Shining Force CD, Silpheed, both Lunars, the remastered-audio Ecco the Dolphins... ;)

@3 I agree with you 100%. I played Sonic CD on Sonic Gems Collection and I really wasn't that impressed. I don't understand why so many herald it as the greatest Sonic game ever.

@15 i beg to differ. nightvisions was really cool. staring dana plato from different strokes.

you had to protect her & friends from the vampires. via using traps. ummm maybe it was called night trap. but you get the idea.

sega cd hsd some good games including the top talked about boxing game that was black & white. looked like raging bull & was awesome! you played as honeyboy. prize fighter i think it was called. then you had some starwars games. including starwars battle chess. best chess game ever!

i could fill this whole thread on great sega cd games!
