Burnout CRASH!

EA Slaps a Launch Date and Price on Burnout CRASH!

We have a lot of time for Burnout's crash junctions, so a game full of them should be right up our street. During our hands-on with Burnout CRASH! at Gamescom, we happily found the game to be a lot of fun and definitely worth a punt when it releases on the Xbox Live Arcade.

Tentatively slated for an August release, Criterion's XBLA Burnout title will be bringing its 18 crash junctions, with several game modes, Autolog and Kinect support on September 21st for a most reasonable price of just 800 Microsoft Points.

Not bad for something that ought to provide a good few hours of exploding fun. We'll have a hands-on preview of Burnout CRASH! in the next few days.

Looks like dash of destruction. That shit was free and they wanna charge 10bucks for this? Looks terrible. Thumbs up for EA milking another franchise and degrading it even more. They're back on the road to following Activision's footsteps.

Im not really into it. But I think it looks cool and has a very good price. If i was into burnout more i would defiantly get it.

I saw this announced ages ago, and was excited about it. Then I saw the screens and realised it was top down instead of traditional burnout...and that dampened my enthusiasm somewhat.

Now...if they updated and re-released Burnout 3....

Anywho - instead of being an instant purchase I'll probably mess about with the trial for a bit. I'm sure I'll still pick it up :)

@4 Dash of Destruction's main premise was a dinosaur chasing Dorito vans. How does Burnout's celebrated and highly unique crash mode as a standalone game comapre to that?

This game reminds me of Motor City Patrol for NES back in 1992. The only difference is you drive a police car. Not sure if I would buy Burnout CRASH but it would be nice to have a demo to give it a try first.

@11, it's an Arcade game, so it'll definitely have a demo version.

I remember when this mode was the only reason I played Burnout. What have they done to it. This looks like old GTA not Burnout, and to make matters worse it is Kinect. I pass. I will save my money for a full title not this game.

@14 - You don't have to play it with Kinect, y'know.

They chose to release it the day after Gears 3 comes out? That's not gonna help their sales.

Yeah, I know it is an arcade game.

It's sort of like open world GTA similar to GTA London (PS1) and again, Motor City Patrol (NES).

I'll probably pass, unless the demo is addictiong. I don't know, part of me has a hard time seeing this as Burnout after the other games in the series.

#3- Yes it was! EA has been hard at work ALL NIGHT preparing this announcement, and finally at 4AM they were ready to tell everyone.

Meanwhile, Richard Walker, who recently moved to the US solely for early morning gaming announcements like this one, was faaaaassst asleep when his pager went off; "beep beep beep -Burnout Crash Announced for September 21st and 800 MSP-". He rubbed his eyes briefly then BOUNCED into action, jumping to his bedside laptop and whipping up the article within 2 minutes of EA's early morning briefing.

You should have seen him at his wedding day when they announced DLC for Bomberman Live. They stopped the whole thing and sent the guests home so we could get the article on Bomb Up Pack 3 the instant it was announced. THE VERY INSTANT IT WAS ANNOUNCED!!! Just like every article on every gaming site...

Lol, you being serious? Or was I the only one who had the Dinosaurs chasing me on Burnout revenge?
It actually looks pretty fun from a gaming perspective, if not a little disappointing from a Burnout perspective... but at least this destroys the notion that the franchise is 'Done'.

4, my thoughts exactly. It makes me not so interested in the game, especially not for 800MSP. That game was free, and justifiably so. lol
