i'll try the demo for a laugh, but with the rest of the good games to buy in the next few months, i guess i ain't buying this. |

I thought I'd download this and give it a go. Rather than say it's "crap" I'll write my thoughts.
Graphically, this game is not going to win any prizes. I've not played any Codemasters games lately, but when you see the engine is called "EGO", you expect something pretty special from it but I wasn't wowed by any standard. The colours also look a bit weird for my taste, but at least it's a change from your typical shooter.
Movement was pretty standard from a shooter of this calibre. I really enjoyed the movement from the position you're in when you hold in the LT. Great for firing at enemies from cover. It was a lot easier to aim than other fps games I've played.
The AI isn't as strong as I would of liked. I breezed through the demo without any real effort. One of the enemies even blew himself up with a grenade! Enemies at distance seem to stand and do nothing and you can shoot them without incident.
Crap? I wouldn't go that far. In fact, half way through I was enjoying myself, and would of liked to have played another level. The experience was over far too quick.
Day 1 purchase? For me, probably not. But I'd certainly consider picking it up when it's dropped in price.

| Im jumping back to Call of juarez the cartel again imo its a much better game then this crap. Explosions is fun but not every 5 second. Controll is also crap kinda like turningpoint. |

| Honestly not worth the download, aiming is horrible (though I like the movement and the aiming system). Graphics are awful, as are the frame rates which jump around too much. Feels like bulletstorm... just nowhere near as polished or good. If anything it's pushed me to getting Bulletstorm :P |

Codemasters didn't make BLACK, that was Criterion Games and EA who published it.
I agree with #20 for the most part, but I also hated the aiming and movement. The graphics was the worst part. The demo looked nothing like the trailers and everything else.
Bulletstorm actually looks BETTER than this game. Unreal Engine > EGO.
I'll still get this game but I doubt I'll play it much if the full game looks anything like this demo. |

| Codemasters should stick to rally games, that's what they're best at. Every attempt at shooter, be it arcade or realistic turns out pretty crap. queued up the demo and will defo try, but I know I won't be geting this one... |

i liked this game (even though im the 1 of 29 people who liked this game)
i dont expect much from games in general i like the suprise and i have a simple taste in games guns blood explosions etc just simple shooters and by far the best game i have ever played is call of duty black ops but it was a choice beetween this and deus ex and i have chosen this i have downloaded the demo which some people giving their opinions havent actually done if anyone has seen dirt 3 they know this game has good graphics yes its quite slow but you are carrying a gun a big hunk of metal with little pieces of metal inside, the sound was terrific very loud and intense and the music made me goosebump with satisfaction :P it seems like everyone played into this game like call of duty run n gun style and because its a bit slower than most its been panned unlike the games i didnt like mostly games with swords in but i thought dragon age was 10x slower than this and it got praised :/ thats what i dont like overcomplicated games that remove fun for story thats a bit backwards in my opinion thats why i like call of duty the story was superb and it was fast and fun, and the reason why i keep mentioning this is because its my fave game and thats the game that many 1st person shooters rip off and its the 1st person shooter that everyone expects 1st person shooter to be like
im getting this game day 1 because i like it and that is the comment people wwant to read when they go on a certain game :) (m-o) |

LMAO, sorry for the negativity, gents, but I played this game for all of 45 seconds before it got a permanent pass from me. About 25 seconds into the game, I said, "Wow... these graphics look like they belong on the PSP." About 35 seconds into the game, I said, "Wow, these controls are terrible. And what's with looking at the side of the gun when you're trying to aim down the sight?" About 45 seconds in, I said, "Wow. I'm dead. The demo is over. And that certainly was an ordeal."
Honestly, I'm just glad that I got to play a demo of a game that will turn out to be a piece of shit. I bought Homefront on impulse and it was the worst $60 I've ever spent. Glad Bodycount won't be another Homefront in that I won't own it. |
