| I absolutely loved Borderlands, even though it fell short on a few things. Gearbox seems to really listen to it's customers, so I have no doubt that Borderlands' shortcomings will be completely resolved when the sequel rolls around. |

Im happy they are making a sequel but seriously? Pandora again? the whole premise of the first game was that Pandora was a kind of backwater planet and the only thing of worth about the planet was the mysterious vault, apart from that the planet is meant to be a wasteland.
First game was great gameplay wise but the story was rubbish, i hope Gearbox somehow improve the story this time. |

There was apparently something at the end of the last DLC said which implies interplanetary (knew there was a word for what I was looking for..!) travel. I'd rather not know what it is (want to play it for myself), but as #73 says, the only appeal to Pandora was the vault.
They said that it's going to be "an ambitiously crafted story", but suddenly realising that there's actually another legend that nobody mentioned in the first game would seem cheap.
200 years having passed since the first game, and the new protagonists going after the vault would Definitely not be a good plot to base a story around.
I'm guessing that the opening of the Vault results in peculiar new occurrences around the planet that weave in these new mercenaries. There could be some sort of loose end in the latest DLC that I haven't found yet, either.
Oh well. Given that they said themselves exactly on announcement that they're aiming for 'an ambitiously crafted story', I guess they have something that could hopefully make it work. Here's to hoping. |

@75 Marcus mentions a planet named "Eden 6" I think at the end of Clap Trap Revolution.
Maybe it will start on Pandora and you move onto a new planet that might be kind of cool so you start with a little bit of the familiar to get your feet wet and then they throw you for a loop with a while new environment. |

| I have a little over 17 days of playtime on Borderlands. It was great fun till that last patch came out and broke some stuff. Then Gearbox removed the tech/bug section from the Borderlands forums after they released the last patch so you could not report bugs anymore. Now there are claptrap missions that give no reward at all and most of the explosives (mines, gas tanks, barrels, etc) are missing in Playthrough 2.5. Gearbox knows the patch caused issues but they are not going to fix it. My copy of Borderlands is now a dust collector and I'll not be giving Gearbox anymore of my money. Trick me once shame on you, trick me twice shame on me. |

I put it on the bottom of my list of games on gamefly cause I heard some good thing about it and every other game on my list was taken so they sent me borderlands. I hope there's more of a story this time, and a proper ending with loot to match. You shouldn't be handing out weak as piss stuff as a reward for killing your end of game boss. Lose the arena battles too (and never release DLC as awful as Moxxi again).
Awesome game otherwise. Put over 100 hours into it. |

Finally!
I've been waiting for this news since I 100% Borderlands!
I hope there's some sort of Limited Edition, maybe with a Claptrap statue! =D (not like Duke Nukem Forever's LE, more like GoW3's Epic Edition, which it is a pretty big statue)
I hope my wish comes true lol
Anyways, awesome, can't wait to know when this masterpiece will be released!

Man, I don't want to play as a midget (not that there's anything wrong with that). But I am super stoked about this. Love the original and can't wait for more Gearbox comedy gold!

| @118, You misunderstood my earlier post. If I add the playtime of each character (the time played that is on the save file) it totals just over 17 days. I have all the DLC and all the achievements. Borderlands was like the only game I played for like 3 months. Don't get me wrong I got my money's worth out of it. I'm just really upset with Gearbox that they released the level scaling patch (that I saw no point for) that added the bugs I mentioned earlier then just abandoned the game. |
