| I was never a big fan of the True Crime series of games. Square Enix picking this up could open it up to a whole new audience though. We will wait and see what they do with this. |

| I dont understand the point...its not going to be a True Crime game since Activision still owns the IP...so this is going to be a True Crime rip off since the game is practically done, just gonna have a new name?? |

wait ... true crime.... bah, never played the originals, but i did see them being played, and they looked pretty poor (not as poor as the guy who was playing it said it was overall, but poor, dodgy controlls etc) will give it a miss unless they've totally revamped it, making the combat more involving, and varied would be a great start (don't know about the storyline, i didn't pay much attention, never do, unless it's an RPG) i'll try the demo if they do one for it, if not, i ain't buying it, no chance, i've seen what happens with games that don't get demo's, they're often very poor |

@5 It won't be a ripoff, considering the game was being developed as True Crime: Hong Kong, then Activision cancelled it. So Square, being the company they are, decided that they would pick it up and publish it under a new title and hope for a commercial success. In short, it will feel like True Crime, because it was. |

@ 11. Why would you mention Final Fantasy especially when its an RPG and True Crime is a Open World game. @ 17. Square published the new Kane & Lynch because they own Eidos, which is why they did Tomb Raider and Deus Ex. @ 19. Agreed. @ 23. True Crime wasn't a big money make and Hong Kong didn't interest that many people, which thats why Activision dropped it. Companies have done that with a lot of titles inclluding the switch of Publishers or Developers. I beleive Square acquired it because of the Asian market would be very interested in this title. @ 30. I see some Fanboy Rage while you can talk when you know why Companies drop products that don't make that much profit, which you can look at Red Faction: Armageddon. |

| This is excellent news! Not only does TC:HK have a chance of coming out now, which I approve of, it's also not gonna be an Activision title which is even better!! This is the best thing that could've happened to the franchise and Square's won a lot of respect for saving the hard work, time and energy the developers have spent on this game. |

As for this game, I'm glad to see it actually is going to be made after all and if it's anything close to as good as the original I will definitely be picking it up |

| Why is everyone talking shit? The new one isn't even being made by the same developer. It's being made by the people who made the phenomenal Mod Nation Racers for the PS3 and PSP. So why is everyone talking so much shit over it before they even play it? Square Enix had to have seen something good in it to pick it up. |

@ 50. I guess you missed him saying that was a joke. @ 51. You do realise that you shouldn't blame Activision because there was barely a fanbase that was going to support that game, which most Companies would do to a product. Either way its going to be a new game while Sqaure grabbed the rights for the Asian market. |

Forum Posts: 659 | Comment #55 by Blueprotoss Tuesday, August 02, 2011 @ 06:03:55 AM
@ 53. Buying the rights of a game from another Company is a gamble especialy from an okay franchise based on the fanbase, which that isn't commonsense. @ 54. Why would Activision regret it when this isn't going to be a True Crime game and that series didn't do that well anyways. |

| I'm glad to know that it will see the light of day now. I loved True Crime: Streets of LA I think it was, on the Cube, had some fun driving and combat mechanics, stuff that even Rockstar should consider (ahem GTA...). Time to start saving up another 50 yoyo's... :S |

Losing the True Crime name is probably a good thing, given its history. The first game was bland, and the second was apparently full of game-breaking bugs. It's good to see the devs work go rewarded, although it remains to be seen how good the game actually is. |
|

Forum Posts: 26 | Comment #58 by Swegabe Tuesday, August 02, 2011 @ 09:41:43 AM
| @ 55. Because unlike previous True Crime games, this one looked really good and had a big dose of originallity Activision games seriously lack these days. |
|

Forum Posts: 659 | Comment #59 by Blueprotoss Tuesday, August 02, 2011 @ 02:03:09 PM
@ 57. I doubt the Devs got rewarded because Square Enix would still need to alternate the game like maybe remaking it to avoid legal issues. @ 58. You can judge a game on a trailer while you can't trully judge it until you play it. Activision or any other Company isn't lacking from originality while you forget that the Gaming Industry is a Business, which means that they won't release a game without a fanbase and that happened with True Crime. |
