| I was a huge fan of Timesplitters 2. I'll wait for the reviews on this, if the multiplayer is done well enough though it could hopefully rival Halo and COD in that market. I for one am beginning to come a little bored with the repetitiveness of them both, albeit they are great games. |

| I know a lot of Timesplitters fans didn't like Future Perfect but I really, really enjoyed it, so I do hope 4 is a sequel to it and not a reboot/new storyline. My fingers are crossed this is gets announced. :D |

To be honest, I loved every single one of the Timesplitters games, though I personally think that the first one flowed the best.
I just really hope that they don't forget what made the series great. Given the different people behind the game, I fear it could definitely take more of a turn for the mainstream, such as Halo, or Call of Duty.
I'm not even saying that those games are bad by any means, but that's not what Timesplitters is all about.
Also, what's the betting they call it 'Tymesplitters'? '>_> |

@10 Free Radical made the horrible Haze for PS3, went bankrupt, and became Crytek UK, if I remember correctly.
I really hope this happens. I still remember playing my squad mates Future Perfect in Afghanistan, and fragging each other till the sun came up. |

Well, that comment almost made sense. They mentioned on this site that it might be coming for next-gen consoles (though I doubt they're actually going to go ahead and call it the 720). Though that, like this, is not an official statement. Both could be completely untrue rumours. |

| Hmm i wonder if they'll show some gameplay when they announce it. As i've read before TS4 is being developed for next generation, so that way we're gonna see how games of next gen might look like. I hope the MP will be as good as in previous games. |

@16 - I think the devs actually confirmed they were making it for next-gen consoles.
That being the news that was, as you say reported on this site. I'm pretty sure it stated they confirmed it for next gen.
Big fan of the series, so lets hope its 360 and it's soon. |

I remember telling my friends Timesplitters was better than Halo (The 1st one where MP was local only). They all said I was mad.
But for me Timesplitters 2 and 3 were the best MP games I ever played.

@34, no, it's still in there, it's the invisible man / timesplitters crossover porno, haven't you heard about it ?
a few things i'm hoping for from TS4
1. an unlockable monkey outfit for my avatar, or at least a head / mask
2. it to be like any of the previous games (preferably the original, but the others were good too)
3. a return of the challenges, they added so much to the first game (without them it could be seen as shallow, and short. as long as it doesnt have the docks level where you had to shoot the ducks, i'll pwn it)
personally, i doubt this will be a straight to next gen game (meaning ps4 / x720) it would be able to use the cryengine 3, and work perfectly fine on current consoles. if not, it involves creating a whole new engine, and therefore spending at least 2 more years on the game. now personally i would have thought they are a little further down the production than that.
i can't remember the full story of when FR went under, so i have no idea how much work they had done on the game at that point, or if it was just a table (desktop) full of ideas |

It had better be soon! And fingers crossed the "not til the next console generation" myth is a lie! It's been far too long since we heard the rallying cry, "IT'S TIME TO SPLIT!"
Oh, and @39, Free Radical only went under a few years back. They had enough work done on TS4 that there were full-page spreads about it before they got taken in to Crytek. If you google TimeSplitters 4, you should be able to find the pictures of Jo-Beth Casey as a chainsaw-wielding nun along with all the other parody promotionals they made. |

| You know, as great as the the other games were, I'm just bored with all this hype surrounding TS4. Either announce it or don't, but just friggin' do it either way. If this fanboyish hype rolls on for much longer TS4 will be another Duke Nukem Forever, and no-one wants that. |

@1: Modern Warfare topped the hell out of Timesplitters, you're right, but Timesplitters was amazing for its time, so I think they may have something up their sleeve to make it compete with the others; if the rumor turns out to be true at all.
I'm looking forward to it mainly because I went on eBay and got a copy of Future Perfect about a month before they shut down classic Xbox servers, only to discover that Future Perfect was one of the maybe 16 games that didn't have forward compatibility with the 360, lol.
