I really hope Far Cry III is what Far Cry II should have been.
What sounded like a great concept on paper unfortunately failed to execute well as a final product.
So far, based on both what I have seen and read, Far Cry III is heading in a positive direction.

| I liked FC2 even though I never got to finish it because my save corrupted 70% of the way through the game. Even with those problems I'm still looking forward to this game, I can't wait to see more of the island. |

I'm glad they're listening to their fans. Far cry 2 was just too ambitious, but it had lots of great ideas. I'm also glad to hear they are bringing fire back.

Seriously, you don't need to sign your post. That's what they have forum signatures for and your user name AND your linked gamertag if you've got one. That's 3 different ways of identifying you other than a stupid signature.
OT: I actually might take an interest in the franchise now that they seemed to have taken it up a notch.

LOL at all the people dumping on the guy for doing the comment signatures.
On topic, I am looking forward to Far Cry 3, I'm glad they're bringing back the actual colorful jungle aspect instead of the boring jungles and deserts of Far Cry 2, which had nothing to do with the originals in any way.

I hope my brand new AK doesn't explode after 3 mags used. The jamming after extended use was a neat touch, but for the gun to completely disintegrate was a tad ridiculous. Loved the ammo box idea, making it dangerous to go resupply was a great gameplay idea. Again can't wait for the map editor. I hope they add a lot more structures to play with. Just give us walls, windows, doors and floors and let us create our own buildings.

all i want to know is
how the fuck could they call it far cry 2, when it had fuck all to do with far cry
so, then, how can this be far cry 3....
personally i've never given the game a chance, was a big fan of the original, then 2 came out, my mate bught it, and i was shocked that nothing of far cry was in it, it was just some FPS in africa (or somewhere like that)
if this game isn't any closer to it, i'll just ignore this one aswell, it's like if they called red dead redemption, GTA 1830 instead |

| Far cry 2 did suck ass. It's like they said to themselves. Gee, we we're really successful on the first far cry, how can me make this one suck? I know how! Let's make it so it takes 200 hours to boost all the achievements in the game and not allow custom maps in ranked games. While we're at it let's make it so your rank resets in player matches. I think you might have some very shitty ideas there that I like, Bob. |

| This game will be using the cry engine so anyone whos played crysis knows that they have the best graphics on console and their engine is very smooth, i have very high hopes for this game and im positive crytek wont let us down. Thumbs up if you agree! |

Loved FarCry Instincts/Predator. FarCry 2 had nothing to do with the 1st. Wheres the crazy Dr. performing experiments with drugs? So it should have never been called "FarCry 2". FarCry 3 looks awesome though. Can't wait to play it even if it has nothing to do with the first or second game.

| The original Far Cry n on the terms of xbox 360, far cry instincts n predator one is still one of my fav. shooter game/games to jus pick up and play, i loved how the original was a superb shooter n had the sci-fi vibe of how you are infected n you can go beast mode, but then crytek left it to ubisoft n far cry 2 came out. yes the graphcis are at that time n still now one of the most gorgeous to hit consoles, and the world was epic, the gameplay was good, and the story was superb but it just wasnt Far Cry!! you didnt have the infected addition to the gameplay and no Maleria doesnt count thats just a shitty sickness that jus annoyed you lol. but overall i cant hate because far cry 2 was and is one of the best shooters on console, thats how a shooter should be, A epic world, smooth n fun n gritty n realistic gameplay n shooting, upgrades, plenty of side missions, amazing addictive n imeersive story n a slick plot. THATS HOW A SHOOTER SHOULD BE!! not call of duty where you just have a standard story and jus grab a gun n run threw n shoot your way to the conclusion. but FAR CRY 3 is looking AMAZING!! i cant wait, this is in my top 3 FPS games coming out, with Ghost Recon and Deus EX, NOW I HOPE THE MP WILL BE AS ADDICTIVE AS THE FIRST FAR CRY! |

They better not make it two millions miles long like Far cry 2. That was the biggest downfall for me. Number 2 was just like go here do this, go back here kill bad guys, go back here again, kill this guy, speak to nonchalant guy who gives you missions. REALLY!! it was so badly done, very boring simple missions, but graphics were a plus.
Lets just hope the make a nice huge world with better options ways and means of getting around the Far Cry 3 universe. |
