Kiwi rugby legend Jonah Lomu challenges you to a game of rugby in Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge, with a host of modes including Single Match Mode, Competition Mode, and a multi-year Career Mode as well as extensive help and Tutorial Mode options available for players unfamiliar with egg-shaped balls.

There's also 93 teams and 31 stadia in Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge, including official team and competition licenses for the All Blacks (obviously), the Qantas Wallabies, the USA Eagles, Tri Nations, Bledisloe Cup, Super Rugby teams, Aviva Premiership Rugby, TOP 14 Orange, RaboDirect PRO12, ITM Cup, and Ranfurly Shield. There's even the famous All Blacks 'haka' in there too.

Add to that the option to compete in local or online multiplayer with 4v4 matches over Xbox Live and the ability to create your own players or customise existing ones, as well as customisation options for teams and competitions, and Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge is looking like a pretty darn complete rugger experience.

Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge will be bringing its "dynamic presentation" to deliver "a true on-field rugby experience with enhanced replay angles, lifelike cut-scenes, rich sound, and real-time commentary from seasoned rugby commentators Grant Nisbett and Justin Marshall" when it launches in quarter 3 2011. Check out the gameplay trailer for a look at Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge in action.

I remember that too. I think it was in the world cup in 95..?? I don't follow Rugby but i'll watch a match if its on the tv but that moment mentioned is the single stand out memory i have of any Rugby match.

#6 Not quite. There is a rugby world cup game coming out on 26th August and this is yet to have a release date.

I'm waiting for JLRC though, hopefully it won't be too far behind.

COME ON YOU BATH!

@6&8 Also Richard Walker, I believe this is actually called All Blacks rugby challenge, I have seen the cover for this game here in New Zealand. The release date at this stage seems to be 28 August

here is a link which may also show the other rugby game coming out which is Rugby world cup 2011 http://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/Xbox-360/All-Blacks-Rugby-Challenge/9196852/?nt=1

Game looks really good and I can't wait for it.

Sorry to double post but couldn't edit last post, The reason some think this is called Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge is because the game features Jonah Lomu even though he is not a current player.

Awesome! I wasn't expecting two Rugby games in one year.

Can't wait to tear it up with the Waratahs.

It's got a different name in different territories.
It's All Blacks Rugby Challenge in New Zealand
Wallabies Rugby Challenge in Australia
Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge everywhere else.

Rugby World Cup 2011 is a separate game that will just have the world cup.
Rugby Challenge in it's various names will have 93 proper teams and 2 SIDHE (development) teams.

Confirmed competitions are
Aviva Premiership
ProRabo Direct Top 12 (previously Magners)
Orange Top 14 (French)
Ranfurly Shield
ITM Cup.

On top of this there are licences for the Aussie and NZ Super 15 teams so that is liable to be in there with badly named SA teams as the other 5.
It's also believed that the 20 world cup teams will be in there although only NZ and Aus have been confirmed.

They haven't announced any other competitions but with the teams available I'm anticipating a Heineken Cup and a world cup although they will be badly named.

You can also make your own competitions so can create Heineken Cup or World Cup.

There is no official release date yet. The 26th August is being put in by online retailers because they have to put a date up and it was expected before the world cup and that is also the release of the other game. I'm really hoping that the actual release date is either then or very soon afterwards.

By the way, I'm really excited for this game, can you tell?

@9 - It might be called All Blacks Rugby Challenge in some territories, but the PR we've received from the publisher for the game has it down as Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge.
