firstly @7 it has a lot of game files and super high res textures which xbox will not handle, so a cut down version could fit but not a regular one. also irony

From Kotaku - "South Korean game site Inven apparently contacted EA Korea, who supposedly confirmed the Xbox 360 version of Crysis, adding that the release date was TBA." |

| ive been planning on getting Crysis 1 at some point, sadly i didnt like Crysis 2 much, play it ocassionally but it didnt grip me. Multiplayer on MW2 was much better and I'm not even that big of a COD fan. I liked the demo but when I bought Crysis 2 I soon got bored :( |

Really? Maybe they should've released the 1st game well... 1st!!! I enjoyed Crysis 2 but I hate the fact I have Crysis 2 on Xbox 360 having not played the 1st.
Also, now that most people have played the second game, simply porting the original to Xbox 360 won't be enough I'm afraid... It would be similar to releasing the original Assassin's Creed after people have already played AC: Brotherhood. |

@ 20 - Uh no? Becuase Crysis was already released. You are aware that some games are on one console or the prior genre console and the sequel is on the current console?
The first Mercenaries is only on PS2 and Xbox OG. If they rereleased it on the Xbox OG or even (doubtfully) XBLA, would that make no sense too? What about Resident Evil 4 being on the prior gen and RE5 on the current gen BUT now they're releasing RE4 on XBLA...stupid right? (No). |

I do believe it was merely an example of how much sense it makes to port a prequel right after a sequel. Any sequel and prequel can fit the example.
To fit what you were thinking, maybe an example of porting Global Defense force to the 360 right after releasing EDF 2017 would fit (.. obscure reference.. EDF IA comes out soon and i have EDF on the mind..)

@ 15. I wouldn't believe any news from Kotaku until 5 more of the Gaming sites confirmed this. Either way I will still say that this is a Rumor because of the random South Korean company and this game would need a complete redesign.
@ 19. Lolz.
@ 21. It doesn't matter about the whole Assassins' Creed thing while that franchise wasn't a huge hit until the 2nd installment came out. His point was that people already played the sequel without playing the original, which that has happened with a lot of games and I try to avoid doing that myself.
@ 23. I would say releasing RE4 is stupid especially when the HD graphics didn't do that much while we already had 3 versions of it already like the Gamecube, PS2, and Wii. |

@ 26 - 1) Assassin's Creed was a virtual hit upon release. It wouldn't have won Best New IP (and still holds said title) without it. I just don't think everyone expected Ubisoft to address as many issues as they did as well as incorporate the whole RPG/Florins element.
2)Fan-wise - It's a great idea. Almost everyone wants the predecessor of some of their favorite franchises brought to the current gen. More than enough people went batshit about Halo CE rereleasing. It hasn't happend and won't but if FF7 rereleased, Square Enix would be seeing many many $$'s. Other than that, it's an obvious no brainer as to WHY they're releasing Crysis now - the original was a bitch to run. My previous comment about the HAL thing was partial joke. I know you needed one hell of a beastly PC just to enjoy the game.
Also, think about how many times the original RE and RE2 were released. At least 3 themselves, right? ANd if RE2 went to the XBLA as well, I guarantee it would be among the top purchases. |

I've played Crysis 1 so much more than Crysis 2.
It's just more fun, you have more freedom.
If they released it for xbox, I'd love to play it again, using different styles for achievements etc. :) |

Basically what I meant was, I don't like starting anything from the second episode/series/game. I also mean that if they were to simply port Crysis 1 in it's current/original state then it would underwhelm most people who have played & completed Crysis 2, due to features, gameplay elements and/or graphics not being the same standard as the sequel.
I merely used Assassin's Creed as an example because look how far the series has come since the original game. It was and still is a great game but if the 1st game was PC only, Brotherhood was released on Xbox 360 then they decided to release the original after we've experienced all the refinements in AC:B, AC1 would be relatively poor in comparison.
I'm tryin to explain this as best I can but it definately makes sense to me (or no sense as it were). For those who say my comment doesn't make sense as Resi 4 was on PS2 and 5 on PS3, that is a completely natural progression.
Bringing out The Fellowship of the Ring after releasing Return of the King however, is not, if you catch my drift? |

| Nice, played Crysis 1 to death on the PC and I think it's awesome, don't see the problem a lot of gamers have with it, aside from the system requirements, the gameplay is solid in my opinion and overall is a better game than Crysis 2. |

| @ #20 - Honestly, nothing stopped you from going out and getting the first Crysis. This is a clear case of Microsoft, EA, and/or Crytek seeing the positive critical reception and significant sales of Crysis 2 and looking to make some money by releasing the first game. I haven't played any of the games in the series, and to be honest, I may not ever play them. However, if Crysis 1 and maybe Warhead come to XBLA, that's a good move for all of the companies involved. The game(s) are already made, and they just need a quick development cycle to adapt the controls and maybe a few other things. |

| Got the first Crysis on launch and I loved it a lot.. was hard to get in a good game though but when everyone knew what they were doing it was amazing online. Hopefully they keep the visuals similar to Crysis since they are probably using Crysis 2's engine. |

Second it is a fact that the PC is technicaly better then an xbox 360 or PS3 (as their hardware is around 6 - 7 years old now (not getting into wars here just stating)). Now the most important fact, some modern day computer still cannot run Crysis 1 on high and this is what people as saying is how much it will have to be toned down in order for it to work on the xbox 360 or PS3. |

@ 34. Assassins' Creed was a big hit while you forget that most people of the fans haven't played it because of AC2 especially when we're talking about PC users. People usually don't grab the 1st installments of games until its critically acclaimed or has a sequel while we have done that, which means you should stop bitching and being a Hypocrite.
@ 68. Don't forget that you can upgrade your PC specs without damaging it.
@ 70. I doubt that Crysis would be remade or be released especially when no console to date could handle it. |

I'd be interested to see how CryEngine2 could be fitted on the console's hardware...
Since it wasn't designed with console in mind, maybe they are thinking of a remake with CryEngine 3???
Though more honestly I think it's just a wild rumour and absolutely nothing substantial. Probably more likely an expansion pack for Crysis 2 (this is just my wishful thinking hoping to find out more about Nomad and Psycho.) But it would be nice to have both Crysis on the 360. Just my opinion. |
