I guess this is alright. I don't know. When I see things like this it reminds me of kids on the xbox forums with inflated gamerscore/egos saying "I'd rape you at any game, but I won't play with you unless you have over 100k". With that being said, I think you should hire people based off of work experience, not a fake number like every other game company has been for the past 30 years. |

| From personal experience I can tell you it's a two way street while he may say he would look for someone with 20,000 plus it's also likely they will turn away those with 200,000 I've been told I must be kind of a loser fir having the gamerscore I have by multiple industry people. My gamertag is no longer on my gaming based jobs resume. Your honestly better off to just leave that out of it entirely. |

lol, what if said applicant was a PS3 owner, would they go through the trophies and see if it totalled 20,000 worth of achievements, or do they not want anybody who has a ps3 just curious, i own both now, and still haven't turned on my ps3, my 58k (ish) should be fine though :P shame i'm too lazy to care ;) |

This must be the dumbest thing I have heard. I know coming from someone like me it sounds stupid, but I also play on PS3 and even more on PC, so even if I had 5K from say 360 excllusives I would still have more gaming knowledge than say guy that has those 20K. This dude should check his head, seriously.... |

| I could see this statement coming from someone who works at Microsoft's Xbox division, but from someone at EA is ridiculous. It's also ridiculous that someone with 20,000 is considered a gamer that has checked out the competition. If he said 20,000 gamerscore from racing games only, it'd be credible as that is not an easy feat, but to have overall 20,000 is achievable in just 2-3 days given the right games. I've gotten 6000 in 5 hours on my friend's profile using a US Xbox and Japan Xbox (and this was not even using Avatar: TLA) |

Notice the "pertaining more to games developers having a passion for video games, rather than simply having an inflated gamerscore." Not to call anyone out, but I know a handful of people who are 100k gs+ players that don't really seem to enjoy video games much at all, and certainly don't have a passion for them. They've just become hooked on getting more gamerscore. |

That's kind of closed minded. I've got 55,000, but only 1 hundred something in Shift... mostly, cause it's a shit SIM game... I HATE SIM racers. So, would I get taken over some guy with 8,000, but all 8,000 in NFS games and racers? I hope not. Eh, they can keep their job, I've got my sights set higher. :D |

| I agree, you would want someone who plays a lot of games. Not just for score, but games for their story and their game play. You'd want someone who knows what works and what didn't...and why it didn't...easy way to see if a game was crap check someones gamer score. I mean if they liked the game , chances are they at least finished it and tried to get a lot of the achievements...if they didn't they either felt the challenge of the achievements were too tough...or didn't like that said game. I don't do a games extra achievements if I don't feel the game is fun. I wont go the extra mile to get 1000/1000 if they are really really tough either simply because its a way to relax not get totally stressed out, you want your players to enjoy them selves and buy the sequel, not microwave their copy of the game... |

| Achievements don't really reflect how good you are at a game, for example my friend has 1000g for call of duty 4,5,6 and 7 but i am much better than him, I just can't be bothered with zombies or campaigns on veteren |

I understand where these guys are coming from, I studied at Qantm doing a Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment- Majoring in Games Design and i found that 75% of the people studying games hardly played games if not at all. That makes me sad and scared for the future of gaming. Its no wonder there are so many games that fail there potential and it usually comes down to the fact that some of the people who make these games dont have the passion for games nor the knowledge of what makes games go from mediocre to memorable. I think more companies should have this policy as I believe it betters the chances for a greater game. |

Wow. A high gamerscore is just as reflective on how long you're had an account and how many games you've played as it is on your skill or passion about gaming. They should really be looking to see that you've earned some difficult achievements, rather than just lots of crappy ones. But, hell, that's just me, I guess. I never understood the appeal of buying crap games for the sole purpose of getting 1000 points if I wont even enjoy earning them. |

| 20k is not too high though. They should look at other things as well like completion ratio, types of games played, longevity. The number itself means very little. |

| It's nothing wrong. They only want to see what kind of games the person play, Surely there will be tons of more things but It ain't anything wrong to see someone's Xbox, PSN or Steam account to see what they play and like |
