| @15. I agree, they went way over the top with the collectables. The manuscripts were fine though as they were linked to the story and had a proper purpose. The first game was great, although I hope this time they find a way to make the combat a bit less repetitive. |

Game is really good But the DLC can go suck monkey balls. This should have better stayed just the base game. Anyway I'd prefer to leave some mysteries to Alans story I'd rather see another character in a different setting but with a sameish story with writing becoming reality and stuff which can also answer a few questions if you derive that to Wakes story. Liked the character and setting but this kinda feels complete and doing a direct sequel will take away some of its majesty. |

Honestly, how could there not be an Alan Wake sequel? A. It was a brilliant game, and the ending is ripe for a sequel with no gimmicks or spoilers B. The end of the credits clearly states that "Alan Wake's journey through the night will continue" C. Everything about the game is ripe for a series, but in a good way, not like the Halo franchise >_> The characters are awesome, the story is awesome, the settting, the enemies, and just about everything else is a good target for expansion =D P.S. If Alan Wake 2 (or whatever it will be called) does come out, they should have new enemies like Taken dogs and wolves, and have a stage where you're trapped in a building, and the building itself is a Taken, and you need to activate 4 generators on all side to kill it =D Wouldn't that be awesome? |

| Im going to get so much shit for this but I really dont care. In my opinion Alan Wake is no where near as good as people pretend it is. In fact Alone in the Dark did everything Alan Wake did and more but better and 2 years earlier. They both feature an episodic style breakdown and the idea of using light as a weapon. Thats about it. Alone in the Dark takes it one step further with the ability to combine weapons and items, an open world setting, a more engrossing story, more horrifying moments, more diverse enemy types, and more ways to dispose of them, among other things. Yes Alone in the Dark was a commercial failure. So was Dark Sector and that is still one of the best games I have played on 360. Just because games dont get the attention of so called "blockbusters" doesnt mean they are bad games. Its ok for everyone to say Castlevania is a complete rip off God of War even though Castlevania has been a franchise before the idea of GoW was even concieved but as soon as you compare Alan Wake to Alone in the Dark there is no comparison because AitD is a "terrible" game. Well Id rather play Castlevania and Alone in the Dark any day. My point is Alan Wake is definitely not the best game ever. Its actually one of the worst games Ive played this generation. Deadly Premonition was more entertaining. Yeah it is pretty to look at but the gameplay is shallow and repetitive and the story did nothing to captivate me in any way... thats really about all Alan Wake has. It is not a bad game by any means but when you put a game on a pedestal you should be able to back it up and people put Alan Wake on a HUGE pedestal. One that it does not live up to. You most likely dont agree with me and thats okay. |

Imo this game was very overrated, it had nothing that the first silent hill hasnt done better, and the story was overly convoluted. I think in this generation it is one of few games to attempt survival horror, but it was done better during other generations imo This will probably upset a lot of people here but it's just my opinion! |
