Metro: Last Light

Metro 2033 Sequel Confirmed As 'Metro: Last Light'

THQ CEO Brian Farrell confirmed the title of the next Metro game in an investor call yesterday evening, following the grim underground setting of Metro 2033 with 'Metro: Last Light', which will presumably feature more fierce irradiated subterranean mutants to fight in a dank, post-apocalyptic Russia.

Domain names 'Metro2033LastLight.com', 'MetroLastLight.com' and 'LastLightGame.com' registered last month hinted as much, but this confirmation now makes it official. Formerly, the game had been referred to as Metro 2034, but Metro: Last Light sounds a bit more catchy.

There are no further details on Metro: Last Light at present, but expect to hear more in the very near future, especially since THQ core games boss Danny Bilson has claimed that the game will be getting a "first-class marketing campaign".

Good that game changed the ending of the book (which was great until the last page) to something alot better. Hopefully this will further that story.

I loved the first one, I just hope this one can live up to the epic storyline of the first and not just make it a halfway house for a trilogy.

So no book guiding the way? Cue a no doubt crappy story then... but hopefully the fantastic atmosphere of the first will be along for the ride, and fingers crossed they have enough sweet ideas up their sleeve to pull this off.

I enjoyed the first game, but I still haven't finished it, got halfway and gave up cause I got sick of enemy soldiers taking 3 AK clips to the head and still being perfectly fine and laughing it off.
It was good though, might go back to it just so I've finished the story ready for this if I get it.

Nice, now I just have to finish the first one. Kept getting a weird glitch about half way through, and just gave up.

awesome! :-D hope they are NOT going to follow the story in 2034, because that book was pretty lame. but, if they do, I'll buy it, just for the nosalises, librarians & lols :-D

Great news. Really enjoyed the first one, with the exception of the horrid DLC. Normally I don't base a purchase around achievements, but after getting 1000 in the game and seeing that abortion of a DLC list, there was no way I would get it. All that aside, I have high hopes for the sequel.

Is the book out in English yet? The first game was great and had amazing graphics. The end blew me away(spoiler) at the top of the building with that crazy view : )

Awesome. I beat this on PC and thought graphics were amazing. Engine built could have been better as I suffered some framrate drops, but hopefully they will fix this in sequel! Looking forward to this one!

First one is one of my all time favourite games, hopefully this lives up to the previous unlike the second book did IMHO
