| I wish they had a secondary option for the map packs... Such as purchasing the zombie map for 400 MSP... I don't even play the multiplayer at all, so paying 1200 MSP for one map pack seems like a waste. Oh well... Zombies will be fun nonetheless I guess... |

| I dont own Blops but out of all the COD map packs at 1200msp, this actually looks good and half worth it!! I agree with others though, Co-op DLC should be separate to MP DLC. It would be better if you could do Zombies on ANY map like horde on gears then it would be worth it either way... |

@10 - Unfortuantley not. They did, however, bundle all multiplayer and zombie maps for a cheaper price. But there's no reason to not make a separate pack for just zombie maps after they are all released. More people would buy it then.
But really, Call of the Dead looks awesome, and I would pay 400points just for that. |

@21 10GBP for the map pack is a bargin, imo.lets see what else you can buy for 10gbp.
2 large bigmac meals, a cinema ticket,1/8th of a tank of petrol,4 pints in my local, a taxi home on after friday night out,

| shame i stopped play about 2 months ago but came back on for the new maps yet black ops wont allow me to login on their servers, *servers not available at this time* yet i check with treyarch and im not banned or anything i just need to open ports.... done that and still no login and treyarch wont provide any more support.. even tried a different profile and still no luck. |

TBH, everyone who doesn't realize that the price is horrible, is either a little 12 year old who's balls haven't dropped yet, or just a rich bitch... lol.
At this rate, I don't think I'll ever be able to say that I bought a Call of Duty map pack. Sad.
Also, these maps are pretty much pointless as the First Strike maps released not to long ago. That and the fact that we're probably not that far off from 'another' Call of Duty game.
As #27 is saying, Battlefield 3 is gonna shit all over the entire CoD franchise. |

As anyone who isn't up their own arse should know, paying £10 for 5 maps is madness, when you consider 10 years ago, all extra maps were free and you could have hundreds of well made custom maps (on PC anyway). £10 is 1/4 of the price of the game, but about 10% of the content... and costs them barely anything to create. |

Amount of sales doesn't equal how good a game is. The fact is, a casual shooter like CoD will ALWAYS sell better than a more tactical shooter like BF because its attractive to a much larger crowd. The CoD franchise has absolutely nothing good about it, no innovation, and hell I'm willing to bet it takes next to nothing to create a CoD game. But the sad fact is when someone asks anyone for a popular video game, EVERYONE is going to know call of duty.
And yes, they're a company that's out to make money. But they're already making millions off of a cookie-cutter franchise that they can pump out annually. Just because they can overprice, doesn't make it right. All it does is piss people off, and eventually it will come to bite them in the ass. |

| Why do people continue to bitch about the price? It's been like this for awhile now so I don't understand how people expect it to be cheaper. If you think it's too expensive then DO NOT buy it. With that said, it all depends on the person as well, if you play CoD Black Ops enough to justify the price then go for it. @49, so wait...by your logic, does that make every single Zynga game better than Call of Duty and every other video game or franchise? No, sales do not indicate the quality of the game...look at MW2. Say what you want, but unless all those glitches and hacks are resolved, it's been a madhouse in MW2.
The BF series cater to a very different crowd. A PC crowd. Sure, there is no competition for CoD on consoles; but that's because they've made the series into a more casual arcadey take on the Call of Duty franchise with the last 4 main releases. I'm not saying that making it more casual is making it worse off, I'm just saying that it's catering to a much larger fanbase.
The BF series is a much more hardcore game series. Once again, casual vs hardcore doesn't mean a difference in quality, just different playing styles. While Call of Duty is more of a Run-N'-Gun game, Battlefield is more tactical. Now you can reserve those roles of course, but I'm just saying that a majority of gamers will play the certain style that each series is best known for.
Both series are known for something different. They both cater to different groups of people. CoD is easier to pick up and play, which is why you have so many people staying with the franchise.
Saying one is better than the other based on sales is idiotic. BF sold much more on the PC than CoD. If CoD is the better game, where's the logic in that? In short, there's not. Quantity =/= Quality. That's an important life lesson you should learn.
Saying one game is better than the other is an opinion. Not fact.
On Topic: I'm really only looking forward to the zombie map. I am very interested/curious about the whole reason for that gun which turns zombies back into humans. My guess is that when you turn a zombie back into a human, they act as bait for you to reload, escape, or take out any pursuers. Looks interesting overall I must say. |

they need to make dlc more like expansion packs for pc games. sure they are a little more pricey but you actually get practically a new game with new missions,maps weapons etc.
point is they keep releasing a few maps for more money than they are worth. i wish people would stop buying them so companies try to bring out more worthwhile dlc rather than just palm a load of rubbish at us. |

I'm ok with the price, I admit it is a little overpriced but not enough to put me off of buying it. If you think it's overpriced don't buy it. Simple as.
It's all opinion based, personally I like CoD better than Battlefield but that's just me, I can understand why people would like Battlefield better, but it's just not for me.

@ 71. Thats a good idea, but DA: Awakening and Halo: ODST did a bad job at being Expansion packs.
MS popularized the whole DLC system on the Xbox then Developers ran with that on the 360, PS3, Wii, and PC because its an easy and cheaper way to bring out extra content to extend the Life of a game.
@ 72. Its good to hear someone that has their head on their shoulders. People usually moan about the pricing because the don't have the funds, the game, or don't like that game but I can't understand why they need to complain so much. Buying DLC can get expensive if you like that system, which is why a job is important to acquire those funds. |

I was comparing Battlefield to Call of Duty. I was not comparing the FPS genre. I'm mainly a PC player and I know that TF2 and Counterstrike are much larger than BF and CoD combined on the PC. However, I was not talking about them. I was merely stating that BF is a geared to the hardcore PC gamers rather than CoD.
Why release any game on the consoles as well? One word: profit. Whether you want to believe it or not, the BF series is geared towards PC gamers first. Then it's ported onto consoles. Not the other way around like Call of Duty.(Once again, I'm not saying that this is bad. Just a different way of making the game). The BF series is geared more so towards PC gamers, while the CoD series is geared more so to the console gamers. I see no issues in that.
And finally, I never moaned about the DLC. Stop reading what you feel like and actually read the content of people's posts please. I already said I was interested in the zombie map. How does that make me sound like I'm moaning about the pack? |

| I understand people who play Call of Duty, people are entitled to their own opinions! However, that gives you no right to go slagging off other games and genres. I play a variety of games because every game has a different unique experience to offer. I'm not going to say that I prefer one game to another because I don't. All I say to you fanboys above is go and buy a completely different game (like portal 2)... open your minds a little and check out all of the other amazing games and genres there are too offer, then tell me that Black Ops is the best game in the world and that you aren't being ripped off for paying 1200 msp for a map pack. |

@ 74. Battlefield and CoD are in the same boat as modern Shooters that can be based on Teamwork. The FPS thats for the PC Hardcore crowd would be Operation Flashpoint and Rainbow 6.
Most people video games on Consoles because you don't need a constant upgrade to play the current list of games and less people play the PC counter parts when its on a Console, which is why games are made on Consoles. That also does cause more profits especially when games don't appear on the PC.
I see that I miss read you on the whole DLC thing and I apologize for that mistake of my mine.
@ 75. Please don't contradict yourself especially when you say that people are entitled to their own Opinions. You say that you feel ripped off on the CoD maps then why do you buy them and don't turn that Opinion into a Fact. Don't force people to play games that they don't like because everyone doesn't care about Portal 2 especially with a $60 pricetag and don't forget about Mortal Kombat as well. |

It's ridiculous how many people complain about the price. Is $15 going to break you? Really? Let's hope you don't get a speeding ticket or something goes wrong with your car otherwise you're really in trouble!
And just because I love feedback, how many people that think the dlc is overpriced, have a girlfriend? If you do, I feel very sorry for them you cheap bastards. |

| @45 Gas used to be $1.25 a gallon and a dozen eggs used to be $.50. How about you stop living in the past and join us in the present where people that actually have jobs can buy the dlc. And I highly doubt making 5 new maps is cheap. Although the video game industry is a business and they need to make a profit, some people just don't appreciate the work that goes into these things. |

Black Ops: Escalation is awesome so far! A few minutes ago I came across a blog that's giving out the Escalation DLC for free! I thought it was a scam until I saw the DLC code laying in my e-mail inbox. :D
I'm not sure if there's any codes left, but if you want to give it a shot, here's the site:
