Excuse my ignorance as I know nothing of the Warhammer universe, but does this game look like Gears of War with Hack & Slash elements to anybody else? My judgement is reserved, but I just thought I would ask if my assumption was correct. |

The Orks look a little too kid's game-ish for me (well, you know what I'm trying to say), so hopefully they touch up on them at least a little bit before release. After watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy ten times in a month, I guess I just expect that same kind of demonic feel from all games now. Otherwise, I'll definitely be looking into this. |

My first thought was not for me this would suit those little lead loving nerds. But it actually looks quite good. |

| Really looking forward to this, SO much promise with the massivley rich back story/lore of the WH40K franchise, and hopefully there will be PLENTY of DLC for this too, I'll happily spend cash on it if it means as many races from WH40k are introduced. |

| Warhammer is over 20 years old, if anything Gears of War is like 40k not the other way round, and the Orks will not change, that is their design and has been for years, look at screen shots of Dawn Of War if you want to see 40k character design |

| I'm impressed, I was expecting a much lower quality game, but this looks great. Really looking forward to this now. |

| Saw the multiplayer team lead play through an alpha build level of this at GamesDay UK last year. Looked good even then and the sounds were very good also. It will be fairly linear but alot will rest on what the multiplayer will have to offer but they are keeping quite tightlipped about that. |

| Probably nabbing it, but could we seriously get a primary race that isn't Orks, Chaos or Eldar? Tyranids were fine in DoW2 since they haven't had much screen time (sans the Genestealers with all the Space Hulk titles), but seriously...bring on the Necrons, Tau...anybody! |

@12 Drop pods and their standard incarnations today, if anything, were ripped off from Warhammer 40K a long time ago. |

I'll be getting this, to relive my geeky GW days of my youth! I would, however, prefer a Warhammer Fantasy game in this style, rather than the RTS games that have been released (I am more of a fantasy dude)... Here's hoping! But will be getting this regardless! :) |

@15 yeah man i agree too, the Fantasy side of GW is awesome, would love to see a Dragon age style game using the GW fantasy universe. or even remaking or carrying on the Morgan Bernhardt stories of shadow of the horned rat/Dark omen. Awesome games of old and great stories too!! |

I get so sick every single time a 40K vid is released of some retard saying 'oh the pods are ripped off section 8' or 'this is a rip off of gears'. Why on earth would a premiere AAA title rip off Section 8 of all games?! Have these people been living under such a large rock that they have never even seen the prolific back catalog of 40K games on PC, or even been into a games workshop?! It genuinely saddens me that people who enjoy these sorts of science fiction games have never played 40K, or even Fantasy. I grew up on Warhammer, and ironically these people should get out more and become more nerdy! Ahhhh... Rant over. Relic is a phenomenal studio which anyone who has played DoW and company of can attest to, I cannot describe my excitement :) |

| I loved Darksiders and I love Warhammer (especially DoW2:-P). This is a must buy and LOL at all that think this game ripped shit off other games. Like some said if anything other games borrowed a little bit of everything from 40K:-P |

@2 Warhammer has been around since the late 80's. Star Craft was originally meant to be a 40K game until Blizzard decided to go their own way with it (Terrans = Astartes, Tyranids = Zerg, Eldar ~ Protoss). And the Orks being stomped by the Astartes has been lore for awhile. Specifically I can name the book Rynn's World. Orks being creatures made up of an animal life form coexisting with a fungus allows them a strange level of regrowth and healing. If you don't make sure the Ork is dead it may get up. Ork Painboys/Docs can literally cut off an Orks head and then reattach it to another Ork's body and likely have the patient survive. Thus many Space Marines can and will stomp on the dome to make sure the Ork stays dead. On another note when they die they produce more fungal spores then usual so unless they scorch this forge world there is a chance that somewhere in the lowest reaches of the cities Orkoids will grow and come back feral. |
