Virtua Tennis 4 Kinect Action Revealed in New Video

With Virtua Tennis 4 preparing to serve up some tennis in time for Wimbledon and the time of year when tennis becomes briefly popular, SEGA has released a new trailer showing the game being played using Kinect. Essentially, you swing your arms to deliver backhands, forehands, top spin and so on, with your motions translated on-screen by a racquet seemingly being held by a ghost.

Including support for Microsoft's motion-control device makes Virtua Tennis 4 the "first full tennis experience featuring Kinect", and it's also playable in split-screen too, as demonstrated in the video. Of course, you can still use a traditional controller if you prefer, and you'll almost certainly want to use a standard pad during VT4's intense World Tour mode.

Take a look at the Virtua Tennis 4 Xbox 360 trailer to get a first look at the game using Kinect, then get the strawberries and cream ready for the game's release on April 29th in Europe and May 10th in North America.

I had heard Kinect was a bit laggy compared to the other versions. Any other news on this. If it was responsive enough i'd be well up for this though. Will try the demo.

I think the kinect is pretty good with small amount of lag. They just haven't released that huge game yet. Virtua tennis 4 looks like fun.

If kinect can be responsive enough I think this might be the first "real" kinect game!
