Atari has announced that its to release another remake of its 1980 four-player Atari 2600 classic Warlords, following a remake that appeared on the Xbox Live Arcade in 2008. An arcade game for one-to-four players, Warlords tasks players with defending their castles from waves of minions and a dragon that spits fireballs. It's all about "speed, strategy and survival".

“Warlords infuses the arcade action genre with a bold and vibrant visual style coupled with robust strategic gameplay,” says Jim Wilson, President and CEO of Atari. “It exemplifies our design goals and company strategy as we reintroduce these classic brands to a new generation of gamers.”

Warlords involves multitasking as you prevent your castle walls from being bombarded while rallying your troops to seize control points, grab power-ups and decimate rival factions. Warlords HD will offer 2v2, co-op siege mode and free-for all battles when it launches on the Xbox Live Arcade this summer 2011.
