Call me old fashioned, but I like disc-based games better. I also don't like buying too many XBLA games that are massive (ie several GB), which clearly both of these will be.
I don't like to delete my games, but this recent trend of HUGE-ASS XBLA games is starting to get me worried about my HDD space.
I will probably end up buying these anyway, but I would of preferred them on a disc as a collection, and obviously therefore also with 1000G instead of a puny 200G.
Disappointed by this news to be honest. |

Can't wait to pick these both up on XBLA. :D No idea why people are complaining though; yesterday everyone wanted releasing - they all got their wish, it's just by XBLA instead of retail. not everyone has xbox live, 1000gs>>200gs, constant deletion of games on harddrive, no chance of selling game again

| @ 32 - Can't you sign up for Silver (free) and still download Arcade/Indie titles? I've been on Live since I bought a box so I couldn't tell ya. It would be a shame to miss out on it if you're a fan. RE4 was a nice long game with excellent added features. I'm expecting a 1600 MSP cap but wouldn't pay more for an XBLA title. We'll see. |

i would of liked them to be retail releases but if its XBLA i cant complain because we are still getting them in some form. i wouldnt be trading it in anyway so not like im missing out on making money back.
ive never bought a arcade game for 1200msp, any that are 1200 ive bought on sale but id pay 1200 a piece for these.
i doubt we will get resi 1-3, maybe we got these as they have been multi format, resi 4 on ps2, gc, wii and CVX on DC,PS2,GC. would love 1-3 as arcade titles. never say never, if these sell as well as i reckon they will they would be stupid to not release more. people clearly love the resi series and will pay for it |

Since the GC version was on mini DVD which is only 1.7GB and DC version was on GD-ROM which is only 1GB maximum, I guess it's theoretically possible to get a higher resolution game within the size limitations of XBLA.
They really should do all 6 pre-RE 5 games on XBLA, and release a compilation disc version as well. |

| @20, actually this is a bit weird of Capcom. They could have put this on one disc and put some artwork and called it 15th Year Revival Edition or something and slapped $60 or $70 price sticker. Going XBLA the highest they could probably go for is 1600 MSP which is only $20 and people might only buy one of the two games. Code Veronica is really an outside story, some people do not like it as much, so Re fans might buy only RE4 and not CV. I'd say they lost some opportunities by doing this. I'd have gladly paid full retail price for a disc with both games and achievements worth 1000+ gamerscore. |

Bahahahaa!! RE4 was my favorite GC game, I beat it so many times once I got the Chicaco Typewriter and Infinite Rocket Launcher. Get your hands on those fuckers and you are UNSTOPPABLE. I was trying for that unlimited magnum but damn that other mode was tough. :(

| This is fantastic news, but where the hell are 1,2 and 3??? I know CV and 4 was probably the best in the series, but come on, those 3 are still epic games. With the PS3 rumored to have the Resident Evil collection HD coming soon (1,2,3 on disc) I think I will probably buy CV and 4 on PSN (if they release there too which they likely will). Unless M$ can knockout 1,2,3 also. |

Fingers crossed it is in the UK. Glad its not a double pack tho, yes that means 200gs instead of 1000gs but i never liked veronia so only interested in resi4. | As usual - If you're basing the idea of a purchase on this majority for Achievements/Gamerscore - Way to perpetuate the symptom of Wasting Money. If you're buying a game to increase your little e-penis scorekeep then you're the mook wasting anywhere from the arcade prices of $10 to retail of $60. Sucks to be you if this is your argument. | The right side of the screens definitely look better than what I remember from this game on GameCube. But the left side doesn't accurately reflect the lower definition graphics these screens suggest. Either way, I'll be getting these when they come out. | @ 91 - You realize it would most likely be sold for about double if not more than the arcade pricing and all you'd be getting is 30 more achievements to unlock. It's coming with all the modes of the PS2, HD and so on. I'd consider that a steal for the most likely $20 (1600 MSP) pricetag. Plus it's right there on your HDD. I see a lot of people enjoying Beyond Good and Evil on XBLA with little to no complaint. Why should this be any different? |

| @93 I don't give a damn about achievements to be honest regarding Resident Evil. I just love the series and I never got the chance to play Code Veronica because it is banned where I live (Germany). And in Resident Evil 4 there's the Mercenaries Mode missing. So Resident Evil 4 is going to be released only as a cut version in Germany and Code Veronica won't even get on the German Xbox marketplace. This is why I would prefer a retail version, so I could be able to import it from the UK, you see? |

That does suck and right now, I'm probably a tad bias towards discs since my box is giving me a disc reading dilema but I would take either/or - disc or download. This regional shit does suck and whatnot. It's fiction, it's rated for adults so why bother banning or cutting the product? I've been hoping news like this would come around since Resident Evil 5 came out on the 360. Picking up both Day 1.
I really hope there are no "5 star every stage, with EVERY character" like achievement. I can do Hunk, Wesker and Krauser but trying to do it with Leon and Ada? I'll have to do steroids. Would feel good to get something like that though. |

I prefer XBLA games rather than disc versions for those remakes. I have two 360, and so, it able me to use the games on both of them at the same time (like if my brother also wants to play to it). I buy the game with my gamertag on my first xbox 360, which able the other gamertags on the same 360 to be able to use the game, then I retrieve my gamertag on my 360 slim and can play the game as long as I'm connected to the xbox live (nice for the co-op games).
With a disc-based version, I would need to buy two discs which means "double price".
About the achievements, that's not a big deal for me. I do the achievements of the games I liked but I don't choose the games I'm buying depending of the achievements they offer, so 200G per game is fair enough for me.
For those two games, I didn't play them when they were first released (I did "Resident Evil" 1.2.3 and 5), so that's just a perfect opportunity to do them :)

Got RE4 Wii Edition, I'd gladly pay 1200 Msp for it on Xbox with updated graphics, just hope it includes all the extras that were in the Wii Edition, for some reason I can see Capcom cutting some stuff out and making it another 400 Msp to get the other content in the originals, like Operation Ada.

I was just thinking...doesn't the typically 200 gamerscore for the games that where from the xbox that are getting HD ports seem unjustified. Not like it's ever going to happen but at least 500 gamerscore for HD ports of these 10-20 hour games would be much nicer.

Yay, because yesterday I read RE4 for 360, and ive actually been thinking about it all day at work how awesome it was going to be!
Boo, because I was looking forward to lots of neat achievements and the whole 1000g. Ive yet to finish BG&E because it just feels like i could be earning bigger numbers elsewhere
(PS, LOVE BG&E and i also love the other games im playing, so its not like im JUST playing for the points, however it definatly helps me deside what to play)

Hoped for a retail release, but this is good news for those that havent played them or would rather with a little bit more definition, reminds me I need to finish RE4 on pc, and then RE5 on PC.
Code Veronica was fun on PS2 until I got a rare error "insert disc 2" near the end of the game, unfortunately its a single disc game! |

I can't wait to play Resident Evil 4 for the millionth time.
No, really, I love RE4. And now I can get some fun achievements in it? Radical.
I also never got around to play CV (even though I own it for the GameCube) so this will give me an excuse to finally sit down and play it. |

@#7 - I just want you to realize that you can buy RE4 for $10 new on PS2 at Gamestop, and Code: Veronica X for $7 used. And that most of the people excited for the games already own them in some form.
So what are you opening anything on? Logical disappointment that it could cost $30 for something that you could easily buy for half that on PS2?
OH BUT HD/CHEEVOS TOTALLY MAKE IT WORTH THE PRICE RIGHT? SUCH A DRASTIC CHANGE.
In any case, I am probably going to get suckered into buying RE4 a 3rd time. Potentially CVX as well, simply because I don't feel like dealing with memory cards on the Gamecube anymore. |

Resi 4 will be awesome to play again, I bought it for the wii and it was a good game, just didnt come with acheivments :P |

| Thank god I don't have to waste my $ on another bs game that has Leon, Who is the worst character ever to be a part of the RE series, but losers (oh sorry noobs,same thing) Will buy RE4 since they never played the Original on Playstation or even know all the real characters that are Resident Evil, but I digress at least I can get Code Veronica (even if I own X on my Jap Dreamcast. |

this is good knews but I'm kinda upset if the games arent released together on disk for a few reasons:
1) Sometimes XBLA Games become Trials when not connected to live
2) The games will obviously take up alot of space on the hard-drive so many people may have to buy a new one or delete alot of things off their existing one (mainly I will)
3)Being a Resi Collector I wont be as happy having the games digitally. Having both games (or even the games Individually) on disc would make me alot happier. I've been following Resident evil from the beginning, aftewr watching my uncle palying it back in '96. Being 3 I didnt understand the horror and absolutely loved it. I actually laughed at all the exploding heads and what not. I already own these games on all consoles (Bar RE4 on PC and all the iPhone etc versions). I'd be very happy do see a disc release of these games. My only downside is now I gotta listen to Alfred and Steve's fucking annoying voices again... but no pain to gain!
Now for me to go and but a new HardDrive and a Data Transfer Kit! |

@ 179 - How's that smell with your head up your coolie? Leon isn't as prime as Redfield but he's had a bigger and more prominant role thus far. Awww, you don't like him? More people seem to and while it may be opinion either way, the numbers don't lie. If he was so weak, why did he get a bigger role? Say it a lot dude, YOU don't like him - fine. But RE2 is still one of the best in the series and guess who it stars?
And wait..you've never played the original? Now I know your heads been up your ass. You talk a LOT of sh*t.

resident evil 4 is one of the greatest games/story-lines in gaming...trust me
play it from start to finish and you will love it...then you will play it 10 more time no jokes.

The only thing this new xbox version offers is HD graphics and achievements. I don't give a shit about HD graphics, and I have already played this game three times (Once on Gamecube, once on PS2, once on Wii.) That being said, the only reason I would ever contemplate buying this game a fourth time is to go achievement hunting. Since it's an arcade title, and will only have 12 achievements, I'm kind of bummed. A lot of other people are in the same boat. Please, don't go around on your high horse telling people that if they don't buy a game because of it's achievements that they are "wasting money", in fact, they are doing quite the opposite. Any self respecting gamer has played this game already, and unless it has some new and scintillating feature, such as 50 achievements to have fun unlocking, I am not going to buy it.
If you ask me, that's being smart with my money. |

never finished Res 4 so would love to start again with achieveemnts.
My guess as to why download. Probably a few things
first download means they don't have to worry about packaging, disc burning and shipping costs.
Secondly it means that shops cannot discount a game they may deem old and not give it shelf space.
Thirdly, they are both remakes so capcom are probably testing the water to see how many people actually buy it.
If it sales reasonably well on XBLA I reckon you will see a disc version in the future probably a double pack or something |
