First i've heard about this game and it's released in a few months? Weird. Doesn't look like a bad game though, just puts me off that these people are responsible for Tropico 3+4.

I feel you. Last Tropico games were really bad. But I can never complain about more hack'n'slash. You don't need great graphics or story just loads and loads of enemy to kill by button mashing^^

Yeah, because your opinion means more then a reviewer at IGN.
That's what reviews and previews are, opinions.
Just because IGN thought what they played was horrible doesn't mean someone else might think the same.
Splatterhouse got quite a few under 5 scores, but I'm having fun with it.
Does that means I think the under 5 reviews are wrong, or that the websites are full of idiots? No, because it was their opinions, not facts set in stone.
I'm really getting tired of people bashing reviews, and game sites because their opinions aren't 100% like people like yours.
What the hell happen to the whole, "I don't agree with you, but I can still respect your opinion?"
Now it's turned into, "If you don't agree with my 100%, you are wrong and a moron.

#18 Well yeah, that was the point I was trying to make. Even if a game gets a 1 from all game reviews, I'll still check it if I think it'll interest me, to form my own opinions. But that doesn't mean the people who gave it those 1s are stupid.
I'm just getting tired of people bashing games reviews and sites because they doesn't fall in line with their thoughts on the game 100%.
Seems people are so selfish and self entered today, they can't seem to think anyone would think differently then they would.

I think a good example is the recant IGN review of Crysis 2, they gave it a 9(As well as other gaming sites).
But when you look in the comments, you'll see people accusing IGN of EA paying them for that score.
Are they so self centered, that the only way they could think any one single person in the entire world could give it that score is if they were paid?
Why? I just don't understand that kind of thinking.

@ 20 - It's all personal preference. One mans trash is anothers treasure. I base a pre-opinion on whether I'll give it a chance from images/vids but always reserve judgement on whetehr it's crap or not for when its in my hands. I wrote reviews on our website and will admit, I gushed over what I liked but always put a disclaimer - Try it yourself if you want to pass judgement. Don't go by me. "I" liked it. That's it.
It's really sad when people do this too b/c it ruins it for people who would actually like the games. Word of mouth can be a dangerous thing. I used to write off games b/c of so. Now I'm glad I give everything at least 1 chance.

AC didn't create the Templars. they just made them stick in gamers' heads the best as ancient, sneaky villains controlling society. so if I play this game I will be cheering against the main character the whole way lol.
^btw... saying the trailer is 'shit' is saying you think it sucks.

@ #17 he was prolly just bashing IGN because they've been proven more than once to have provided misinformation. They are known to give better reviews to games whose companies sponsor them and have pretty much lost all credibility. They can have all the opinions that they want. But telling people not to buy a game in a preview just proves they are idiotic. 1up didn't like Bioshock when they got an early preview of it either, and later sung its praises.

Here is a reason why people don't like IGN: The IGN reviewer who reviewed the PS2 game, God Hand, gave it 3/10. After complaints by users on IGN, he later admitted that he only played the first level of the game as the basis of his review of the game. Retarded, isn't it?
If you are going to review a game, at least beat 75% of it first! If all reviews were all like God Hand's IGN review, how many games would we have actually bought?

Looks okay. could probably be better though, it doesn't look as good as could be hoped i'd say based on trailer. I'll wait til its out for some reviews. Just was thinking of how it'd be cool if (yeah i know another assassins creed thing) if they took that game, and started it over from templars view, and obviously made them the good guys out of it, kind of like a what if scenario reversing roles. I'm just into shit like that :)

@ #17, reviewers are professionals who are paid to break a game down and critique it with educated opinions. These aren't just some joe blows telling you what their personal opinions are. They are meant to be unbiased also.
And unlike most fanboys who run around saying "this is awesome! that's awesome!" and never tell you why in-depth, professional reviewers will give you a detailed synopsis on what's good and what's bad and why, and justify in the end why the game scored what it did. Fanboys don't even try and argue, they just go into this "RESPECT MY OPINION!!!11" rage.
I hope that clears things up for you.
Oh, and the First Templar? Look at videos on the internet. This game is clearly going to suck.

No, no one here does because anyone who played any of the AC games, knows that they are based on REAL life characters, times, and locations. So no need to prepare to insult someone even if they thought that AC 'invented' the Templar. And yeah that's Templar without the 's'. There's no 's' at the end of Templar. Just saying...
Anywho, it looks like Assassin's Creed met Dragon Age and had a mentally retarded child.

Historical accurate? I can confirm that. Noble ladies used to jump like that in my time. Templars also used to kill people in broad day-light in the ways wee see in the video.
I can also confirm that we used to walk torches in hand through bridges burning on the sides. That was all the rage back then.
By that, I'll get the game before it even hits the stores. :)
Jokes aside, this might be up to par with Conan. I'll wait for it to become affordable then get it.

@ 35 - Had anyone else done research like yourself (kudos for picking up a book btw), they would also know that the Templars may still in fact be around today in the form of Free Masons. Templars = Illuminati = Free Masons. While it's one of my favorite books, the history of this is well documented in and before Angels & Demons by Dan Brown.
