Without a shadow of a doubt, the biggest delight in Red Faction: Guerrilla was grabbing your sledgehammer, a few of your favourite weapons and then setting about decimating a compartmentalised area filled with towering structures placed precariously next to exploding barrels. It even had its own dedicated mode called Wrecking Crew, which had you taking it in turns with friends to compete for high scores.

Now Red Faction: Armageddon has its own version of that very mode, entitled 'Ruin Mode', which drops you into an environment filled with plenty of opportunities for massive destruction. It's a big playground that you can flatten with all manner of incendiary weaponry including sticky mines, the Nano rifle and of course, the trusty old sledgehammer.

Check out the new trailer for Ruin Mode, which also features the game's bi-pedal Leo exo mech thingy. It's like a mobile wrecking ball that can charge through walls and fire volleys of rockets. Get ready for ruin when Red Faction: Armageddon releases on May 31st, 2011 in North America and June 3rd in Europe.
