Karaoke Revolution Encore: American Idol Presents DLC Available

Karaoke Revolution Encore: American Idol Presents DLC Available
Written Monday, February 25, 2008 by David Creech

So with no fanfare or official announcement from Konami, DLC is now available for Karaoke Revolution Encore: American Idol Presents. This (hopefully just the first of many) batch of songs dwarfs the paltry weekly offerings from Rock Band and Guitar Hero with a whopping 21 songs ready to go. Even better...they are only 120 MS points each.

Nice job, Konami, excellent move into the DLC arena with real emphasis!

Here is the song list:

"All My Ex's Live In Texas" - George Strait
"Baby One More Time" - Britney Spears
"Billie Jean" - Michael Jackson
"Boot Scootin' Boogie" - Brooks and Dunn
"Chain of Fools" - Aretha Franklin
"Crawling in the Dark" - Hoobastank
"Everything You Want" - Vertical Horizon
"Fame" - David Bowie
"Girls Just Want To Have Fun" - Cyndi Lauper
"Hey Jealousy" - Gin Blossoms
"Hit Me With Your Best Shot" - Pat Benetar
"How You Remind Me" - Nickelback
"I Can't Help Myself" - Four Tops
"Jessie's Girl" - Rick Springfield
"Kiss Me" - Sixpence None the Richer
"Like A Virgin" - Madonna
"Save Tonight" - Eagle Eye Cherry
"Shining Star" - Earth, Wind & Fire
"Son of a Preacher Man" - Dusty Springfield
"Take My Breath Away" - Berlin
"When a Man Loves a Woman" - Michael Bolton

TJB, did anyone even buy this game? And 120MS Points for one song? That's major h4x.

I bought it, cuz the wife and kids love the KR games (Personally, I suck).

The DLC is all from previous games, so at 120MSP it's a rip. Granted, I'll have to fire up my PS2 to play them, but it's better than spending $31.50 to have them on 360.

There's not achievements attached anyways =)

It is true that these games are form the other KR games. So if you have that already then there is not much incentive to buy these. Now if Each song included an achievement, that might be a different story. I think they should offer a pack each week for a discounted price. I could imagine paying 20 dollars for all of the songs each week. I realize that is a major discount, but if they offer all of the songs that way and really do deliver over 200 songs that would be an additional 200 bucks I'd spend on this silly game.

Sad the DLC is better than the on-disc content...

Nickleback sucks. Their songs all sound the same. Eagle Eye Cherry is a nice surprise however. That's the type of music I grew up to.

I will pass, i personally think the game looks stupid and amazingly difficult. And 31.50 for all those songs, wow i could name 6 arcade games off the top of my head that i would want instead of that crap music, but for family nights and all, it sounds great, but for a single 15 year old, hell no, lol.

How can you consider Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" crap, sure there is some bullshit on that list, but there is certainly some songs I would be interested in.

The songs aren't crap...the price sure is, tho! Why can't they bundle them and make it affordable?!

"Nickleback sucks. Their songs all sound the same."

That's a bit of an over generalization. When you hit the 50 song mark you're bound to have a few songs that sound similar. Sadly, the few really similar sounding Nickelback songs are the ones that the radio likes to play the hell out of.

But, all of Nickelback's songs do sound the same, it's an inavoidable fact. They are great musicians but fall into mediocrity for the singers style and his unambitions.

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
