This Week's Rock Band DLC - Weezer, Garbage, Stone Temple Pilots

This Week's Rock Band DLC - Weezer, Garbage, Stone Temple Pilots
Written Monday, February 18, 2008 by Alan Pettit

As usual, 160MSP each.

  • Stone Temple Pilots - "Sex Type Thing"
  • Weezer - "El Scorcho"
  • Garbage - "Why Do You Love Me"

That Weezer song is pretty good, but we've already got some Weezer. I really wish they would stop rehashing bands that are already on the game disc and give us something new. Oh, especially when the bands are awful like Garbage. STP is decent though.

I'd slit someone's throat for some Thrice or Alkaline Trio at this point though.

songs are a little better then the previous weeks though. It feels like they are saving any 5 star songs for the sequel

I don't get why everyone complains week in and week out about not getting songs that you like.

I don't expect to get songs I like every single week. But every now and then I get ones I enjoy and add them to my playlist. Therefore making the game all the better.

I'm not into metal, emo, or modern pop rock but whenever those songs spring up on the marketplace I'm not crying about it. I understand that the game has fans of these genres. And so I'm happy for the people who do get to enjoy them as I patiently wait for the next time a song pops up that I like... no big deal.

Of course, maybe that's just because I'm a Ska fan and I doubt I will ever see a Ska song on then so unlike most people I learn to compromise better.

Yes, Thrice would be amazing.

They'd probably choose one of their "not so good" (like there are any of those) songs that are popular, like Image Of The Invisible.

Not that it's bad, Thrice just have so much more to choose from.

I think its out over here in the UK on either 14th March or 31st March. One of those dates anyway... I think.

The Alkaline Trio Trio Pack 500 MS Points
Time to Waste
Mercy Me
We've Had Enough

That'd be perfect!

Fear not, the release calendar for the month of March includes a Thrash pack, a Nine Inch Nails pack, and a Metal pack. Highlighting these packs are master tracks from At the Gates, Evile, and Metallica. Cover versions of songs by Iron Maiden and Sabbath.

I agree with Alex Goes Ska... I mean... Why complain? The disc is full of awesome songs already and they're releasing things that the "majority" of the people will want.
But still people complain. Oh well.

If anyone would like to hear the songs that will be part of the thrash, metal, and NIN packs they are:

Thrash Pack:
"Blinded by Fear" - At the Gates
"Thrashes" - Evile
"Shadow World" - The Haunted

NIN Pack:
"March of the Pigs"
"The Collector"
"The Perfect Drug

Metal Pack
"Wrath Child" - Iron Maiden (cover)
"Supernaut" - Black Sabbath (cover)
"Fuel" - Metallica

Yeah finally a good week, or at least people can agree that the songs aren't as obscure. Sex type thing especially. And they are all master tracks. Hey it also looks like more Stones will be out soon, plus Pinball Wizard, "Still Alive" or the Portal Song, and finally the Nevermind album will hit the DLC soon.

I wish they would have bands that aren't already in the game.

Using up so many Weezer and Stone Temple Pilots songs get old.

I love El Scorcho and Sex Type Thing sounded good for the 30 second clip I heard. Could do without Garbage, but I'd still rather have better songs.

I love Weezer, but why can't they just release the entire Blue Album? Still waiting for some more Radiohead too (Karma Police, No Surprises, and anything else they can throw in).

Or better yet, Bohemian Rhapsody!

Me personally, i'd prefer the game "Metal band" or "Metal Hero". I enjoy heavy music and variety. These music games really need to expand horizons. More new artists, more styles. Just my opinion.

Hmm..I'm glad they're keeping with the weekly DLC, but seriously there WAY more genres and sub-genres out there!! I totally agree that there should be some Ska- Rx Bandits, Less Than Jake, Five Iron Frenzy, etc.

Why not make packs from the big concerts? Ozzfest, Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, Honda Civic Tour...and so on? Those would bring a wide selection of artists for sure!

Just an idea...

...also...
Chevelle, Taproot, Tool, Breaking Benjamin, Thrice, Thursday, As I Lay Dying, The Bled, Three Days Grace, Smile Empty Soul....

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
