Magic: The Gathering "Expansion Pack 3" Available Now

The third expansion pack for the XBLA card game Magic: The Gathering has finally hit the marketplace today for 400MSP. Unfortunately, Microsoft has not updated xbox.com with the new achievements, so if you're after those achievements, you may want to hold off playing it just yet. As usual, if you have already unlocked some of the achievements, you will need to recover your gamertag once the situation is resolved and re-earn them so the can properly be applied to your gamerscore.

Once the achievements are available on xbox.com, we will update the "Latest Achievements" feed with the information. In the meantime, feel free to click here to add the content to your download queue.

"The ancient evil dragon Planeswalker Nicol Bolas commanded Sarkhan Vol to guard Zendikar’s mysterious Eye of Ugin. In the Eye’s chamber, the dragon-worshipping shaman slowly spiraled into madness. Expansion Pack 3 features new cards and new decks from the latest Magic: The Gathering trading card game sets. Wield Sorin Markov’s “Master of Shadows” deck, unlock three new cards for each deck you already own, and defeat eight new campaign levels to unlock Gideon Jura’s “Rally of Righteousness” and Niv-Mizzet’s “Root of the Firemind” decks. This expansion pack also contains four new Two-Headed Giant co-op levels as well as five new puzzling challenge levels."

I thought that any xbla game couldn't go over 300 points. Is this a case of halo 3, where they add more to the cap and then show us the rule changes?

@6: You might want to look up the definition, the word of the day came before the rapper. ;) As for achievements not syncing until it's available on the web is stupid but I swear that's how it was for the Halo Reach DLC achievements and it updated just fine for me.

i hate this. i got both of the new power based achievements earlier and now i gotta wait, recover card AGAIN and redo the achievements. im one battle away from the campaign finished. at least the other 2 achievemnts are EASY to get. if you guys wanna boost em send me a message i can get both in about 10 minutes.

But Family Game Night is more like Fable 2, in that you can buy the entire game, retail, or pieces of it on XBL, so it's kind of a loophole. I never did see how the borke the achvs down in the Fable "episodes" but the Games on Demand seems to have replaced this concept now.

@7, Ludacris is the rapper, that's what #6 was referring to--namely, that #5 is using the rapper in place of the actual word ludicrous. So way to be stupid and defend another stupid person.

OT: Will download asa they decide to update them chieves. No point in messing things up or doing them twice. Great game, though
