You're wrong, the phone is amanzing, and iPhone looks shamefully dated next to it. The UI is clean and new, iPhone cluster mess of icons looks like windows 98 next to it. So far I have The Harvest; Butterfly and Need for Speed Undercover all very good games, and you can't beat portable Achievements Omnia 7 ftw. |

Unsure if you can unlock the phone yet. But for the naysayers this is an amazing phone and the games for it are great and addictive. I'm up to 22 games and most of them are fantastic. And they may be more expensive on the WP7 but get over it... you're getting achievements. We're talking $2 here... pretty cheap if you ask me. |

@#5 It mighs sound cheap, but achievements don't make games. I am not sure about you, but I am not paying for cheevos, but for games. And extyra $2 per game is plain dumb. Cheevos don't give me purchase discounts, don't help in socializing in any way and don't refelct anywhere I know other than Microsoft related stuff. True, if achievements are good I might end up playing the game more then I would have without them, but ultimately I pay for the game and not for them and could not care less if say DLC had no achievement. If I loved the game I would buy it at reasonable price. Besides, if I remember correctly other carriers, have other services that offer achievements as well. I'm pretty sure I saw some cheevos or trophies unlock on my Iphone games.... |

So far I've played about an hour of both of this weeks games. Revolution: Is a very good time wasting puzzle game. very simple. good for pick up and play a couple minutes at a time. I'm glad I spent my $3 on it Rise of Glory: This Game is kind of frusterating to get used to. The depth perception and distance is weak at best and they put in an achievement for 10,000 kills. not so happy I bought this one. Try it before you buy it. |

To the site operators...just a little clarification... both of this weeks games are Published by Microsoft Games Studios (MGS) On to the topic of Revolution. I tried the trial and enjoyed it a lot. It gets pretty hectic trying to beat the clock and the par times for moves. I purchased it and I am happy I did! Very unique puzzle game to chill out and play. Have yet to try Rise of Glory however... |

Revolution sounds essentially the same as Geared on the iDevices. Which I got for free. I love my Windows Phone (bar from a few issues that shouldn't be issues), but I kinda have to agree on the games costing too much. I can get the likes of Fruit Ninja for a mere 59p on the iDevices. Granted they won't boost my gamerscore, but paying around 4 times as much for the same game with added achievements is too much. I wouldn't mind so much if it was say double, but the markup is horrendous. |

Agreed on the markup issue that's been raised multiple times. You can actually earn achievements via Feint or other companies that offers achievements via their games. So to charge 4-5 times what Apple do, is pretty bad. And I always consider Apple the ones who overcharge. Nevertheless, if I eventually get my Samsung Omnia 7 (Jizz), I shall only be buying a few games that have a long shelf life :). |

#16 You miss the point, no matter how much you try to convince yourself and others that you used sarcasm. Anyone who cares enough to play CoD will buy an Xbox, PS3 or PC to play it. I don't know anyone who through choice bought CoD on the Wii. Choice of phone is an entirely different matter however, and the Windows Phone platform is a direct competitor to the iPhone, whether Microsoft will admit it or not. Live Anywhere is one of the major selling points of the platform, meant to entice Xbox owners to buy one. If one of your USP's is to allow gamers to boost their gamerscore on the go, it's bad form to charge so much for a game that your competitors are selling at a fraction of the price. |

| One can't realy compare Live's Achievements with other companies... er... "things", it has nothing to do with it, it's not a centralized system across multiple platforms, it doesn't have leaderboards, nor rules, nor the whole socializing side of Live. I mean, that's why we're here posting in this site. |

@#23 I think you missed the point that everyone (yes, inlcluding me) is trying to convey. We don't mind achievements and actually enjoy getting them (I know I do), but it is not good enough reason to slap a price tag 300% higher than other carriers on the same game. Simple as that. I'd much rather pay less than more. @#24 Not exactly comparing Live! as a service here either, just it's achievement side. True they are centralized for all games, but that's where it ends. With other carriers I can track my achievement progress in each game (not in all games mind you and not like I care enought to do it anyway:-P), so I guess if I wanted to pay a lot more just to have one place to look at all the achievements I would. Off-topic: I wonder who is the douche that gives everyone thumbs down^^ |

$2.99 = £1.92 NOT £2.49?!?! And todo with the markup, seems like just trying their luck with their normal mentality. If theyve added something (ie cheevos) it adds value. Maybe it does, but not 3times much. Maybe its to stop us buying too much?! I mean half my memory is filled up with app/games, yet ive only downloaded a few (8?) its a joke |

@31 No, you tell me how you came to that startling conclusion from what little I've said about myself. So I'm poor because I don't want to pay through the nose for games I can get from other providers for a fraction of the price? Ok, you call me that, and good luck to your obviously bottomless pockets. I'd call it being frugal during a recession, and happy that there is competition, regardless of the fact that Microsoft is happy to ignore it. |

Enjoy getting some of them and hate the others. I was simply stating the fact that I am not paying for them BUT for the games themselves and if I can find cheaper game without achievements, I'm happy. Yes I am poor, sorry not all of us are amazingly rich atm and have money to spend on games. I'm sure they're still feeling out the prices for the games. If $3 a game is too much for you don't buy it. If enough people don't the price will lower. If they feel they can get more money with more sales lowering the price, maybe they will. I really don't have a problem paying $3 for a game. |

@39 You continually miss the point and the principle of the matter. Either that or you are trolling. I am leaning toward the latter. Why should I pay more for a game that has NO extra content added? No, achievements don't count as content. Having just looked at the iPhone store, Fruit Ninja costs a mere 59 pence, yet it costs a ridiculous £2.49 on the Windows Phone. That's over 5 times the price, and all that's different is that it uses Xbox Live and not Apple Game Center. And you suggest that I don't have a right or reason to complain? If it was a mere few pence more as you seem to think, or even double the price I could probably justify spending that bit extra. As it is, there is no logical reason to do so. I have far too many other monetary commitments to throw that kind of money away. Maybe one day you'll understand that not everyone is happy to piss away every penny they earn. Whether or not I fritter my money on other "useless" things is inconsequential and irrelevant. The fact of the matter is that Microsoft are expecting their customers to cough up more for... what exactly? |

@43 Xbox Live is a reasonable one-off payment that will essentially pay for itself over a year if you use your account enough so that isn't exactly a comparison, and as for platform? Generally PS3 or Xbox games offer better value for money, adding better multiplayer support and often exclusive content which justifies the extra cost, assuming you aren't prepared to wait for the price to drop before buying, in which case you'll save even more. What point exactly am I missing? CoD on Wii or CoD on Xbox? It's not even a relevant comparison. @44 So anyone who complains is a "whiny kid"? Brilliant. I'm 30 years old, have been into gaming since I was 3, have been gainfully employed since I was 16 and have lived alone since I was 17. I now make a somewhat respectable income, and I still won't just slap my money down on any game just because it's "only $3". Would you care to explain to me how having to work to live makes me a "whiny kid" or a "loser"? Because I don't think you are qualified or entitled to cast such aspersions on anyone. Maybe when you're a big boy, you'll understand that not everyone has a money tree in their garden, or bottomless bank account. |

@35 throwing out a fair few assumptions there mate, you've got no idea what my situation is so how about you keep your assumptions to yourself. People find fun in different areas, for some its Xbox Live Achievements (and their gamerscore) so paying a bit extra for a game that will bring them more fun then a game without achievements isn't that stupid. People do see achievements as extra content, as crazy as that might sound. I'm not one personally, but I know a lot of people who'll rent and play games just for the GS, because that is what they enjoy. |

| to me personally, I look at WP7 games in the same way as I look at actual arcade titles. some of them cost you over £10, while offering a somewhat shallow experience. not to say that they are bad by any means, but £10 for a game that will last you about 20 minutes isn't really very worth it to me. now I've had my windows phone since release and I've yet to play a game thats not kept me going for a good few hours. So to me £2.49, £3.99 or £5.49 is a valid price tag. Thing is, everyone is entitled to their opinion, as I am to mine, so If someone doesn't like the fact that they might seem expensive compared to other carriers of the same game, that's totally fair enough. What I will say though is that slating someone for not liking it is pretty childish. just like slating someone who is willing to pay just for gamerscore. I love my gamerscore and getting achievements, and that was the main reason I got my WP7. i probably play games too much and figured I'd prefer to play a game that unlocks achievements on the go than not. Again, each to their own. nobody is right or wrong here, just need to realise that people have their own preference. |

@45 the problem is that anyone that can run out and buy this new WP7 as soon as it comes out then complains its games are to expensive. do you not see the problem there or are you just bad at math i understand that not everyone wants to buy everything that come out even if it is only $3 but to come and say its to much is alittle stupid dont you think? 27 years of gaming for you and you still cant see the problem with people being to cheap. Gaming is a vary expensive entertainment that is ment to pay off over time and if you cant get $3 worth of time into a game then please dont play them. Oh and lastly i called the complainers the whinny kids. Did you complain? NO. so why did you write back at me... |

Had a choice, and despite anchoring after a WP7 I caved in to the Galaxy S. Simply because it's a better phone. The Games & Achievements are a great idea, but the quality of games on portable devices just doesn't seem worth the money in my eyes (for the Phone or Games). Great idea, once Handheld Games catch up to Consoles a bit more, and it will happen. I'd pay £2-3 per WP7 Game if it was as good as an XLBA Game (but shorter, obviously) or failing that, i'd buy fully fledged XBLA Titles for the Phone, even at £5-10. Just a shame they're not available. |
