Today's 'Countdown to 2011' Daily Deals Are...

Dan Webb

As predicted yesterday, today's "Countdown to 2011" deal of the day is none other than Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, which is now available for 600 Microsoft Points, which is a 50% discount.

The only real difference to our educated guess yesterday is that in the UK - and I assume it's different for different regions too - the film on offer is not '30 Going on 30,' but is instead 'Clash of the Titans.' The lesser of two evils I suppose...

Remember, these are daily deals, so miss Lara Croft today and you'll miss out forever... or at least until it comes up as a Deal of the Week. Enjoy!

Today:

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light - from 1200 to 600 MSP
Pet Monkey - from 240 to 120 MSP
13 Going on 30 - US - from 800 to 400 MSP
Clash of the Titans - UK - from ??? to 290 MSP

If all goes according to plan... well, our plan anyway, the rest of the promotional deals should shape up as follows:

December 23rd:

Castlevania Harmony of Despair
Rock Band Keyboard Prop
The Spy Next Door

December 24th:

  • I just hope the deals for the 28th turn out to be the actual one; I still need to pick them up.
  • Will Limbo also be 600msp?
  • Can I buy the monkey prop and force him to smoke cigars and ride around on a unicycle?
  • @#3 - No idea on prices to be honest. It's anyone's guess at the moment, but so far they've all been pretty decent savings, so fingers crossed. It's a truly great game and the more people that experience it, the better.
  • @3 Yeah probably or it will be like last year on december 31st for 560points.
  • Looks like Limbo will finally be joining my arcade collection!
  • I need Overlord to be 320 MSP, here's hoping!
  • Anyone know how much Alan Wake: The Writer is gonna cost?
  • Waiting all of this time for Limbo to be on sale. Cant wait to get it. Hopefully it is 600 MSP
  • Would love to pick up Monday Night Combat on the cheap, espescially if it turns out to be 50% off like Tomb Raider today. Been meaning to buy it for ages now!
  • Alan wake & Mass effect 2, Excellent!! i shall partake
  • Still waiting for: Alan Wake - The Writer Mass Effect - Lair of the Shadow Broker
  • I got lara croft and it charged me 1200 :~(
  • I still have to grab Alan Wake period.
  • I got Lara. Now I have to get comic jumper and wait for Limbo. I wish they had Ludicity or Plants vs Zombies:-
  • Hopefully these Alan Wake predictions are true, I've been waiting to buy them, but I recently lost my job (So close to Christmas, how depressing), so I need to save as many pennies as possible.
  • Well today is a big fat no from me. I already have GoL, didn't like Clash of the Titans and I don't want a sodding virtual monkey. I want a real monkey. Until the moment it starts flinging poo. So maybe a virtual monkey isn't so bad after all. Less housekeeping to be done.
  • Overlord and kasumi were 400 in october so maybe shadow broker won't be half price it will probably be 560
  • 9 I have been told that it will be half price off all alan wake items on the marketplace will just have to see but if it is defo gonna get the writer. Merry christmas fellas
  • Eh, maybe I'll try Lara today in case I do like it. Other than that, might get Limbo finally, maybe Perfect Dark.
  • Hopefully i wont forget to buy limbo on 31st... :)
  • @Webb - Clash of the Titans is the lesser of two evils? I never saw 13 Going On 30, but I doubt it could be any worse than that heaping pile of shit that was Clash. I saw it for free on a plane, and when it ended I was fighting the urge to pull the emergency door, just to erase the damages it did...
  • Haha '30 going on 30'
  • I need to go get more points. Some actual great deals
  • Give me Yoda's lightsaber for free, then I'm interested..
  • Do people seriously pay those prices to watch films through Zune?
  • @27 id hope not its so overpriced and a shitty service overall in comparison to netflix. too bad netflix doesnt have the selection though.
  • Lets hope Limbo ends up being 600 Points, if so I'm definately picking it up!
  • That's to own it on there I think. My first post. Ya!
  • I'm gonna finally get Mass Effect 2 for Christmas and then pick up the DLC for it!
  • It looks like the deals from the first day are still available. Does this mean that these aren't one-day only, and can wait until the end?
  • @32 i dont think so the rdr has gone back to original price last time i checked. id like to see 50% off on all these think theyll do something a little more for perfect dark? seeing as its 800 maybe a little bonus? ;) like that day reshelled was priced 160 msp
  • DAMN, I missed Tomb Raider @ 600!!! No way I'm buying it at 1200 now!!!
  • Grab Lara Croft for 600. Great price. I already have HoD but it wasn't worth the 1200 I paid when it came out. Hopefully I'll get the Alan Wake DLCs. I just picked up the game used for $10. Waiting for: Monday Night Combat Sonic collection ( I might buy all of them) Limbo and on the last day I'll buy: Super Meat Boy Comic Jumper Castle Crashers maybe the others too. At prices like these you cant go wrong.
  • Alan Wake DLC is up @ 200msp each
