Anyone that ate up the SEGA Mega Drive Collection aka Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, is going to love this. SEGA is assembling a Dreamcast Collection, which will presumably bundle the XBLA titles released so far alongside the others on the way and hopefully a few more too.

SEGA's Executive VP of Sales & Marketing, Alan Pritchard confirmed the rumoured collection in an interview with Game Informer, acknowledging the dedicated fans that still buy the games and play them: "The Dreamcast fans are very devoted. You see on eBay people are still buying the games and system," he said. "We actually have a Dreamcast collection coming out soon. We are looking to bring some of the old Dreamcast games to market digitally and packaged."

At the very least. we'd expect to see Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, (which have already been released on XBLA) Space Channel 5: Part 2 and SEGA Bass Fishing (which are on the way) feature in the collection then, and one would hope that Shenmue, Chu Chu Rocket, Jet Set Radio and Sonic Adventure 2 will make the cut too. Until SEGA actually confirms the line-up however, we'll have to be left guessing what'll be crammed onto the disc.

"The titles are still to be announced," said Pritchard. "The Ultimate Genesis Collection did huge numbers on PS3 and 360, so it's an important part of our business. We've already been releasing some Dreamcast games digitally; Crazy Taxi [for one]."

GameStop had listed the Dreamcast Collection on its site for a February 15th, 2011 release date with a price of $29.99 before quickly taking it down. The date sounds realistic, although the slender - and unconfirmed - price tag hints that the selection of games might not be as exhaustive a library as the SEGA Mega Drive Collection's was.
