Bye Bye Ensemble Studios. So this means easier to get General achievement in halo wars hopefully! wewt!Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 09:09 AM
I thought they already reset this? Oh well doesn't matter for me now I got my general last year..Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 09:10 AM
I like Strategy games!!!Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 09:11 AM
Does anyone know if this will affect the XP you've already gotten towards the General Achievement? My brother is working to get that Achiev, but I don't think he'll reach there by the 15th. Will his XP be reset, meaning he'd have to start from 0? ThanksMonday, November 22, 2010 @ 09:22 AM
@2 - Yes. My bad. They had already reset the leaderboards. It's online stat-tracking that's been stripped out now. I've edited the piece to reflect this. Cheers!Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 09:24 AM
Sadly, this game could have been bigger than it was. The promotions department really dropped the ball. It would have been nice to have more DLC that what was issued.Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 09:24 AM
Well good to see everything Halo all in one place ^_^ Shame Ensemble is gone ):Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 09:25 AM
@ #4, the current XP needed is for General is 960,000. HURRY!!Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 09:59 AM
The online multiplayer will continue to work, I'd assume the achievements will continue to work the same as well. Of course I don't know for sure, but while your xp is uploaded to the website I assume it's stored in your Xbox profile as well. I, personally speaking, wouldn't worry.Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 10:08 AM
So can u boost this after the 15?Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 10:24 AM
its too bad i really suck at this game :(Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 10:38 AM
@ NITEMARECREATOR: Blame Microsoft for killing Ensemble Studios just right before launch.Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 10:39 AM
i play reasonably regularly and still only half way to general :S hopefully dlc will get major discound soon. theyre really not worth 800 eachMonday, November 22, 2010 @ 11:10 AM
Game was nice but needed more content The DLC was way too overpriced. Hopefully we'll see a Halo Wars 2 at some point with a full UNSC, Covenant and Flood Campaign!Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 11:24 AM
getting general wasn't hard. do 1vs1 games and kill lots of flood on the flood map. unless thats changed in the time i've stopped playing.Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 11:47 AM
will you still be able to earn the general achievement after this goes down? if not, i'm screwed.Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 11:51 AM
@14 I agree to your 2nd and 3rd points. I think it was a fine amount of content for a first go but the dlc was lacking (first especially) and I'd love at the very least, a covie campaign. MS said they want some type of halo game every year and hopefully we get a sequel.Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 12:19 PM
Maybe they will slip something into TU5 that lowers the requirements for the highest rank again. :)Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 12:38 PM
So...there will be no more leaderboards for this?Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 02:09 PM
I swear to god if my General gets wiped I will murder them!Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 03:04 PM
god sake, i was about 100k xp off general, played that game solid for 7 months, im so guttedMonday, November 22, 2010 @ 03:17 PM
actually as far as im aware, your rank hasn't reset, just the leaderboard like Mp skill, Wins, ECT ive just been on and i have still got my 700kxp (thank the lord)Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 04:17 PM
how funny, i was thinking in playing this game again :3Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 05:13 PM
Damn shame. This game had a lot of awesome potential, but the closing of Ensemble killed this. We could have had some good DLC, more considerable patches, a better community, and online stat tracking for a lot longer. The way I see it, Robot did the DLC no justice, and now the game's been sitting in 343's hands for over half a year, and they've been sitting on the game. Now they're finally doing something: Downsizing by eliminating the already-existing community, and the career progress stats. With no long-term stats, I see little reason to play this game anymore, except the occasional one-off thrill. Thank you for killing the already-orphaned game, Halo Wars.Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 05:39 PM
I believe just your Trueskill is reset, not your military rank.Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 07:32 PM
Good I hope this is all true, was fearing the worst as I'd rather not see a quality game like this go down the way of Chromehounds and similar games. Was kind of annoyed that the leaderboard was reset but looking at the ceiling now it is much more obtainable than back when I played so its all good.Monday, November 22, 2010 @ 10:41 PM
drop the amount of xp that needed to obtain general!! please!!!Tuesday, November 23, 2010 @ 02:34 AM
I can't believe they reset the leaderboards. I don't play anymore but i had really good win ratio on 2v2 party team. Gutted.Tuesday, November 23, 2010 @ 02:40 AM
What they said ^ Lower DLC price. Lower XP required for General. Bring on Halo wars 2.Tuesday, November 23, 2010 @ 03:34 AM
My trueskill rank has reset back to zero so I assume this reset has already taken place; meaning my rank will not reset? I am only 100k off a General...Tuesday, November 23, 2010 @ 06:22 AM
Well im glad this game will be taken care of. The Dlc Was Overpriced in my opinion compared to the content of it. I dont know why people are complaining so much about general rank. you can knock it out in about 20 hours combined with a good partner at a good pace. Check the forums....Tuesday, November 23, 2010 @ 12:18 PM
So no more trolling on halo wars forums. I'd urge trolls to do their thing while they can:-PTuesday, November 23, 2010 @ 12:27 PM
This game was so mediocre. I couldn't be bothered with chasing any of the other achievements down after I beat the campaign. It was boring to me.

Halo Wars' forums are set to move next month, following hot on the heels of a reset of the game's leaderboards a while back and now the eradication of online stat-tracking for the game when Title Update 5 lands. The Halo Wars website will therefore be closed and moved over to Halo Waypoint, where you'll be able to discuss all things Halo-related. The news came in a post from site moderator, Cocopjojo.
"In an effort to provide the Halo Wars community a lively, active, and well-moderated set of forums for discussion, we are soon going to be transitioning the Halo Wars forums to Halo Waypoint's forums," reads the post. "What this means is that the Halo Wars site will be taken offline and we will ask all of you, if you'd like to continue discussing the game, to do so over at the home for all things Halo, Halo Waypoint."
So, this is very bad news for Halo Wars, right? Not according to the forum post: "While I know some of you will see this as bad news, it really isn't: Halo Waypoint, unlike HaloWars.com, is updated daily by bs angel and the rest of the community team," Cocopjojo continues. "Additionally, its forums are fully moderated, so it will be a lot less chaotic than this place tends to be on occasion. I think some of the members here have realised this latter point because we've gotten the suggestion from a few members here to ask this community to move over there."
In addition to this huge and potentially rather controversial move, there will also be a fifth Title Update for Halo Wars to help with the transition, bringing the following:
Title Update 5 and the transition will be put into action on December 15th, while Halo Wars-faithful forum members can find cold comfort in an exclusive avatar to take with them to Halo Waypoint, to show their Halo Wars forum legacy. Head over to HaloWars.com to find out how to get your avatar.
