GameStop Lists 'Dreamcast Collection'

If a recent GameStop listing - which was put up and subsequently taken down - is any kind of indication, then SEGA could be planning to bring a compendium of Dreamcast classics slapped onto a disc, following in the footsteps of the frankly brilliant SEGA Mega Drive Collection (known as Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection in the US).

CVG managed to get a grab of the screen before the post was removed, which was tagged with a February 15th, 2011 release date and a bargainous $29.99 price tag. Is it possible that SEGA might be rounding up the titles confirmed so far for XBLA and releasing them on disc? To date, Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, SEGA Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5 make up the range of Dreamcast titles, and it's hard to imagine that any further DC games might be add to the disc (if it's planned) given the proposed price point.

GameStop also told CVG that the posting was not a mistake as far as they know, and although it's no longer on the site, it remains in the system with a February 17th, 2011 date attached to it. However, SEGA has yet to officially confirm anything, so there's still a chance that the product could be bogus.

Crazy Taxi is next up on XBLA, releasing on November 24th for 800 Microsoft Points.

This is very exciting for me. I absolutely love Dreamcast and still have mine!! Over the years I've built up a collection of the most sort after Dreamcast games, Skies of Arcadia, a rare promo copy of the never released Half-Life, Rez, US Import Seaman, Rare Import Typing of the Dead, Headhunter, Japanese Collector's edition of Sonic Adventure 2, Shenmue 1&2, Power Stone 1&2, Jet Set Radio, Soul Caliber, Metropolis Street Racer, Phantasy Star Online, and Chu Chu Rocket. So it suprises me that none of these legendary games are anywhere near whispers of Dreamcast XBLA content, or Compilation potentials. Especially Jet Set Radio, who's sequel "JSR: Future" was an XBOX exclusive, and Metropolis Street Racer which of course is the prequel to XBOX's exclusive Project Gotham Racer.

Sonic Adventure 2, Skies of Arcadia. Also, make the achievements longer than Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection. Those were way too short, I want to have to complete every game in the collection for the points this time.

I really hope this is true..as long as it has Sonic Adventure 2 on it I'm happy. Now i might actually hold off on Crazy Taxi because if it's on this collection might as well get it then. I'm sure if SEGA was smart they would release a dreamcast collection. We will see :)

Actually this might include some of the games that are on the marketplace, but like the Sonic Genesis Collection they might be just ports and not the already existing games. So the disc would have its own 1k, instead of the achievements that the individual XBLA games have.

But you never know, I could be wrong.

SEGA please release a Saturn compilation first. I got nearly all the Dreamcast stuff when it came out, but Saturn had some great games that peolple just didn't get a chance to enjoy.
If anyone is having trouble Skies of Arcadia was also released on the Gamecube it was a longer adventure, but was missing the downloadable VMU games that really added to the title.
Besides still missing my favourite DC title: Toy Commander. Would be awesome now we can do proper online games.

Original Jet Set Radio! Come onnnnn! Hopefully with a Japanese language option. I had a JP import and it was part of the charm, not knowing what anyone was saying!

Just gonna point out to everyone saying "Sonic Adventure 2 Battle" instead of just SA2, that the "BATTLE" part was Gamecube exclusive.

Though, I suppose since Sonic Adventure had some of the DX additions, Battle could find its way to XBLA too.

I agree with the toy commanders comment, I never got to far into that game but I would now, with the online of course. I didn't like that army toy game for XBLA. Shenmue would be great too but "not gonna happen". I'll definitely be pickin up Crazy Taxi when I get my October points back I loved that game and I still have the music stuck in my head, "So leave me alone, not askin alot just don't want to be controlled! All I want! Ya Ya Ya Ya Ya!"

I would love to see more Dreamcast games appear on LIVE, I'm so tired of seeing duds pop-up as Arcade games. Would like to see LIVE tap the fighting game library the Dreamcast had, Tech Romancer, Project Justice and both Power Stones.

@30 I totally back you up there! shenmue 1,2 and finally a 3rd. It'd be a definate buy for me. They can't make a dreamcast classics without at least 1 shenmue on it. I'm sure that's illegal?
