| I think too many people are assuming that they'd just shoehorn Kinect into the existing trilogy. There's enough Gears of War lore to make multiple games that don't occupy the same game space - shooter and Kinect title i.e. not the same game. Just sayin' =P |

| How would kinect work with any shooter? You can't exactly run around and switch weapons using your body as a controller can you? I can't afford to buy kinect and I'd be gutted if they somehow made it work, I love gears (just got the COG symbol tattooed on me) and I don't think it would be done, or could be for that matter. |

I already stated this when Kinect was still Natal: "If I have to waggle my arms like a Wii-loving manjobber to play Reach, I will kill someone at Microsoft."
This also applies to Gears of War 3, Dragon Age 2, Portal 2, Battlefield 3, and a wide variety of other games with sequels in my played games lists. Don't make me regret selling my PS2, Microsoft. Seriously. |

@14 I think more people are saying that Kinect sucks balls, not its games. Although they also suck balls, come to think of it. So putting a good game on a peripheral that sucks balls doesn't really solve the underlining problem. (Kinect sucking balls.)

I really don't see why everyone is complaining. The controller is still by far the best way to play a shooter on a console and gaming developers would be committing commercial suicide if they forced their loyal hardcore fans to get Kinect to play it. At this point the only shooter games I can see on Kinect are the arcade-style rail shooters anyway. I personally think the idea of a Gears arcade shooter would be pretty cool.
Nobody is pointing a gun at your head and forcing you to buy it so if you its not for you just let it go by and wait for Gears 3. |

| This is exactly what I was afraid of. Personally, Kinect doesn't appeal to me in the slightest and I think it's a dumb idea and a pathetic attempt by Micro$oft to steal Nintendo's fans. However, I shouldn't be hating on it cause it's not like I have to buy it to play the games I like to play, right? Oh wait, that's exactly what making a GoW Kinect game would do. And if a GoW game gets made, all of the other hardcore franchises will soon follow. If people want to buy Kinect and enjoy it, then that's their right and it's fine by me, but if Micro$oft is going to force all of us hardcore gamers to buy it just to play our favorite games, then I have a problem. DONT WORRY! People the kinects controls do not work well enough to truly map enough of the body to be able to fully give you control over a character in a game like this. That is why So many of Kinects games are Sports or Minigame games. I imagine it will probably be a Mini Game in GoW3. That you unlock and can play co op mode with. I would do it like this:
1. Not a 3rd person shooter. Wont work with the tech and too many people would hurt themselves trying to take cover behind their couch. and one person will try and vault over the couch and split their balls open and sue Epic.
2. Make it Fun. Yet Exciting for hardcore gamers.
3. Dont shoehorn a crappy item into a game. If your gonna do something do it right. Dont make something just to appeal to someone. If it dont work dont put some crappy gameplay/game/minigame/ or whatever out there.

#25- Actually, most people are praising Kinect, that is, of THOSE WHO ACTUALLY OWN ONE. Check the "General Kinect Discussion" in the forums and many people are enjoying it. Yes, the launch lineup was slightly shallow, but plenty of fun to be had there still. Most people hating on Kinect never tried it, and more importantly, purchased one and spent time with the tech.
#41- My god, I hope we aren't using controllers in 50 years! In 2060 I would think we would have evolved from controllers. I don't what though, possibly a link to your brain functions some how.
Don't judge this game until it's out(if it even is true). Christ! People have made up their minds about this and Kinect in general before even playing it. It's very disheartening.

I have worked in game development myself. When people buy something it usually means they like it or had a good suspicion they would like it. Im sure some of the worst movies of all time are pretty well liked by the people who actually bothered to go out and buy them, does that really mean anything? Even if Microsoft meets its rather high 5 million units prediction that still means the wide majority of xbox owners arent purchasing kinect. The fact that the minority who did buy it liked it really isnt a counter argument to people saying they or others dislike it. |

@72 Sorry but I disagree most people will hate kinect out right but there are hardcore gamers that will love it as well. It really is a lot of fun when you give it a spin. The tech has so many possibilities that for something like a gears game, it might work out when mixed well with controllers.
Imagine being able to set the controller down and be in control of the cut scenes. Even using the tech to tell certain AI to move in a direction [been done in that tom clancy game] yet it would be a lot better with kinect. |

| I understand people being skeptical about Kinect. After all, the launch lineup is anything but brilliant. That said I wouldn't go as far as saying that a Gears of War Kinect game would suck. There aren't as many triple A studios in the business and Epic Games happens to be one. It's a studio that has released great games and innovating ones over the last decade. So why on earth would they make a game that's BS? To those that think you can't run or change weapons... with Kinect I'd say you CAN. I think there are many ways they could do this. The best one however would probably require a peripheral (For instance, a Lancer replica with a "stick" on the bottom part for movement and a trigger for firing). I believe it's up to great developers to achieve great results with new technologies like Kinect. And I think hybrid games could be a lot of fun. |

| I'm amused by all the people saying hardcore gamers won't touch Kinect. I would consider myself a hardcore gamer, yet I've purchased one and have enjoyed playing on it in-between playing other games. I would welcome a developer looking to make more serious games for the Kinect and if the game is terrible, then so be it, Epic can afford to take the hit. If it turns out to be great, then great. It would be nice to see a big risk in terms of game innovation being successful. |

ok, another kinekt tittle. it the do a gears of war 1,5 kinekt o don't ceer but dont do gear 3 to keinekt game it will be bad. and i dont bay it, and i dont bay a kinekt for one game.
you kant move in kinekt so it most be a game like houes of the dead stil, it move for you and all game you dont kontrol how you move sucks. i have hard to play whit a ia but when im the ia it is a tragedian.

| I would consider myself a hardcore gamer, but I love Kinect. Bring on a STAND ALONE gears Kinect title and all the haters can moan about it while everyone who is willing to give Kinect a chance could be having the chainsawing time of their lives ;) |

Seriously all you "hardcore" / "pro" wannabes get a grip, have you even tried Kinect? Chances are you haven't & the only thing you've seen is family fun, adverts with groups of people enjoying it together.
Sorry that you don't have a social life or friends that can come around & play with you.
FFS I only setup Kinect on my gf's Xbox, transferred my gt across & straight away some dumb ass sent me a message saying how he was disappointed that I had Kinect, yet the idiot had CoD Black Ops as his most recent played game, yeah come on! When I asked him if he'd played Kinect he responded with he'd rather rub shit all over him. On further investigation he then responded with saying how he doubt's anyone would want to go around his to play Kinect & that it does look fun in groups. He then went onto divulge how crap CoD Black Ops was.
I'm an ex pro (yes paid to play) & held the title as #1 team in the EU for GoW, so I guarantee I'm a lot more "pro" than some of you guys posting here.
Kinect Adventures took me by surprise it's actually really fun. Kinectimals appeals to the inner child & it's freaking cool how it utilises Kinect. Then you got Dance Central & Your Shape, need I say more? Those games are superb & carry the launch of Kinect. I can't wait to see what's to come but seriously get a grip @ 2 & 3, and that goes to anyone else who shares the same closed minded bullshit.

Yes the people who went out and bought it are gonna be its biggest supporters, but when the names of people who never show up on the forum for Owning a Kinect, are always the people in the Forum, Hating on kinect, you don't see much if any of that in the kinect forum..
And honestly, if you wanna compare it to a crappy movie, that's fine..
But that adage stays true...you would have to Experience the movie first to know if you actually enjoy it...or just like your "expert" review of the kinect which involves a passing glance in best buy, did u just see a preview of said movie?? |

The onnly thing I hate about Kinect is it's price. I can't afford thus I can't buy it, altough I'd love to try Fitness and Dance Central. Having that said if Gears Kinect title was to come out I'd love to play it and hopefuly Kinect's price would go down by then to semi affordable $100....
