Gears of War 2's 10x XP Thanksgiving Event Detailed

It turns out that the next Gears of War 2 XP event is going to be a little bit bigger than anticipated, with the 10x XP week planned for Thanksgiving actually running for ten days, despite the advertised dates on Xbox.com stating that the event runs from November 24th, 12AM GMT until November 29th, 9AM GMT.

Epic's Rod Fergusson tweeted: "Ok, little secret. Even tho all the promos will say that Thanksgiving event starts on the 24th, I'm actually going to start it on the 19th."

That's not all though, as it seems Epic really wants everyone to strive to 100% the game's achievements, with Fergusson going on to tweet that there'll actually be a little surprise, in the form of a a helping hand in getting the completely ridiculous 'Seriously 2.0' achievement.

"We're doing 10x XP for the full 10 days and I'm planning on serving up a little Horde surprise to help you grind that Seriously achievement" reads the tweet.

What could it be, we wonder? 10,000 Tickers on screen at once? One bullet to kill the lot? Now that would be brilliant... Ten waves and we'd be done. Here's hoping...

well lots of kills in horde also means alot higher scores. So this with the XP could really help getting wings.

But this sounds interesting...I'm only lvl 48 so I could use this to my advantage...

They cant do Kill Mulitplayers as confirmed by epics Joe graf
they can only do lots of easy to kill enemys

well hot damn...i have to say im disapointed that its only 10x compared to the last time at 31x but im still excited about this.

Plus...if it helps me get closer seriously 2.0 (im still far far far away) im all for it.

Level 86 right now so hopefully the wings come this time around

10x xp seems a tad flimsy compared to 31x xp.. Still it's for a while so hopefully get from 78 to about late 80s if i'm lucky :)

I got to rank 68 before xp events were even hear off in this game, and damn when i broke the 50 mark it took a long time. it took about 30 matches to go from rank 61-62 and that was doing amazing! lol People that are new to the MP should count their blessings with the 10xp event.

Only just managed to reach level 50 thanks to x31......and level 50 is 10% of the way to level 100??? hahaha yeah no wings for me anytime soon if they are only doing x10! common wheres the x100 event??

Just keep waiting. Epic is doing their best to help people get their wings because you get something special for earning them in Gears2. The more people who have their wings, the more people who are going to buy Gears3 to get their reward. 100x is coming, maybe even more.

I got Seriously 2.0 within a month of the game's release by Brumak grinding, but this isn't a bad idea. I already earned my wings during the Labor Day event, so good hunting to all those who still are chasing these achievements!

Still working on the wings... quite a pain in the a$$. I love Gears, but I can't stand its multiplayer, it's really boring. I got to level 47 the first "out of the ceiling" XP eventthis year, 53 the next one, and just 55 on Halloween (got something like three hours in horde and quit). There's no helping this, I enjoy much more Halo as MP...

Nice! I found a nice wingman for Gears on XP event and went from 64 to 81(halfway there^^) in 2 days alone! Here is to hoping I get to 90's during this 10xp week^^

I don't even bother with Seriously as I was reset twice and played only multi since. Currently at some 2000 kills lol

He said there's some award for earning rank 100 (wings) in Gears 2 MP that unlocks in Gears 3. Your questioning it made you seem puzzled, I.E. didn't know about it. I was agreeing with you but I also just don't care about the award at all.

Gears 2 was not as good as Gears 1 but at least they made an effort to fix it and learn from their mistakes (providing us with a beta will greatly improve the games final build).

I got on early this morning and all the wrenchs could shoot a shotgun blast from their bodies people were dying in wave 1 after that I shut it off. Unless they fixed this I think they made it harder.
