EA has announced that its signed independent developer Trapdoor, whose first game will be sci-fi stealth action title 'Warp' for the Xbox Live Arcade. That's all that's currently known about the game for now, with the details being kept firmly under wraps for the time being. However, the press release does have some nice quotes about the new agreement.

"Working with EA Partners allows us to expand our distribution to a much larger audience while still being able to retain our creative vision and identity," said Ken Schachter, Founder of Trapdoor. "As an independent studio we are thrilled with the opportunity to leverage the expertise and talent of EA's publishing organisation to bring our very first game on console to life."

"One of our goals at EA Partners is to seek out the leading independent developers within the downloadable games market and publish their titles to a wide audience," said Jamil Moledina, Outreach Director, Business Development at EA Partners. "We are thrilled to add Trapdoor to the EA Partners family and bring this best-in-class sci-fi stealth action title to gamers everywhere."

So, everybody's happy. Warp will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade in summer 2011.

Sci-Fi stealth action sounds like it could be an interesting mix. I thought I heard it would be top down as well. Hope they don't keep the wraps on this for too long; I'd like to see more.

Says someone who paid a shitload of money for Black Ops which is just another rape of the CoD franchise instead of something new and maybe actually good.
