Good news!Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 11:43 AM
Good news as it was very unclear, shame it took until near the offer end for the final word to come through from MSTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 11:43 AM
Well I've already spent 2400+ points this month on new things so I'm all right but maybe some discounted stuff would be nice too.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 11:47 AM
I've already bought Sonic 4, Comic Jumper (best game ever), L4D2 The Sacrifice, and the Undead Nightmare for Red Dead Redemption....so yea I'm pretty sure I spent more than 2400 lolTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 11:49 AM
Glad for the reminder as I've bought Claptrap's New Robot Revolution and Undead Nightmare but had forgotten about this deal.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 11:49 AM
I need points so I can buy, couple arcade games i been keeping in mind, and that undead nightmare.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 11:49 AM
I knew about this all along, but it's funny, how you would post it at the last week of October... Then again, all anyone had to do is head over to xbox forums...Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 11:49 AM
sweet, I wasn't sure if I was gonna have to buy extra stuff but I bought pretty much every deal of the week this month on top of the L4d2 and Alan Wake DLC so I should be good.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 11:52 AM
I think it's still BS that 'Games on Demand' don't count.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 11:57 AM
so does super meat boy count since it was discounted?Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:06 PM
niice...i bought the alan wake crackdown 2 and left 4 dead 2 dlc so far...the borderlands dlc will top off the 2400 =)Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:07 PM
@wxJimG why would you even buy games on demand? They're way overpriced compared to what you can buy brand new in store. I mean AUD$99.95 for non GOTY edition of Fallout 3 when I could pick up the GOTY for $60 brand new in store, what a joke.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:08 PM
#9 serves you right for buying a game on demand! I didnt think anyone w bought those.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:15 PM
I bought the DOTW and thought it counted anyway. Does Game purchases count? I bought a game there just to get it over 2400. ??? -WcG iFredy29Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:16 PM
Awesome, I don't have to spend any more then. Buying those MW2 map packs for 1200MSP was definitely a good idea after all! :)Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:17 PM
Wonderful news. Fact is, I'm still living inside the wrong nation. So guess who can't get the candy ? XDTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:19 PM
Need to buy Liars & Cheats, Undead Nightmares, Claptrap Avatar Item and I'll see what else I can pack in for the deal.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:24 PM
Well with Comic Jumper, Super Meat Boy, Sonic 4 and Alan Wake DLC, im close to 4000 spent .... Think I need to lay off for a while haha!Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:25 PM
Just as confirmation, Super Meat Boy at 800MSP instead of it's 'normal' price of 1200MSP also counts: Question: http://api.twitter.com/NXEwallpapers/status/28809360702 @XboxSupport I heard DOTW counts towards the October MSP rebate. Does that mean Super Meat Boy at 800MSP counts being as it's a sale price? Reply: http://api.twitter.com/XboxSupport/status/28809443402 @NXEwallpapers Yes. ^BATuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:32 PM
Thanks:)Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:33 PM
I wish it could count multiple times as I've actually spent A LOT this month so far and am probably close to hitting 2400 a second time over. Oh well, I still have 800 points coming to me and that's awesome.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:36 PM
As far as I remember, Rock Band Exports don't count towards this do they? I've already imported Green Day to my library and will be doing Rock Band 2 on Friday for RB3, so it'd be nice if that all added up :/ Can anyone confirm this?Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:42 PM
What do you mean "everyone"? Shouldn't that be "the people that didn't read it correctly the first time and got the wrong impression"?Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:42 PM
Does anybody know if the Medal of Honor Onlinepass count towards that 2400? I guess it was listed as an Add-On but im not 100% sure...Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:48 PM
very nice 8)Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:53 PM
Cool, im gonna buy the red dead collection 2400-1600=800, and the alan wake dlc 800-560=240, meaning i can buy a 800/560 MS dlc and get money for it :DTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 12:56 PM
I already spent my 2400 without deal of week, and now i spent near 3k with it. Gona get reach dlc with the 800 points back.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 01:02 PM
Remember the October rebate offer that's been running throughout this month? Remember how x360a assumed Deal of the Week purchases didn't count towards your 2400 Microsoft Point total to earn the 800 Points back? Well, it turns out we were idiots and should have done some research instead of posting false information that is read by hundreds of people. Seriously x360a is part the blame for the rumor in the first place.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 01:12 PM
spent more than $60 already wish i could get 1600 back instead of just 800 :(Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 01:14 PM
I think I hit 2400 by the second week of October :| I have since stopped spending all this money on Arcade games, well I say that but I reckon come tomorrow there will be another game I want to purchase there lol :( Does this count as being a shopaholic or something?Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 01:26 PM
Already well over my 2400 between Sonic 4, Sonic Adventure DX addon and the Mass Effect 2 DLC from the DotW. 800 points here I come!Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 01:30 PM
@ 15 No, no it wasn't.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 01:33 PM
i just spent 1600 points on renting movies will that count? i was planning on spending the other 800 if it did but when i clicked on the promotion it said arcade and addons so let me know, thanx you guys are an awesome community:)Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 01:37 PM
@29. be glad you are getting a free $10 worth of points back at all! geeze....ppl bitch and moan about EVERYONE! even free stuff!Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 01:47 PM
@#28 No, Terrie Chilvers actually tweeted Deal of the Week and other discounted items didn't count towards the rebate, but I think they changed it. Look at http://twitter.com/cowfishdreams/status/26016325799# for proof. Definitely not the fault of x360a. Very glad to see this article, but I do have one minor complaint, my username is actually gerowniko, not gerwinko. Not that anyone cares, but well I do. =PTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 01:50 PM
how about the thousands of points I have purchased over the years? where's my points, microsuck?Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:03 PM
Castlevania HoD came out before this started, what about the Dlc for it though? I've bought that, how about Toy Box mode on Crackdown 2, I've also bought Super Meat Boy... Annnd Deadliest Warrior? Is the only one which is a part of this SMB?Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:04 PM
awesome! so i bought Comic Jumper, Alan Wake the Writer DLC and Super Meat Boy which mean i don't need to buy something else :)Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:04 PM
OH and Case Zero, was that in the deal also?Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:15 PM
Still haven't got my summer of arcade points promotion, and now there's another one? They always seem to have trouble with these things.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:17 PM
"Bologna" ^_^Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:27 PM
Very Nice Just a Question, if i've spend 4800, will I receive 1600 MSP back??Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:28 PM
L4Dx2, Alan Wake and RDR:UN = I'm good for my 800 space bucks... whenever they deem it so.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:30 PM
@#42 No, I'm 100% sure it does not.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:31 PM
Anyone know if the Cerberus Network from Mass Effect 2 counts towards this? It shows as a Game Add-on, but I just want to see if there's any confirmation? ThanksTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:36 PM
Cool looks like I've wasted points thanks to the earlier post saying it didn't count.Oh well.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:41 PM
Would've been nice if they cleared this up sooner : / But hey, it's money. And I got some sweet avatar pieces that I never would have pocked up. deadmau5 with a Claptrap, mhmmm.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:42 PM
Is there any notification that you hit 2400? I picked up l4d2's sacrifice Alan wake's writer, 2 me2 dotw add ons and the 3 dead rising 2 costumes for my 2400... just wondering if there would be an email or pm or something or if my notification would be seeing 800 points appear in my account next monthTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:43 PM
@#45 Well, Cerberus Network definitely is a game add-on and if you spend 1200 points on it then yeah it would only make sense if it would count.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:47 PM
@#49 Thanks for the info. (My brother got given Mass Effect 2 for free, all he has to do is purchase Cerberus Network to get the extra achievement, otherwise 1200 for that is a rip-off).Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 02:58 PM
could've SWORN this was already specified. I'm not sure about deals like Super Meat Boy being offered for 800 or the bundled red dead for 1600. they are "deals" but im not sure if it is the same thing.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 03:14 PM
I bought a shitload of Rock Band songs and paid $20 to export Lego RB and RB2. I hate to jump into the "DOES THIS COUNT?" crowd, but... does it? lolTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 03:20 PM
@wxJimG Why would games on demand count? YOU HAVE TO SPEND 2400 MICROSOFT POINTS! Games on Demand cost money for example if your in the US $19.99 or $29.99 Fail.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 03:22 PM
53: You can elect to pay for Games on Demand with MSP instead of cash. Fail on your fail.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 03:26 PM
is there a way to see what you've spent? I think I'm close, but not sure how close.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 03:37 PM
@55 Easiest way would to check your recent downloads from the Account menu, I guess. Then find out the price per item and add it up.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 04:03 PM
Too bad it takes up to Nov. 30th to receive your rebate. What a joke.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 04:21 PM
Bought Onslaught for 400msp, and I'm seriously considering RDR bundle for 1600msp, and spend 400+ on something else, and BAM!, Noble map pack "free". What should I buy for the last 400+? Super Meat Boy? Something else? Any tips? Any tips you got??Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 04:39 PM
When do I get the 800 points back? I already spent 2400 points.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 04:43 PM
@ 57# that sucks, I don't wanna wait that long LOL!Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 04:48 PM
Super Meat Boy + Costume Quest = free BioShock Minerva's DLC. I'll take it!Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 05:08 PM
so let me get this straight anything game related counts? do games on demand count as well?Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 05:24 PM

@59 The free points will be deposited automatically into your Xbox LIVE account after the end of the promotion period. Please allow four weeks for delivery, on or around November 30, 2010 Taken from the news article on Oct 1stTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 05:35 PM

u tell me this after i bought costume quest.... thanks for nothingTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 06:00 PM
Glad this was finally cleared, but considering there was absolutely no indication that it didn't count to begin with, I don't even know why this was an issue. I looked everywhere and found no "DISCOUNTS DON'T COUNT" on the 360 or the website. Just people going crazy and not reading correctly.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 06:07 PM
Does anyone know if we'll hear about if we're definately eligble after we've spent 2400? I've already spent 2560 but just to be safe i'd rather hear from them. Also isn't November the 30th the day Halo Reach Maps come out? If so delighted :DTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 06:40 PM
I'm getting the whole idea of this stupid, people are spending microsoft points to get Microsoft points back, that's like spending money to get SOME money back The only people that it would benefit is people who usually spend alot of points, and that's like a gift to those,Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 06:57 PM
i bought Comic Jumper=1200 points,The Maw for 800 points and Chime for 400 points this month,so i should be cool...TBH though i had forgot all about the offer until i read thisTuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 07:00 PM
I'm sure I will have spent much more than 2400 by the end of the month, but is there any way to find out how much I've spent total other than scowering through my history? I would love if somebody had an answer for this.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 07:05 PM
Already spent way too much on downloads this month so it'd be nice to see some of that back (granted late in November but, hey, 800 points back is something). :)Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 07:15 PM
This may sound really stupid, but I spent 2400 points this month and 400 of them i alredy had from before. So, is it use 2400 points to get stuff, or spend actual money to get 2400 points?Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 10:26 PM
Do avatar items count towards this promo? I bought the discounted N7 Armor and the Borderlands Weapon Crate and if they counted then I would be at the goal.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 @ 11:01 PM
i love how people are getting worked up on a gimmick by microsoft so people would by more stuff lol. i fell for it too, double lol.Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 12:17 AM
normally i hate when they do deals like this, but this month was CRAZY for dlc. i got left 4 dead 1/2: the sacrifice, the mass effect 2 dlc (on sale), and red dead redemption: undead nightmare... and that was all before i realized about this deal. too funny.Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 12:20 AM
and if i remember right, that "free" 800 pts should be coming just in time for the new halo: reach dlc. score!Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 02:27 AM
You mean some people never knew this?Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 03:24 AM
Does anyone know if the EA online pass (800 points) counts towards the 2400 points? I'm guessing it doesn't since its officially not a game add-on..Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 03:45 AM
Hell Yeah..... so now its official, that i need to download B2 - Addons, L4D Addons and one XBLA game of choice. This is freaking nice =o)Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 06:03 AM
Edit my comment @#14 I meant to say game room =/Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 06:12 AM
I have spent 2000, just need to find something for 400.Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 07:55 AM
@68: The fine print for the promotion says "...cannot be combined with any other offer", which is technically what DotW is, hence the confusion.Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 08:56 AM
ive spent like 8000MSP in sept. and Oct. man i coulda bought a game if it werent for DLC's but i do say i love them alot.Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 10:07 AM
I did spent some points on Games on Demand - picked up Bioshock at last, and cheaper than at stores too (then again around here all the game prices are comically high). So do Games on Demand count or not??Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 10:29 AM
the confusion was sites said DOTW DIDNT count to start with... luckily other places rightfully corrected themselves earlier than some websites...Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 11:07 AM
For anyone looking for something to buy to hit the goal of 2400, Super Meat Boy is loads of fun with a ton of content.Wednesday, October 27, 2010 @ 07:33 PM
Yay, so my mass effect 2 dotw purchase counted! With the undead nightmare combo pack, I have 2400 =).Thursday, October 28, 2010 @ 03:42 AM
Yo, is this still on ? and when it will end ?Thursday, October 28, 2010 @ 04:26 AM
And it is valid for europe too ?Thursday, October 28, 2010 @ 03:49 PM
Castlevania HoF was in this deal right?Friday, October 29, 2010 @ 12:46 PM
@#92 all arcade titles and game add-ons are 'in' this deal. It's not the specific games, it's the fact that you've bought them during October that counts.Friday, October 29, 2010 @ 06:47 PM
Anyone know if avatar items count? cause if they donnt il have to spend the few points i have left over and i'd prefer not toTuesday, November 02, 2010 @ 07:12 AM
Does anyone know when we get the 800 points back?
Tuesday, October 26, 2010
Remember the October rebate offer that's been running throughout this month? Remember how everyone thought that Deal of the Week purchases didn't count towards your 2400 Microsoft Point total to earn the 800 Points back? Well, it turns out that it was complete baloney.
It has come to our attention that Deal of the Week purchases do count towards your cumulative 2400 MSP total, which means you can spend your points on pretty much anything you want and get your 800 Microsoft Point rebate back as a thank-you.
Thanks to some marvellous inquisitive work [thanks, gerwinko], the Xbox Social Media Editor for Europe tweeted the following, "Hello. There was a bit of confusion over that - final word is that DOTW does count towards the 2400 points for the October offer."
Xbox Support has subsequently backed that up by tweeting that, "We have checked on this, and DOTW purchases will count."
So, there you go. You can take that as official then. It's just annoying that there's now only five days left to spend our 2400 Microsoft Points. Should be simple enough... Take a look at this week's content to see if there's anything you fancy.
