Shadows of the Damned Announced at TGS [Updated With Trailer & Screens]

Grasshopper Manufacture's Executive Director Suda 51 and prolific Creative Producer Shinji Mikami took to the stage at EA's Tokyo Game Show press conference earlier, to announce 'Shadows of the Damned' - something the developer is calling a psychological action thriller.

Apparently, Shadows of the Damned will combine Suda 51's "punk rock style" with Mikami's survival horror heritage with the Resident Evil series and recent experience on Vanquish for the game's intense action packed sequences set in hell. Ostensibly, a dark shooter with dynamic environments, Shadows of the Damned also features music from Silent Hill's Akira Yamaoka, so it should be pretty 'damn' scary.

Shadows of the Damned will be published by EA Partners and is slated for release sometime in 2011. Check out the TGS announcement trailer and first screens in the gallery.

Judging by the weapons in the trailer this game isn't going to be very scary =/. Does look fun though.

Maybe some AHH pop scare factors but that's about it.

Yeah have 2 agree with Citizen666....i like the idea but just doesnt look like its been made very well....dont know why the japs get so hyped about crap like this

I am kind of disappointed.

Mikami, Suda and Yamaoka all make it sound interesting, but the trailer wasn't nearly as awesome as I was hoping for. And I don't really like that character, making it hard for me to want to play him.

Akira Yamaoka did great on Silent Hill, only played the first game, but listened to all the soundtracks. =)
If nothing else the music will be sweet!

Doesn't look that bad, kinda intrigued. What I really want tho is either a sequel or a remake of killer7! Totally amazing n highly underrated game.

I dunno about the psychological thriller tag slapped on it. Looks like it's going to be cross between RE and Gears. Graphics are amazing and will defo get soundtrack, seeing as it is made by MR Yamaoka. Still survival horror suits it better IMO...
