In Stores This Week for North America

Hello and welcome to another edition of "In Stores This Week for North America" -- Only one this week, but a great one. Essentially the 5th installment of the Burnout saga, boasting for the first time an open world to drive around before entering the various races.

  • Burnout Paradise (E, $59.99)
Sadly that's it for this week, but January usually is pretty slow after the holiday rush. See you next week.

UPDATE: I was looking at some stuff on Burnout and found a post on a fansite with about 30 cars straight from the game. Check them out here

Is anyone else excited about this game? I've always been a big fan of the Burnout series. Looking forward to this one as well!

And Zef, even though I'm from North America, I couldn't agree more. It should just be "In Stores This Week" and then Burnout Paradise (North America, Europe, etc..) and list all games coming out for all geographic continents.

The crashes seem dumbed down from previous installments. The addition of the FreeBurning was a very nice surprise however.

I'm not a hardcore fan of Burnout, but the games have always been addicting in a way. Burnout 3 was the best in my opinion. The games are hard as well.

It looks ok, but not something as big as Vegas 2, so I'll just keep my money for that.

It was alright, the demo didn't really impress me much. The crashes are way too slow; don't get me wrong, they're still beautiful. It just seems to me like this game gets worse and worse with every installment. Burnout 2 was perfect, I could play that all day. Now, I can't really stand it.

@Pants or anyone else this concerns.

I see that your stuggling with UK releases so I'll post some sites that we have that tells us when games are out in the UK

Play.com
Amazon.co.uk
game.co.uk
gamestation.co.uk

those are just some of the sites that tell you when games are out best place thats easiest though is play.com

I think this one will be the easiest one to use for uk/euro releases since it's rather acurate and easy to use.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/ (at the bottom of the page) And play is wrong on some of the release dates for example to human and end war.

Play.com is awful, says a few games come out this month that were delayed until Q2; Gamespot UK and Gamefaqs are bas as well, both have the Lost game coming out next week; GAME looks like the best option... thanks. I will be doing my best to include UK dates in my weekly segment from now on.

Hey Pants why not just go on Game.co.uk & then go into the 360 section, they always have release dates there for when games are coming out :)

I like Burnout, but I'll probably hang back on this one. I need to save up for Lost Odyssey

At Pants:

Head over to Gamefaqs.com, those guys are very tightassed about their content. And thanks to that; They're the most reliable too.

The European players will get it the 25th of Jan.
