Why are so many people bitching about MW2! It had the best single player action as it was down to skill as there was a numbered amount of enemies compared to failures like WaW which was all about chucking smokes and pegging it to the next checkpoint! the online of MW2 was stable and provided good gameplay fun (dont play Cods online as dont like the idea that if your new to it you have a shit gun and shit perks, more of a Gears fan online!)
All in all hope they follow in MW2 footsteps :D |

I'm not sure why everyone suddenly hates CoD. Modern Warfare 2 is really the only stain on the series' record. World at War was amazing (The best in the series in my opinion, and not just for zombies!), CoD4 was also amazing. Three was debatable but I enjoyed it. Two was great, and one was great. The sudden hatred is totally unnecessary.
On a side note, I have my Hardened edition reserved. I think it's going to be the best CoD just for it's time period, which I find fascinating on it's own. The campaign is going to be interesting, zombies is back, and multiplayer looks chaotic and fun, so I'm down. |

@2 - IW Failed on MW2, Treyarch did not fail on WaW so didn't expect anything less then full backing of black ops.
@32 - Your right WaW was amazing. I loved the multiplayer and everything they added to MP so i'm looking forward to Black Ops. I finally got rid of my copy of MW2, finally got fed up of MP and that says a lot considering CoD is basically the game i play most of the year. |

@2 MW2 didn't fail, IW failed. This is Treyarch. You don't see any glitches in WAW because Treyarch stays on top of them. I still play WAW, and I got rid of MW2 months ago.
@17 Nobody said the campaign wasn't good, the multi sucks, which is the only thing people play since there's no coop campaign (like Treyarch's game had :).) And why do people keep saying gears is glitch-free??!! Gears of one of the glitchiest game out there!!! |

I'd like to know why people hate MW2. Apart from saying glitchers/modders. Yeh they spoil it. But they don't stop me from having a good time on the game. They don't seem to have an advantage.
Fact is...those people were still around in cod4. You just didn't hear about it as much.
MW2 was ruined because of stupid little kids thinking they are some sort crazy hacker(because thats cool right?) LOL
This game should be good, but i actually hope it's not too good. I'm not ready to let go own MW2 yet. I have put a lot of time in to it.
This looks like a direct port with some cosmetics changed other things added. |

If you prefer COD over Halo your just some stupid bastard who likes Realistic war games, which atm theres WAY TOO MANY OF. At least Halo is unique and different, plus doesn't focus on the weapons of now and the designers actually have to use their fucking brains to design the weapons etc.

@45, that's the first 8 months. "They stay on top of them" doesn't mean it came out as a glitch-free game. It means whenever one was discovered, they fixed it. Unlike MW2.

@2: MW2 and WaW. 2 game losing streak. 3 strikes and they're out though. I'm not getting the game for 2 reasons: It's Treyarch, the maker of WaW, and MW2 was broken as hell.
@7: They will start making good CoD games again when they learn some fucking balance. Yeah, CoD4 was good, one of my favorite games out there, but it still had shit for balance. Here's some imbalanced weapons in the past CoD games:
CoD4: M16, MP5, M40A3, P90. M16/MP5 were the worst of them all, and that game would have been SO much better without them.
WaW: The MP40 was the worst of them, but almost ALL the SMGs in that game seemed to be much stronger than everything else. They really took the "automatic weapons were a major impact in WW2" a little far. It was a game! Screw history and throw in balance! And the tanks? Wow, what a bad idea.
MW2: Where to start... OK. Just going to say the first class straight out. The M16, the ONLY burst weapon in CoD4, was imbalanced. So what do they do? They throw in THREE burst weapons. The Raffica, the FAMAS, and they bring back the M16 for some reason. Then you have the UMP45. The tryhard SMG. One of the only guns in the game that you can use a silencer WITHOUT stopping power and still kill people in 3 shots, cross-map, with a fully automatic gun. Seriously, WTF? This is the #1 most OP gun in MW2. OK, moving on. The ACR... Yea, good idea. Give an ASSAULT RIFLE perfect accuracy/ decent speed/ and decent firepower. Wow, a noob gun if i ever saw one. Then there's the SCAR, which is pretty much the ACR with slowed down firerate, decreased magazine capacity, and doubled damage. I really don't know whats worse, the ACR or the SCAR? And ONEMANARMY/DANGER CLOSE noob tubes. When will they change these? I guess I shouldn't care though, because THEY WILL NEVER FIX THIS GAME.
OK, final thought (not like Jerry Springer though, even if the candidates are all white trash)
CoD4 was good, put aside imbalances, because it was something new. Great multiplayer, singleplayer, and well, what else is in a game?
WaW was CoD4, bent over 50 years in the past, and put in worse balance and supported noob gameplay. Not anything new, and the tanks in the begginning ruined it for me.
MW2 took the bads from WaW and CoD4 and through them into a meat grinder. Any chunks that came out, they put in the game. Lets just say they missed the prime cuts. Balance is broken in this game, and thats why people hate it.
CoD Black Ops.... Following up on 2 pretty bad games, i'm going to have to pass this one up for a while. If I hear that it's a decent game with balanced gameplay and no WaW/Mw2 shit, maybe i'll get it. Or if Treyarch promises everyone that they will PATCH THEIR GAME, I will get it. The next CoD game to have balanced online gameplay could easily be the top shooter, or even game of the year.

Make you laugh how successful Treyarch are doing with their COD games now. Even outshining the unbelievable stats that Modern Warfare 2 has produced.
I'm happy for them. But how long ago was it that people were slating World at War, and saying Treyarch made crappy CODs?
People soon start changing their tunes. I guess its the more modern warfare setting that Treyarch have chosen this time that has kept everybody happy. If it was another WWII game I'm sure everybody would be going mental. |

@52. Take a look at the cod4 leaderboards and you will see. They are prob even more messed up now.
Maybe the tricks they had back then werent as good as they are now.
But for real. I have never seen anyone with a walking ac-130, teleport glitch or any other glitch for that matter.
So it doesnt spoil the gameplay at all. heartbeat sensors and noobtubes spoil it. People with no skill at all. But then that happens on all types of games.
Parents should just not let there kids play this. Kids spoil these games. |

I still play MW and MW2 and I still enjoy both games. I dont play COD3 or World at War because I didn't like the multi as much. I have high hopes for this instalment. I just hope the bad guys in single player dont keep respawning while you slowly creep to the next checkpoint cos that shit ain't fun.
As for the Multi, the vids look like MW2 in a different setting, and as I said above, I like MW2 so happy days |

Damn, so much hate on MW2. Sure online play can be frustrating at times, but I for one still love the game. You just have to adapt your play style to the idiots around you.
As for COD: Black Ops, I think it looks fun and will definitely be picking it up. |

| I am a huge fan for CODMW2, that game challegnes your skill to see who really is the best shooter out there. For anyone to say "I hate CODMW2 or thinks it is a bad game." You just hate the game since you are not good at it, so go find another game that fits your criteria of being a good game. I look forward to the upcoming COD Black Ops. The game looks amazing. Also anyone that commented on this forum saying CODMW2 was a good game, i want to personally say thank you for being a good player and someone who does not complain about dieing too much. @79 LMAO, are you serious? Because someone doesn't like a game they suck at it? If you want a game that challenges skill to see who the best shooter is you need to play a game where everyone has the same guns, equipment, etc., at the start of every match. As soon as you add in rank unlocks for weapons and different perks it's all about who has played the most and has the best perks and guns unlocked.
I'm going to give Black Ops a shot by renting it first, I loved COD:WaW and COD4's MP and if it's like those COD's I'll end up buying it, if it's like MW2 I'll pass on it. |

im definatley picking this up day one. proberly from asda or summit for cheaper. imo this years cod is a little steep in price considering ever other game out is £5+ less on release.
i personally have loved every cod since 4. i didnt really understand when a giant hate wave went on waw cause it was a great game. every year they improve on the last and most people have there eyes still glued on cod4 anything else thats not that is shit. totally uncalled for

if i mispelled something, i was in a rush today. I am sorry if i offended anyone in anyway, and if all you do is correct someone on their spelling then go find a better hobby to spend your time with because that is sad that you need to correct my post. Next time i will hire an editor to fix my mistakes before I post something on the forums.
Anyway getting back to the topic back at hand. Just like CODMW2, the game tried to counter every move someone made. Black Ops will follow CODMW2 footsteps and update possibly new ideas to put into the Black Ops game. Black Ops looks amazing in every way. Im looking forward towards September 1st when more details will be shown to the public about the multiplayer experience for Black Ops. So everyone lets keep the negative comments about Cod Black Ops to ourselves because mostly everyone is judging a book by its cover. You never know you might end up going to the store and pick up Black Ops after you see more details pertaining to the multiplayer experience for Black Ops. MW2 wasnt a bad game campaignwise. onlinewise...could have been better. im not hating the game it's just that it could have been less glitchy....and the fact that little 10 year olds play the game and are annoying as hell. oh and the noob tubing.
WaW was actually good in my books. dont know y people are bashing that game. jminor glitches here and there but were actually fixed.
i never ran into glitchers on any of them 2 games. only 1-3 on mw2. i havent played mw2 in a while tho. kinda got tired of it and the map pack prices are pretty much ridiculous!! they should have just done more spec opts missions other than maps people camp at like little dicks.
that being said, im HOPING that black opts' mp has very little spots to camp. and im hoping that black opts is as god as they anticipate it |

| as much as i used to like halo which was all i played i liked call of duty better after it, i grew up with halo but i just got tired of halo it got repetitive quick. i will preorder black ops specifically for the 4 maps. halo reach will be a bargain bin game for me or a Christmas buy at the earliest. And besides black ops will have a beta for EVERYONE to play not oh i have halo odst...stupid... but yes with a beta comes clarity really, hacked servers and such shouldn't be a problem...well out of control. Okay, MP aside, what exactly was "fail" about MW2? ALL MP is fail. You play for 2hrs, then if you don't go all obsessive about it and play 18hrs a day, you fall behind in the rankings, and get nerfed by perked assholes. You know, if they just took MP out all together, people would have a LOT less to bitch about. 95% of the whing, bitching and "fail" calling is directed at MP. I agree, MP on a whole, is total fail.
The MW2 campaign... you know, the actual GAME itself... was great. My only complaint about MW2 since release, was that the Spec Ops DLC never happened.
As for CoD:BO, my Prestige pre order is in, so I'm good. |

| did you follow the story or just skip the scenes between missions? I don't know if it's even feasible or not but they pulled a variation of the stunt from Tomorrow Never Dies. I agree the EMP was weaksauce & half-assed & the campaign was short. It was not epic but it was entertaining... but at least it didn't rain grenades on veteran. |

| I did listen to the "scenes". That has bugged me about COD also, I like cut scenes. I don't want to try to be filled in on whats going on when shit is blowing up. And I do agree with you on the grenades, in fact this veteran was weak. It wasn't hard at all, but the online is broken, and I just can't justify spending $60 on a game for a short campaign and online full of bullshit, not with two kids and a wife in college. Like I said, if I get it, and that's a big if, I will wait until it drops in price. |

well when you're playing multiple characters and bouncing back and forth between people it's a little hard to filled in with full blown cut scenes. I agree online was broken... horribly. But that's what happens when the company that made the game walks out after the head guys get fired for whatever reason. Fixes and updates come too little & way too late and the experience is ruined for many. While I was disappointed in the online multiplayer it wasn't bad enough to completely ruin it for me and as everyone knows it was bad. One of the first things they needed to fix was the respawns in FFA and the infinite grenades with OMA. It's frustrating as hell, it was bad enough to dash my desire to go to a full 10th prestige but it was not enough to keep me from playing it.
MW2 could have been a great game... but business got in the way of it & the game and the community are the ones that suffered. |

| I think the difference between mw2 and cod 4 is just the Killstreaks, made the game so much more balanced. Thats what wrecks mw2 for me, too many ways to die. On Cod4 it was just UAV Airstrike and Helicopter, nice and simple. MW2 took it a little too far. Bring back 3 5 7!. | @125 Thank you. Sure there are a lot of glitches but it didn't take away from the campaign being sweet or the fun I had with friends playing multiplayer. Some people just have a bad attitude about games. This is a different game produced by a different company that is not having any issues with its publisher. Infinity Ward has been and is having trouble with Activision for years. Treyarch on the other hand has been getting better and better and better at game making. This is a definate buy and I am looking forward to September 1st for the MP show and tell. |

The problem with Modern Warfare 2 is IW didn't want to do it so their effort clearly was not in it. They fought tooth & nail for COD4 and wanted to move on to something else... but Activision had them contractually obligated after the unexpected success of COD4.
Activision was completely against COD4 b/c it was a modern setting & aimed at consoles instead of the PC.
I liked W@W... good campaign, good multiplayer & zombies. The problem is as far as I can tell Treyarch has simply been taking the latest IW game, re-skinning it and throwing in a new mode. I'm looking forward to Black Ops but it's hardly going to be new & original |

As much as call of duty annoys me with certain types of gamers, glitches and so on, i can never say im done with it! i remember the first night everyone was able to play it my god was it amazing i even manage to get my rank to 852 in the first 2 weeks!
Besides that theres nothing wrong with alittle faith? have an open mind and try to see the good side to Black Ops.
@ anyone who bought Halo ODST that was the biggest scam in xbox history and nearly stopped me from buying reach but faith kicked in and changed my mind!

seriously... the ODST campaign by itself for $60 would have been a jip. ODST, firefight AND the complete Halo 3 map collection was worth $60 to me easily.
I loved firefight! I know it was a shot at competing with Horde but it was still fun as hell. |

Right this is the thing about this forum.
There are sooooooo many comments about cod being shit and that they are going to go to halo when in general fact there are no similarity's between the 2 games.
halo - you can jump such a ridiculous height in an armour that weighs like 1000 pounds which is just stupid in my opinion and is also based in space and located in the future.
cod - based on earth and is about military performance and guns that don't fire fucking plasma.
im not siding with anybody (im mainly a cod guy) but every1 that comes on saying that they are not going to buy this then what was the point in coming on the forum to begin with you are just bored and have no life because u keep trying to play cod and get raped so what im saying is everyone that talks about halo on cod forums are TROLLS!!!! get your fucking like sorted!!!!!! |

| cod is good but honestly just like guitar hero and halo they are overdoing the franchise i mean mw2 didnt even come out that long ago. theres not enough anticipation if anything they should change titles instead of call of duty some other shite like pokemon or some shit i dont know its just getting old already |

| @13 I think you're completely right. Activision made the cod series a cash cow. Gonna stick with REACH and New Vegas for this fall, such better games that give so much more back to the fans (15 bucks for 4 maps that were already in cod 4, what a waste of money, Activision are sucking the money out of all those persons who should experience better games). |
