Gamescom 2010: Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Kinect Challenge Mode Revealed

Get your wands out everyone, because Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows - Part 1 is getting a challenge mode that will use Kinect for casting offensive and defensive spells.

James and Oliver Phelps, better known as the Weasley twins stepped onto the Gamescom stage in a puff of smoke (seriously) to demonstrate the new mode, flapping their arms around to aim and project magic towards enemies.

Perhaps Kinect will have applications outside of dancing, stroking animals and sports games then.

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows - Part 1 is out in November 2010.

OT: love me some harry potter games, so this will be good. But not a big fan of kinect, so will have to wait and see about that part of the game.

Not sure if these games are aimed at kids anymore but should be pretty good for younger players ... Anyone over 16 does it though and it does get pretty gay.

@9, are you kidding me, of course there will be. I was relieved when they said Fable3 wasn't going to have Kinect support right away.

My wand is already out...

If this game was fully integrated with connect, I would consider buying it. Imagine, walk; your character walks, pull out your wand; your character pulls out his wand. Stroke your wand...Well you get the picture.

Seeing how Kinect can recognise speech, you could yell all the spells too. Tell me that doesn't sound awesome. lol.

Prediction time.

Xbox 360 Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows will be a wii-version port, so that EA don't have to spend as much money on creating it. You heard it here first.

What a piece of trash.

The PS3 is on fire showing A LOT of new games, FUN games and we just get Kinect and its garbage.
