2K Announces Claptrap's New Robot Revolution [With Screens]

2K and Gearbox inevitably bit the bullet today and tried to hide the truth no longer - not that they did anyway - as they announced the fourth piece of Borderlands DLC: Claptrap's Robot Revolution after last week's mega leak.

As rumoured, the fourth piece of DLC will indeed follow the Claptrap revolution, as the vault hunters get sandwiched between those pesky little robots and the Hyperion Corporation. To stop the Ninja Assassin and his army of homicidal robots, the vault hunters must team up with Hyperion to put a stop to them and earn themselves another hefty payday.

The press release doesn't really offer much in terms of new details, aside from the fact that players can now earn an additional 10 skill points and 3 new backpack slots. It does however confirm a lot of details from last week's leak, including, the fact there are over 20 missions, local enemies that have been "Claptrap-ified" and there are plenty of original boss battles on offer.

Claptrap's New Robot Revolution is scheduled for a September release for 800 Microsoft Points.

"Additional 10 skill points"... sounds an awful lot like another level cap rise to me, unless there are a lot of missions with skill point rewards. I look forward to kicking Fidel Claptrap's butt.

This will be awesome! This explains the recent price drop on Deal of the Week. It took them too long to explain why the Claptrap goes into his interplanetary ninja assassin mode at the end of the game.

I havn't played Borderlands since January I think..
Glad I waited really, i'm looking forward to picking up all of the DLC's in one go and having a nice few hours of bonus gameplay.

while i'm not a fan of dlc, as i feel i buy half the game on disc & half in dlc.

i must say, for the price, gearbox gives you your monies worth! it is the ONLY game i own all the dlc! great job gearbox, cant wait!

Yes!!! I love borderlands. It was one of my favorite games from 2009 and after I beat the game and all of the dlc's with all of the achievements, it has just been sitting on my shelf. Glad to hear this.

Well, I've reset my playthroughs so I ended up being able to get all my skill points and backpack SOU again, anyway. >>

regardless, this looks cool. While I would have liked to perhaps side with the Claptraps instead, it should be pretty damn cool if you're actually in a firefight with them. =D

now im just wondering how many of my weapons are disappear when the new dlc comes around, as you never really know a weapon is 100% legit unless you opened the box or killed the enemy that dropped it yourself, but i have gotten tons from the community, i will be basically depressed if i lost almost all of my weapons, dark orange for the win

The dlc will most likely be AMAZING and twice as good as General Knoxx( not saying I didn't like it) and the claptrap idea is great. The only thing is the release date is next month, and the likly hood is it will be near the end of September. But i;ll be playing halo reach almost all time and wont play borderlands at all. They really should of released it earlyer.

I hope we get to face off against the ClapTrap Assassin from the end of the actual game.

@78 Knoxx is definitely worth getting.
As for Moxxi, it depends. I love playing through the Tournament with my friends just to have fun, but most people here seem to hate it. The achievements for it are pretty difficult to solo, so if you have someone to play it with, I think it's worth it. Also, there's a Bank where you can store some weapons you don't use, but don't want to toss.

im one of the few that loved all the b-lands dlcs. ( 14+ hours ginding mad moxxi, yes please and thank you.) but i do rather like the missions. got a ton of points saved for this one. since before it was even leaked. Im so excited. Gonna get it first chance i get. Also, achievements wanted but not needed for this one.

Ho. Ly. Crap. Day 1 download for sure. This looks phenomenal. I love 2K's sense of humor in general in borderlands, but the claptraps are often my favorite.

I love Borderlands and this is a definite buy. However I hope the end game is better balanced than it was in Knoxx. I loved the expansion (level cap rise, weapons, tons of missions, enemies, etc) but it left you at the end with only Craw (a terrible boss imho) to fight in order to gain the best loot (unless you glitched the armory which you basically had to to even gear for Craw).

they have confirmed this to be the last DLC for borderlands so expect epicness!!

also it is runoured the 10 skill points was a typo and it is actually only 2, but this isn't gospel so don;t quote me I read it on the Gearbox forum.

They did also say no level cap increase....but who cares about that, this game is one of the better 360 titles so more content is welcomed!!

@40 this was pretty much confirmed ages ago, lol notice who there is still space for them to make it upto 1750GS

This is a deffinate buy! bought moxxi's first was like 'wtf!?' zombie island fixed this feeling an knoxx was badass. Also can't wait to pretty much max out every skill XD, I think I'll try and get a team together for moxxi's...

The only complaint I had with the other DLC is that Z.I. and the S.A. only had one New-U station in the entire thing. That made for a lot of backtracking and I seriously hope they fix that.

they have to add on levels or its not fair, also new items are obvious. Hope this one relies on co-op just like mad moxxi did, the others were solo-able a bit too much. Apart from crawmerax. This seems a good buy, but will be over shadowed by reach. It should hopefully make some sales between when people get sick of campers and screaming kids on reach, and the release of black ops. Either way if i dont get it before 2011, its on my christmas games to buy!
