Ever since Splash Damage and Bethesda delayed their first-person shooter at this year's E3, the spring 2011 shooter, Brink, has ducked out of the limelight ever so slightly.

Today however, the British developer returns with their latest dev diary, where the team explores the game's premise and how that will play into the escalating combat.

"We wanted to make it so it wasn't just hero cops versus evil terrorists, because that's boring," said Brink's Lead Writer, Edward Stern, "And we didn't want to make it heroic freedom fighters up against the evil oppressive forces, because that's always boring and it's not how the world is. No-one thinks they're wrong. Nobody says "Yup, I'm evil. I oppress. That's pretty much all I do.""

The team in this latest dev diary explores this dynamic between the Ark's two opposing factions, as they both think they're in the right, as so often the case is with conflicts of this nature. Like Stern says, "No-one thinks they're wrong."

Brink will be one of the many titles on show for Bethesda at this year's Gamescom, so keep your ears close to the ground for our updated opinions on how the title is now shaping up.
