No lose there then.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 04:36 AM
good i thought kinect would ruin it anyway, its not a game for kinect it is a savage RPGThursday, August 05, 2010 @ 04:36 AM
*LossThursday, August 05, 2010 @ 04:37 AM
Is anyone else thinking "here we go again" says ther'll be kinect support, now he's scrapped it and we probably wont see the update until this time next year =PThursday, August 05, 2010 @ 04:37 AM
Thank god! So glad they didn't add it in when he basically said it's crap! I really want one but just can't find a single reason to get one.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 04:38 AM
Could this be because they know Kinect isn't worth putting time and money into their product? I pre-ordered Kinect, but decided to cancel and wait and see how things work out for it. I really don't want to waste £149 on another gimmick like the vision cam which apparently had "Full Support" with gaming companies and has only been used in 4 maybe 5 decent games?Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 04:47 AM
@6 what decent games are you talking about? i can only think of three and they are Rainbow six vegas 1&2 as well as Fight night round 4Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 04:48 AM
I think the role is going to be moving your torso and interacting with others. Molyneux emphasised the importance of "touch" in this game a while back. But generally, after launch = afterthought. Still not jumping on the Kinect bandwagon.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 04:51 AM
I wouldn't care if it had Kinect or not, I would have still played Fable III.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 04:54 AM
@7, what i meant to say was it was used in maybe 4 or 5 games. My bad :P, the only games where i found it beneficial was Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 for putting your face in the game Oo and for the achievements obviously. :)Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 04:59 AM
@7 @10 Burnout Paradise used it well. Some Tiger Woods games too, though just to put your face on your character and achieves.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 05:02 AM
Thank god...as long as they don't release Kinect exclusive DLC later on.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 05:08 AM
....aaaaand this is a bad thing?Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 05:19 AM
yay, now maybe ill buy the game.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 05:44 AM
@2, it's not a savage rpg, it's a double mild weak sauce rpg. Dragon age is savage. Bayonetta is savage. This is not savage.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 06:03 AM
I like the screenshot. And I like not having to own motion control to get the full game experience. And #15, it is so savage. Balverines, man. Don't forget the Balverines. Bayonetta is gamer smut and Dragon Age is gratuitous red cross blood pack spillage.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 06:36 AM
#6,#7#,#10, you guys are forgettin that arcade game that is free called totem ball.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 06:42 AM
This is great news. BTW, UNO and Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise also had camera support.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 06:50 AM
What?! Why is a british game being released in another country first!!? god dammit!Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 06:53 AM
:) thats good, I was worried there would be some kind of Kinect related achieves in fable 3. now there won't b or they will be in a DLC package. Can't wait for more fable :)Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 06:57 AM
i support microsoft in how they are trying to attract a new audience to the xbox but can they at least make it a little more legit and not have stupid little things said about. example.. at e3 some guy kept on saying 'the magig of kinect' how cheesy is that no regular gamer is going to buy that and parents who buy stuff for their little kids arnt gonna spend 200 extra dollars for an exbox with kinect when they can buy a wii for $200Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 07:01 AM
You're all forgetting the EPIC Vision Camera game "You're In The Movies!" They made such a big deal out of that, and now it's in bargin bins across the world. Just where Kinetic will be in a year or so from launch.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 07:02 AM
So microsoft wern't aware of the comments....LOL....looks like they're new baby is going to be an epic fail after all...makes me chuckle....all they had to do was release the thing with a decent price tag and I know I would have kept my pre-order for it, but they went and got greedy and now from what I'm reading more people hate it than love it and they haven't even played on it (this is also me...im just as guilty) I for one am glad a more main stream game is'nt coming out with Kinect Support...Can't wait for Fable IIIThursday, August 05, 2010 @ 07:17 AM
I like that. Alot. I won't be using Kinect and especialy not for Fable III. That would ruin the fun I think.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 07:23 AM
I'll actually consider getting it now it doesn't have kinect supportThursday, August 05, 2010 @ 07:34 AM
Thank god, no kinect for fable :DThursday, August 05, 2010 @ 07:35 AM
And nothing of value was lost... frankly the ONLY reason I'd get the kinect is if they released that full person cop shooter arcade game for it. If you don't know what I'm talking about then I cannot explain it to you.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 07:35 AM
Well this is a plus point for me. I'm still gonna wait to see the general reaction to the game before possibly buying it second hand. Fable 1&2 just didn't live up to the Lionhead hype imo. I'm not going to pre-order or buy on launch this time around.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 07:36 AM
Brilliant. This means they're focusing on the game rather than the gimmick of Kinect. Well done Lion head, I knew you wouldn't let me down.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 07:51 AM
It'll probably be added on as dlc in the futureThursday, August 05, 2010 @ 07:53 AM
Peter Molyneux talking out of his arse again? Who whould have thought.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 08:08 AM
@31 my thoughts exactly m8, the guy is the master of hype more so than bungie at least there games actually have what they say in them, fable was good, fable 2 was utter shite its a weak sauce RPG for the entry level RPG players.........alas i wont be playin fable 3 with or without kinect support....... just gimme Fallout New Vegas thats an RPG.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 08:44 AM
Thank God for that!Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 08:57 AM
Comment #22 has hit the nail right on the head!Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 09:00 AM
My prediction is that Fable 3 releases with no Kinect support, players are given time to complete the game, and then an update is released with Kinect-related achievements so that all of the 100%-ers will have to go buy Kinect to get the achievements. Saying "it might come later" in reference to Kinect makes me question buying this game - and I was planning on pre-ordering. When the existence of Kinect makes a person question whether or not they should purchase games . . . Kinect may not be having it's desired effect.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 09:06 AM
Either way fable 2 was a blast so im gonna buy this one to...Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 09:13 AM
lol this was the only reason that event remotely interested me in Kinect... nevermind.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 09:41 AM
Great another thread where everyone says kinect is a waste of time and will fail please save your comment we've heard it already. OT this doesn't surprise me they shouldntve even got peoples hopes up.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 09:41 AM
@22 You In the Movies Camera bundle actually sells for cheaper than the camera XP Although.. the camera was a bit shit on it.. didn't work right, but I hope Kinect does a bit better than what everyone's thinking, hopefully lighting isnt a problem.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 09:44 AM
To be honest, I knew this would happen. They're too keen to ship it out in a few months and there's no way they'd have Kinect support ready at that time. I just wish Peter wouldn't keep saying games will have this and that and end up shipping them without all of it. The man has too many ideas and never enough time to implement them.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 09:58 AM
@ 4 - I've been thinking that before Fable 3 was even announced. Who couldn't assume that Molyneux would shoot off his mouth yet again? He's screwed the pooch on every game since Black and White with empty promises.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 10:40 AM
MILO!!! NO!!! Who cares I wouldnt want to play Fable with kinect features....or any action adventure game for that matter...some games need to stay away from KInect and Im glad this is one of themThursday, August 05, 2010 @ 10:40 AM
Excellent, I was pretty worried they would shove some out of place motion stuff in there just to get kinect in there. Im looking forward to Fable III a lot more now that I know its been cutThursday, August 05, 2010 @ 11:20 AM
wasnt going to get kinect anyways. not worth it just to play a game a different way.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 11:55 AM
You have got to have lernt by now to take Peter with a pinch of salt... Fable is not an RPG its an adventure game with a tiny part of roleplaying, if you play it like an RPG your going to hate it. You have to soak up the enviroment, you cant say "Badgers riding teapots robbing a bank" didn't make you chuckle at least once wondering through bowerstone at night. Playing it CO-OP is another example by forcing your buddy to have drunken orgys with rent boys, prostitutes and all 7 of your wives simultaniously, Comparing it to fallout is like comparing team fortress to operation flashpoint. Noone has said anything about: "Microsoft meanwhile, were apparently unaware of Molyneux statements, but reiterated that he is still a strong supporter of Kinect and the hardware will still play a role in Fable III at some point. What that role might be however is under wraps and cannot be discussed "at this time"." Sounds to me like M$ were putting alot of eggs in the basket of Fable 3 to boost sales of Natal (Not kinect) and Peter has come to his sences that no gamer wants to be running around there room doing the vulgar thrust motion or the russian dance everytime they want to attract attention in game. (Funny at first but not after 20 times) Natal is an advanced I-toy at best and makes M$ look even more desperate to generate funds in there attempt to draw away the Wii's market with an idea probably thought up on a office night out when one guy got too drunk and watched minority report thinking he found a gaming revolution. I play games because i dont want to race around the nurburgring at 200mph getting shunted by my so called "friends" in real life and go head first into a tree, the same reason with boxing games, i don't want to be black and blue i just want to watch my guy do all the effort as i twirl the sticks around aimlessley, so why would i want to tire myself out after 10 mins sword swinging in fable or rolling around doing commando crawls in there FPS Natal games??? If i wanted to do that i would go outside and do it for real. As i stated its an advanced I-toy and the only reason to buy it is when you have friends over but then again for the same price i would much prefere a WII. Epic fail M$ ... Epic failThursday, August 05, 2010 @ 12:08 PM
That guy who always signs his name "~Bryce" and Webb made a bet about if Fable III and Kinect would be bundled together, and Webb guaranteed it would. The winner got to choose the loser's user title for a month or something. Wonder if they remember that bet?Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 12:54 PM
Really a Molyneux not coming with a feature that was stated before NOOO!! That's unheard of....Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 01:17 PM
I'm not getting Kinect so this doesn't affect me. I've got my Collector's Edition preordered though so now I just have to wait till it comes out!Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 01:23 PM
@15: Bayonetta isn't an RPG moron.. and DA was just crap.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 02:20 PM
@50 You're obviously the moron if you think Dragon Age was bad. You're probably just too young to care about it and just enjoy your stupid Call of Duty shooters. @2 Wasn't Fable III confirmed as more of an action adventure game with multiple episodes? It sounds like it ruined itself.Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 02:35 PM
...adding to the list of games with camera support...Facebreaker, and I am pretty sure Fight Night Round 4 (though I never bothered to hook my camera up for that one achv!) I wonder if Kinect will let you play a Vision game? There are always a few games/ achvs to clean up, and it would be stupid to have Vision AND Kinect hooked up at once!Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 03:09 PM
From Peter: "Kinect sucks and is going to fail but they're still paying me to say it is good I just don't have to include it in my game."Thursday, August 05, 2010 @ 06:17 PM
i'm actually looking froward to Fable 3 and wonder what role our Fable 2 saves will play in itSaturday, August 07, 2010 @ 06:10 PM
As long as there are no kinect specific achievements at any point Ill be happy, cant wait for this game to hit shelves!Sunday, August 08, 2010 @ 08:15 AM
i like it!Wednesday, August 11, 2010 @ 04:56 AM
i recon kinect would make a game like this worceMonday, August 16, 2010 @ 11:58 AM
For one it would kinda be cool, but hopping around everywhere in your room would get annoying, and if you recall the vision camera was popular for like 2 minutes then got old, and then there was the tony hawk ride skateboard which nobody bought and hade terrible rating, so what i suspect what will happen is in a few months after release it will get old and probaly sold for money for the next piece of crap.

Talking on the Engadget Show, Lionhead boss man Peter Molyneux has revealed that Fable III will not include Kinect functionality upon release.
He also subsequently told Joystiq that there may be some form of Kinect content available as a future update post-launch and that the Kinect-compatible elements initially built for the game just simply weren't up to scratch, and therefore consequently scrapped.
Microsoft meanwhile, were apparently unaware of Molyneux statements, but reiterated that he is still a strong supporter of Kinect and the hardware will still play a role in Fable III at some point. What that role might be however is under wraps and cannot be discussed "at this time".
Spoilsports...
Fable III is due for release on October 26th, 2010 in the US and October 29th, 2010 in the UK and Europe.
