Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet

THQ Announce Marvel Super Hero Squad: Infinity Gauntlet

Fans of the pudgy super-deformed cutesy Marvel Super Hero Squad rejoice, as THQ has today announced that it's bringing the Infinity Gauntlet storyline to the game, which will likely see a not-that-scary version of Thanos play a pivotal role, if it follows the original comic book story.

One thing is certain though. You'll be assembling a band of heroes in co-op to take on Doctor Doom's Lethal Legion and race to find the six Infinity Stones.

Featuring an all-new storyline that picks up after the second season of the cartoon show, Marvel Super Hero Squad: Infinity Gauntlet will enable you to master each character's Factor Power in three different game modes, Story Mode, Freeplay and Challenge. The idea is to combine each hero's powers and abilities to solve puzzles and fight through the minions of Doom. This is still very much one for the kids though.

Marvel Super Hero Squad: Infinity Gauntlet is currently awaiting a release window.

If its not for WII I'd probably check it out for (hopefully) easy achievements.

Pass. This is part of the Disney merger and it doesn't interest me. I'll leave this to the Cheevy Whores and the 6 year olds.

I read "Marvel" and was hoping for another good game like MUA or something. I set myself up for disappointment.

@5 Except Super Hero Squad pre-dates the merger...

Because what we really need are more pre-Disney Marvel games, like Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Rise of the Imperfects, Hulk, X2, X-Men: The Official Game.....Yeah, for every Wolverine or Ultimate Spider-Man there are 3 Ghost Riders,
but lets go ahead and blame Disney...

@ 12 - I don't blame disney at all for the merger. I'm actually pro-merger. I Thought I saw the title under a list of things that came from the merger. My mistake. Hell, Disney = Lots of $$$ = More funding for Marvel in total. Disney also made a statement that anything pre-merger would NOT be touched at all in any perspective. I'm trying to think of what the thing I was thinking of was. It was very similar to how the Super Hero Squad looks though.

@ 13 - Please explain since Comics and Super Heroes are widely considered "Kids fantasies". If your logic is true, then I'm a proud 27 year old screaming brat (minus the screaming and brat part).

Just saw a trailer for this game on the "The Super Hero Squad Show: Quest for the Infinity Sword: Volume 1" DVD.

It looks just like a kid version of Ultimate Alliance, with some lightgun parts (that might be only in the Wii version, otherwise it will just be analog control to move the crosshair).

Release date is said to be November in the trailer, so we should see more of it soon.
