Front Mission: Evolved Screens Show More Boxy Robots

Forgive us for being a tad cynical here, but once you've seen one giant robot shooting shit, you've seen 'em all. But here we have another batch of Front Mission: Evolved screenshots featuring yet more boxy lumps of metal smashing chunks out of each other and, yes, shooting stuff.

Nonetheless, we haven't had the opportunity to put together our own walking war machine, since, oooh, I don't know... the last Armored Core game, and Front Mission: Evolved has you well and truly covered in that department, with all manner of attachments and bits to fiddle around with and add to your tin-plated death tank.

Check out the latest set of 10 screenshots, which as you'd expect, feature big robots for the most part and a few humans to break up the mechanical monotony.

Front Mission: Evolved is stomping into stores in September 2010.

I want my robots like Code Geass, crazy fast! Time to upgrade the Mechs and maybe even take a few lessons from DMC or Bayonetta?
Anyways, i can dream can't I?

I kinda liked Armored Core, but I want something a little more Umph. and not just a 2 second booster that moves me slightly faster to dodge...

This is a way to take a great turn based tactics game and ruin it.

@9 Agreed

but i guess turn based games that require tatics are not the in thing anymore heaven forbid anyone has to think while playing a game and not rely on twitch reflex,

X-com.. another example though im holding judgement on that.. i really want it to be good lol played the orginal when it first came out

A demo would be nice for this game as im skeptical for the controls on this. @8 totatly agree they should make the mech style games like ZoE as those games were awesome :)

wow, what a coincidence. the person who wrote the article implied that robot games are played out and all you puppetheads fall right into line to agree with him. i don't know why i even bother reading the comments, 99% of the people that post on them are retarded.

As soon as I saw this story's headline, I thought, "Please, don't let it be Walker and yet another of his lame intros where he compares the series to a younger series like Armored Core."

-sigh-

Oh well, maybe next time it'll be Webb or anyone else who won't sound like he hacked out a few paragraphs at gunpoint and can be taken seriously.

Anyway, the screens are nice but ultimately meaningless. The only thing that matters is the quality of the final game. Until I have that on my Xbox, everything else is just so much fluff.

What's with all the hate for robot games? I notice that 99% of people who's profile I look at have never played either of the Armored Core games for 360, they are both very well done. America hardly gets any mech games, but you all act so tired of them, but are happy to jump on the 5 millionth recycled fps.

Front Mission has always had my favorite mech designs. I think the clunky, slower Wanzers are much more in the realm of possibility than most of the stuff you see in Anime.

We'll probably have mechs or something of the like by 2100.

Goooood god I miss that game... I hope they release it on XBLA, they shouldn't have many issues as it was on Xbox...

Well I gave this game a hammering when it was first announced as it looked like pure shite.

Now?

The screens look pretty impressive so they have obviously been working hard since the initial unveiling. I'm not really into Mechs or anything but Transformers War for Cyberton has really, REALLY suprised me with how much fun it is to be a robot war machine (FUCK IRON MAN 2(the game and even more so, the movie)). I may add this to my LOVEFiLM rentals list (Low priority of course).
