Get used to these achievement teasing posts, because with Bungie teasing them a handful at a time, it could be another 7 or 8 news posts before you know the full set. At least this time we have a little more info to bring you courtesy of Bungie's weekly update, including some Halo: Reach avatar items and Master Chief - although it's not how it sounds.

Let's clear the Master Chief stuff up first. In the weekly update post, Bungie teased every item visibile in the Armory on day 1 in a massive bumper Armory image. Two quick notes: this isn't every item, more unlock as you rank up via earning credits; and more items become available based on your purchases.

"Seriously Dan, what the hell does Master Chief have to do with all this?" Well, he's shown in the Armory image, as is Cortana, as is Buck from ODST and also the franchise's staple, Sgt. Johnson. What does that mean exactly? Well, Bungie doesn't even refer to it or even acknowledge it, so what it means, we don't quite know yet. Unlockable skins? Firefight Voices? Mentors? Spiritual guides? Prom dates? Your guess is as good as ours at the moment.

Moving swiftly on. As expected, the Hologram seen in the Rooster Teeth video on Bungie Day is indeed a genuine ability and Bungie had a few words to say on it this week.

"It’s simple to use," says the Bungie update post, "point your reticule where you’d like your holo-self to run and then press the left bumper to activate it. A spitting image of yourself, sporting the exact same armor, colors and weapon, will emerge and run directly to that point and persist for about 10 seconds or until killed. Your hologram can also do fun things like take a man cannon which can result in some crazy shenanigans. Holograms can be used in multiplayer, which has become one of my recent favorite things to do, in addition to tricking the AI in campaign or Firefight."

Holograms? Sweet!

Bungie also confirmed that the helmets of the Noble team will be unlockable by various actions in Halo: Reach and if you're lucky enough to attend Comic Con, PAX or GamesCom in the coming months, you can grab the Noble 6 helmet in the second image below.

Master Chief. Check. Holograms. Check. Awardables. Check. Now time for the next few achievements.

Bungie's philosophy on achievements is an interesting one and it seems that unlike certain other developers, recognise what they can do to players and how they can affect their game.

"Multiplayer Achievements sure are a mixed bag, aren’t they?" says the update post. "It’s pretty easy for a game to put out Achievements that have everyone running after a certain weapon, or getting into parties to ‘boost’ for Achievements. These can sometimes lead to undesirable outcomes." Yes, yes they can!

Bungie's philosophy then? Easy, to encourage people to try out the game's wealth of content. "We wanted to leverage the power of Achievements – they are something people will chase and pursue – to expose additional features, game modes and systems that players otherwise might miss out on," says Bungie.

That was all before dropping this week's newly unveiled Halo: Reach achievements of course, 5 of them, which focus on the title's multiplayer achievements as well as a few campaign ones. They are as follows:

Be My Wingman, Anytime – Let a teammate spawn on you 5 times in an Invasion Matchmaking game.
Skunked – Win a game of Invasion in the first phase.
What’s a Killing Spree? – Earn a Killing Spree in multiplayer Matchmaking.

The campaign ones, which may have a slight spoiler in them, so beware, are:

I Need a Weapon – Complete the 4th mission on Normal or Harder.
Your Heresy Will Stay Your Feet – Kill the Elite Zealot before he can escape during the 5th mission.
