Valve generally don't do Collector's Editions. Then again, they also generally don't do PS3.
Also, X36A, you do realise there's two other gameplay videos up, right? #2 & 3 show new gameplay mechanics. |

How about everyone stop bitching about what SYSTEM it will be on and enjoy the friggin GAME ITSELF???
Console wars are killing the industry. There's games I want to play on PS3 and games I want to play on Wii. One console would destroy the industry or everyones wallet but regardless, people need to stop bringing the console argument into an awesome game. No system is perfect, each has their own pros/cons and all of them are fun. It's personal preference. Get over yourselves and enjoy gaming.
Or is that TOO hard?

I DON'T like the addition of new characters! What made Portal such a great game was the fact that you felt very alone while going through the test chambers. It was you vs. GLADOS. It was spooky and overwhelming. The companion cube, the turrets, and the references to the Rat Man were enough to give you little hopes of other life.
I'm sure it will still be great. Don't fix what ain't broken. |

You must be the most boring gamer on the planet. You also have to remember that Portal was just a project pretty much "seeing what they could do" with the tech and engine.
They're not "fixing" it. They're upgrading. And technically, they're not so "new". They're personality cores or droids which are still active after the first game hence Chell being dragged off by "something" thanking her for assuming the Party Submission Position.
Who wants to bet dollars to donuts this mook loves it when it releases? |

lol Seriously though, I have to read and laugh at so many of these arguments. Console differentiation is fine but the Exclusives and the "This is better b/c of..." no it's not. It's something different. PS3 leans more towards graphics while Xbox begs for online communities and Wii is a family system.
It's really sad when these prepubecants or college bound know-it-alls go on and on and on!! You could be playing games and enjoying yourself instead of blowing all this hot air around. What does it accomplish? Have you made ANY impact on the industry AT all from this? If not - Shut up and play. |

@44: It's a sequel. They have to try make it better, and could you imagine playing the sequel without new characters? You've already connected with GlaDos and the main character, so you need to try to connect with someone else this time.
Toy Story 2 added more characters for you to connect with, Shrek2 did same, and just about every sequel ever made does it! It's just a natural process. The problem is more "how many new characters" or how much you connect with them.

It's the cold hard truth but everyone wants to act like they have some sort of "in" on something.
Shit, I'm chock full of opinions and post them verily but I don't enforce them. They're not facts. Opinions ARE like a$$holes but people seriously need to learn to wipe and stop dripping crap all over the place.
I could go on and off about what should be and what needs to be changed and blah blah blah and it doesn't matter what the point is, it's always "Posted by Internet Guy" to the reading party. I'm just mouthing off right here BUT i make an actual point. I like to debate and discuss things but there's got to be a closing or an agreement at some point.

This is a first day buy for me, i thought the voice sounded very similiar to Tim Roth, but Nick Fields seems a better guess. Wonder if Mike Patton will come back to voice on this as well

@ 51 - Fair enough. Selling out is a sketchy field for me. If I or whoever the target is, is at least entertained? Sell out all you want but don't whore it is what I'm saying. There ARE games though that really deserve to be enjoyed by everyone. You'd figure if an exclusive sells very well, they'd acquire rights to share it on all consoles.
The console is in general. If I point it at someone, it's going to be a message b/c that's an undending debate. The end result really is personal preference. |
