| i played the demo of this game and was not impressed. it seemed to have a lot less characters in it then the first game. the first was good. it was fun. could care less about the dlc for this game. if they make a third i hope its more like the first. for now tho....bring on marvel vs. capcom 3! |

| thats good to hear. i was thinking about playing it mostly for achievements but when i heard the dlc was gone i knew i would never play the game since i could never complete it 100%. now i can!! |

| i have to admit, this ruins the "rare" feeling of having done those achievements before the content was removed, but i'm happy for anyone who bought the game but couldn't complete it. with this and the upcoming ghostbusters patch, there's a lot for completionists to be happy about. |

| Wow. This has been a surprising month for us Achievement lovers out there! First we get word that Ghostbusters is honestly being patched. Now this? Hell, we get another free Doritos arcade game announced in the next couple months and June will be the best month of the year thus far! |

| I've already got 1250 on this game, but it's nice to know that others will have a chance to download this DLC again. The new characters are fun to use, but most of the DLC achievements are a pain to get. |

| It's about bloody time. As much as it sucks that it's only for a limited time, at least people have 6 months to download the content this time; not 6 f***ing weeks like when it was first released. I still say before limited time DLC is pulled, XBL should post some kind of message saying that they'll be pulling it. It would be in everyone's best interest. |

This right here is what was keeping me from buying the game.
I'll buy it now, and I'll get the DLC as soon as it appears. Psylocke and Carnage are two of my favorite characters and I hated that I couldn't play them before this. |

| Any word if the free patch will be available too? I doubt it will matter. I purchased this on day 1 way back when but my friend put it off (he also didnt download the patch) so we haven't been able to play it together so this has been on the back burner... glad to here it will be available again, if only for a short time (ironically longer than the original time... just saying). Sounds like they are paying the licensing fees for the rest of this year. |

| If a friend of yours has the DLC already don't get the it. You can play with them online as long as you got the one thing downloaded that allows you to play with others and will be able to get all the achievements. I did. |

Wow, this is a surprise considering the game didn't do too hot. The gold edition of the original is a pain to find, sad they arent putting that DLC back.
But still, this AND ghostbusters. Wow. What's next? My money is on either Monster Madness or something by EA. How about putting all your servers back up until 2011 guys? |

| Awesome, I really enjoy this game. It may not be the best game out there it sure is a lot of fun with a group of friends. I was really missing Magneto, my main character for Marvel Alliance 1. So to get him back is awesome. |

Wow, even though they have a reason for doing so, having this DLC with inclusive achievements available for only a limited time kind of ensures sales with the achievement crowd.
Now I'm not sure of the specifics and because of that if I were being a cynic, I'd almost say that Activision planned this.
1. Add content with achievements
2. Not renew the licences and take the DLC away removing chances to get the 250g
3. Offer it again 6 months later for a limited time
4. ???
5. Profit...

| Yes, this is some of the greatest news I have heard in the last 12 hours. I could have purchased it but decided to use my points on another purchase and get this DLC later. When I went to make the purchase, I found out I missed it by less then a week. I was steaming mad for months. |

if I remember correctly this site itself reported that the DLC was taken down because of some kind of license issue.
Here it is:

According to the article, Activision let the license lapse for whatever reason, presumably due to the crappy sales of the game even though Activision claimed it was "always" a limited time DLC... probably since they knew they were not going to option to renew the license and never actually told anyone it was going to be pulled. |

I don't know Microsoft's rules on DLC but I can't imagine MS knowingly allowing Activision to put up a limited time DLC especially if it included achievements. Are there any other incidences of this happening?
Despite the reasons for taking it down (I'm not disputing the licence expiry) it still seems like a sneaky attempt at DLC sales by Activision to me. I guess Activision has been painted as a money grabbing company in my mind at the moment! |
