First off I just want to say that the original dead rising is one of the best games on the 360 but clearly a lot of people just don't get it. I've read a few of you saying that you aren't going to get this game because its timed and because its not free roaming, well guess what it's both. If you just want to kill zombies (and to be fair, who doesn't) for hours then ignore the timer, once you have missed one of the event timers the game isn't going to end and it wont bug you with any other story events and you are free to kill, kill, kill. The best way to play the original (and probably the sequel) was to go out and have fun and just ignore the story, everything you do builds up your character in preparation for when you do feel like tackling the story mode. Don't let death stop you from doing things, every time you die you keep your level and you can just run out and start killing more things. Anyway I'll say sorry for this little rant but it annoys me when people don't understand how DR is supposed to be played as it is a brilliant game. |

Dead Rising is an amazing game but it was not an easy game. A lot of my friends couldn't get into it and well, it took me a 2 year break to finally get to the final ending. August 2006 I played an got 20 achievements, didn't go back to it for a FULL playthrough until August 2008 where I got 20 more achievements. It has its faults but I can't overlook the shear awesomeness of a Zombie infested mall with free-roam. Despite the time limit, save feature, small text, horrible survivor escorts, & Otis... it is an amazing game. When I heard that this game has 2P Co-op I got even more excited and I'll take it even if it is an afterthought addition to the title. I'll be playing my 4P Co-op Crackdown 2 in July up until I get my Dead Rising fix in August. Speaking of Fable 2's lame co-op, is Fable 3's co-op going to confine us to one screen? ANYONE KNOW? |

| @#31 - That's pretty naive. Maybe they don't have as much time as you to spare on games. Maybe they don't want to waste 4 hours on a game and lose their progress just because they failed to go for a "piss." Don't judge, lest ye be judged... that's a line from the Beano I think. |

i actually hope the missions are timed and saving survivors are timed.. it added more "survival" and the feeling that you cant save everyone. Makes you want to play the game more :D never had a problem with the save system in the first...dont understand how it was a big deal. Co-op looks nice and WTF a tiger? hahaha :) |

My problems with the first game consisted of "tiny unreadable text" and "timed game". Now, I don't mind that MISSIONS are timed... But I don't like having to wait for a mission to become active, when I can select it in my menu as an active quest. This left me with nothing to do a good chunk of time, or running quickly through areas with survivors just to get to the next story mission. I would say that the only way to improve upon the mission and time schemes is to adopt a new system. You can tackle most any mission at any time... But the longer you wait, the harder the enemies get. And some missions can only be activated after a set amount of time has passed from the completion of the last quest. Like say you beat a character and they escape. Well, they need a few hours or a day to recouperate or to set up the next plan, so you have to wait. That would be an ideal system of "timed" game. You could even add in a "best ending with under x hours" feature like some games have. But, no, we'll get "more of the same" with the timed feature, and the annoying factor of it. Nothing like waiting in an adjacent area for a quest to become active, because it won't become active with you standing in the same area. Nothing like having no quests to complete and waiting for one to be active, even though it's got a twelve hour window on it (when in reality it's a 2 hour window to accept it and the game never tells you this). That's my two cents. And this one is already preordered. Cooperative sold me. |

@14 Read the last sentence..... @34 THANK YOU. @31 Why dont you fuck off. Just becuase someone like myself doesn't like the save system in the game doesn't mean that they aren't a true gamer. By the looks of your gamerscore I'd say YOU aren't a true gamer because it's not high enough(even though your gamerscore means nothing about how you feel about games). My point is that you shouldn't say shit about others when they have thoughts about what THEIR opinions are. I'll have to end my rant there or I'll be stressed out for the rest of the day. |

| SUCH A SHAME, i was looking forward to this until i just read that the save system and general structure was the same. Prob wont even play this now. In a zombie game WHYYYYYYYY do they try to make you AVOID the zombies to go around doing other stuff. If you dont rush threw this area and get to the next case it goes cold and you cant carry on. On my save i was going around killing zombies (as you do) and forgot about the timeing on the cases, The case had gone cold (as in i didnt get there in time) didnt realise this, then went and saved my game and went out. Went to play the game again and found i couldnt carry on with the story. SO had to start again, i just sold the game. DR2 needs an Auto-Save. |

The only problem i have and will have is the fact that this game makes you rush through it in order to complete it. Yes, i like taking my sweet time with games of this sort. I like having the FREEDOM to tackle a few missions or cases in this game & then go kill zombies for no apparent reason for hours on end & then get back to some more missions/cases without having to fail them due to not getting there in time. Yes it sucks. The save system is of no concern to me because it was never an issue for me in the first game. Getting rid of the stupid 72 hour mode would have been the best solution. This is why i love GTA/Red Dead Redemption/Mass Effect/Batman:AA and other games. I can do story missions at my leasure & then do other stuff when i feel like doing other random stuff, then get back to story missions when i FEEL like doing them instead of being pressured to do them because I have no choice otherwise. |

| It's a shame that they still have the stupidest save system still in the game otherwise I would definitely pick this up. Played the first one for about 6 hours and just gave up because of the criminally stupid save system. This game looks great but having a horrible save system does not redeem a game. |

2 comments. 1: thos who bitch about the saveing, please stfu, don't like it then don't play the game, that simple. the creators make it for a reason, to be origional, not being avrage like every game out there. people like me, and aswell im sure other don't wanna hear your bitching or your opinion if its not worth reading. 2. This game by far destroyed the games in its year, and further zombie games that came after. |

@7 That's not true I live in Vegas, a tiger mauled one of the main performers, Roy Horn, of the Sigfried and Roy show. No one died in the attack though. @2 and everyone who might be wondering why there are tigers in the game, since Fortune city sort of resembles Las Vegas. The Mirage casino in Las Vegas has a white tiger habitat and a Secret Garden(tiger, lion habitat) and Dolphin habitat would be my guess. |

| @47 your correct in what u just said. Were hardly bitching. Im just simply saying that they ruined a good game all because of one minor detail which is easy for capcom to change. And to be honest Left4Dead kicked much more ass than this. Im not even a huge fan of L4D 1 or 2 but it was a better zombie game than Dead Rising 1 in MY opinion. |
|

| If they changed the save system they would have had to change the name of the game. It wouldn't be Dead Rising if you died and went back to the last checkpoint without losing any progress, it would be just another average zombie game. That's part of the games appeal imo, knowing that you have to go back to your last save and losing all your progress adds to the intenseness of being surrounded by alot of zombies, makes it more authentic. Also, even though you don't have to follow the story to continue playing the game it wouldn't be Dead Rising without the 72 hour time frame either. |

| The tiger screen shot is amazing, but I am still a little miffed about the save system. Even if it was to be a bit original, it just made the game a bit less fun than it could have been. I'm not super excited about co-op it was the massively overwhelming odds that made the original so much fun to begin with. |

I, too, dislike the save system in Dead Rising. Because of it, I reached Level 50 before ever beating the game. I'm one of those gamers that only saves when he's prompted to, or when he happens to run across a save point. And, honestly, you don't do that in Dead Rising. Save Points are in out-of-the-way places and they eat up a crapload of time to go to. And honestly, Capcom didn't want you to use them anyway, as the best way to get your 50 survivors achievement is to avoid the save points at all costs, because of the huge amount of time you lose getting to them and then getting back out into the main areas. Most every walkthrough you read on the 50 survivors achievement tells you to only save at specific points, because to do so anywhere else spells doom for other survivors later on. And who really wants to waste 2 minutes to get to the save point, when you could've been two minutes closer to the next survivor, next case, etcetera. On top of which, it's a four minute round trip, which is a LOT of time in Dead Rising. |
