Can't wait for this, loved the first game.Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 01:18 PM
Now, will those specific shards of shrapnel be traced so that the game knows where it enters the body of an individual so that health damage could be more or less depending on entry point? Cuz THAT would be sweet!Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 01:18 PM
im having trouble changing my gt on this site 4 some reason, everytime I click on "edit ur details" in "user cp", can anyone help? OT: im really looking forward to this, looks great.Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 01:18 PM

is this when the xbox will suffer because xbox runs on ATI and they dont handle physix well.Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 01:52 PM
Looks like this game could be worth the waitTuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 01:55 PM
@4 what does it say? mine kept saying insufficient privileges but then i realised you have to post 10 times in forums - this is not a forumTuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 02:06 PM
can't wait man.Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 02:20 PM
So PhysX would work properly on ATI GPU? Nice work Nvidia. The effects would be better on PC anyways so i think i'll stick with PC version.Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 02:40 PM
I'm sure the tech-guys developing the game know a lot more than the two idiots on here. Having an ATI chip in the Box will obviously not matter. Shaping up to be a great game. Definitely going to be getting this; loved the first one.Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 02:53 PM
sweeeeeeeeeeet!Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 03:02 PM

I can't wait for this one. Oh damn, now I want to play the first one again... Too many games to play!Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 03:58 PM
@10 yea thanks mate it worked :]Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 04:24 PM
@13 thanks for referring to me and the other guy as idiots. its just a common known fact that nvidia graphics handle PhysX better than ati and i was just wondering whether or not that will put the 360 at a disadvantage compared to the other platforms. maybe you should think about things before hurling random abuse to people. Remember you have nothing to prove, you are on the internet so stop acting like a five year old. cheers.Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 04:53 PM
I heard the first mafia game wasnt any good, is there any truth to that? I do have to say that all the media I have seen for this game has been great!Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 04:59 PM
@21 Whaaaaaat. The first game was awesomeTuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 06:38 PM
Looks great. Anyone happen to know if these are actual 360 screens though?Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 08:59 PM
#22 is right, Mafia was fantastic! Not only did you get a really great title that delivered all kinds of new ideas on the sandbox genre (sans the stupid racing portion :/ ) you also get a TON of extras once you complete the game. The value was ridiculous, and for the time the graphics and the tech behind the game was top-notch. I loved being a mobster in the classic prohibition era, so I'm going to miss that aspect. Everything here looks solid though, I just can't believe the number of potential hits we're seeing this year alone!Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 09:07 PM
The majority of the people who said Mafia 1 wasn't good were trying to play it like GTA. Mafia wasn't the kind of game that really permitted too much excessive over the top chaos and made you play a bit more realisticallyTuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 10:48 PM
I've been excited about this game since it was announced, and as time passes I am more and more reassured that it won't be disappointing! ... Can't wait!!!Tuesday, May 18, 2010 @ 11:49 PM
Hmm okay so they want to implement it now that the game's almost done?Wednesday, May 19, 2010 @ 12:28 AM
looks goodWednesday, May 19, 2010 @ 01:13 AM
I only really want this game this year. C.A.N.N.O.T WAIT.Wednesday, May 19, 2010 @ 03:13 AM
Mafia II is gonna be my good fella, my little friend, and I'm gonna say "Hello!" to it as much as I can. Damn, I want an orange now.. ~MONK3YWednesday, May 19, 2010 @ 06:13 AM
Question? How will nVidia physiX work on an Ati GPU? Guess its not my problem. But it will be if it ended up not working or hammering the framerate of the game. Guess, only time will tell. Other than that, the game looks sweetWednesday, May 19, 2010 @ 11:29 AM
???? This game not out yet ?? I see 2 player with the Mafia 2 achievement done at 1000/1000,so what the helll ???Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 12:57 PM
What the hell is this? PhysX is a PC exclusive feature (PS3 supports software emulation only). Only the PC version supports PhysX, and not only because the 360 has an ATI GPU, but also because its hardware could never handle it. All console games suffer greatly in terms of texutres, LOD, AA and resolution, and you want to add PhysX? He who wrote this should get some reading done.Tuesday, May 25, 2010 @ 09:18 AM
33 is partially correct...check out this link; http://www.destructoid.com/mafia-ii-makes-use-of-physx-and-3d-on-the-pc-173178.phtml and...an article that gives a little more info as confirmed with 2k which confirms all versions will use PhysX; http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/63859 So the console versions of the game will utilize the PhysX tech but probably only in software, and they will NOT use the NVIDIA APEX particle effects. PC is starting to overcome the consoles yet again...until the new consoles come out that is...and so the cycle rinses and repeats.

NVIDIA PhysX technology will be coming to Mafia II for Xbox 360 when it launches late this August 2010.
The tech creates more realistic physics and particle effects, so when you fire off your Tommy gun or smash a stoolie's face through a pane of glass, it'll splinter and shatter realistically.
There are three new screens to illustrate the impact of the PhysX technology on the game, including a car erupting in an orangey ball of flame, sending shards of twisted metal and debris flying through the air.
Dramatic stuff we think you'll agree.
