| there shouldn't be a cap as long as the achievements are justified. More DLC = More Achievements. Don't see what's wrong with that. And not surprised a game like Magic is the first to break 250. |

@ #21 I truly hope not. Well, at least if they do make it either end in a 5 or a 0. I HATE when games have something for 6 gs or 11 gs. Call me a perfectionist but I don't like having something other than a 5 or a 0.
And more on point, I too feel that games shouldn't have a maximum cap per se, but maybe a cap like 1000 to start, then 250 extra per DLC. Arcade would be similar I suppose. This would rock, imo. |

| @16 They probably won't let you do that. Because all the arcade game is is a simple task of the actual game. They have left out alot of confusing cards and rules because they look at it as a way to try to get people into the real game. If they give the ability to build your own decks alot of newer people would get pissed because they'd get blown away online by people who know what they are doing. I have a friend who can deck you in 3 turns with a deck of his. So it wouldn't exactly be fair to new players. |

Dawn of War II on Windows Games For Live already has 2000 gamerscore attached to it.
No console game has 2000 gamerscore yet, but there is a game that utilises Microsoft's achievements service that has 2,000G. |

Well just got it. Some interesting decks so far. Although I think my game messed up because of the updates or something. When I went to start, I had to re-download the whole thing, and now the campaign list is in a weird order.
It's not mentioned that there are avatar awards for this. One is a shirt and the other is a deck of cards that turns into a dragon that your character holds. That helped me hop the fence and buy this for sure. |

@32 yes, i beat that game awhile back. there's only 2 games I know of that have less than 1000 gamescore for a retail game - condemed 1 (970G)and lord of the rings: battle for middle earth 2 (705G). |

#30: I know all about DOW2. I wrote the FAQ on GFWL and update all the achievements for the site. As I said in the news post for that game when it updated, I think it being two full retail releases mashed together is a whole different situation from a game increasing through DLC like this and all the 1750 games.
But, like I said in this news post, I've given up on Microsoft having any sort of rules. Gamerscore has blown up way beyond their initial expectations and they're just going to do whatever they want if it will make them more money. |

Man, took me ages to get all those. What pisses me off is getting 100% on Dante's Inferno. Having it listed in the dash as a "complete game", then turning on the system the next day and seeing DI missing because some new achievements got patched in that I never downloaded a patch for. Some bullshit APs for the custom co-op maps fluff mode. |

now i can say that i miss the old days of 250 and 1250 caps.... this is getting out of hand if you ask me....
don't have the game, but why would i want to buy especially now, knowing i'll have to fork over more money just to feel like i completed it fully.
i have nothing against extra content... but i think its ridiculous for devs. to attach achievements to it just to get a few more sales.
i think if devs really want to add achievements they should make them all 0 pointers like Kameo. |

Why? Developers are businesses, and businesses are supposed to make money. If creating new achievements brings in more sales, the developer would be stupid not to do so.

I like achievements, but I don't buy anything just to get them. Is some DLC comes out and I am not interested in it, I don't get it anyway just ot get the 'chevos, so it does not matter to me if there is any kind of score caps or not.
I look at it like this: Each achievement stands on it's own. Each is a badge showing what you could accomplish and someone else couldn't, and the total length you go in each game shows how much you enjoyed playing and beating it. |

I will be picking this up though. MTG for LIVE has been a kind of 'Magic: Lite' that I have had quite a bit of fun with.

DLC achievements are horrible. I know most people here like the fact that more points are available, for me though, I hate the fact that you never know when a game is complete. Look at Mass Effect. DLC was brought out for it a couple of years after its release. It was 30 minutes worth of content, not worth the money. Yet it had achievements...
I have the 300 on Magic, and it looks stupid on my card. I say go back to 1000/200. If the developers want to release DLC, it has to be an actual expansion. Not these 10 and 20 minute rip-offs.

@51- No, I want it to change because developers seem to think it's ok to release sub-par content, due to it including achievements.
I want to feel as though I got my money's worth. No DLC I have bought fulfil's this need, except for the actual expansions. Shivering Isles, C&C Kane's Wrath, DA:0 The Awakening.
Can you honestly say you prefer these little thirty minute to an hour pieces of DLC, as opposed to full on expansions?

#53- This is the only bit of info from this article that grabbed my attention too. When I saw that leaked pic of Trials having 300/300 I was skeptical, but now that Magic has done it (wish Trials would have been first), we know more Trials is very possible!
