Here's What Your L4D2 DLC Achievements Are...

Sometime this week, Valve's "The Passing" downloadable content will be hitting consoles (and PCs) across the land. You know what that means, right? Details galore inbound.

In the first of what seems like two posts over on the Valve official blog this week, the Seattle based developer first revealed the achievements that The Passing will come with, revealing a few tidbits of new information in the process.

Firstly, the achievements show the trademark Valve originality (Wedding Crasher for instance), but they also reveal that you'll fight alongside the original survivors as well as a new mode called "Mutation." No word on what that mode is yet, but according to Valve, expect an update on Wednesday, presumably with the DLC's release date as well.

In the meantime, here are your achievements (without the point values): 

Torch Bearer
Survive The Passing Campaign.


 

Port of Scavenge
Play 5 full games of Scavenge on The Port.




Fore!
Knock off the heads of 18 infected with the golf club.




Til It Goes Click
Using the M60, kill 25 infected without letting go of the trigger.
 

 
Killing Them Swiftly To This Song
Play the new Midnight Riders song on a jukebox.

 
 
Wedding Crasher
As the Charger, grab a Survivor and crash them through 8 chairs at the wedding.



Cache Grab
Open 5 foot lockers.




Kite Like a Man
Kill a tank only with damage from the original Survivors.




Grave Robber
Collect 10 items dropped by a Fallen Survivor.




Mutant Overlord
Play 6 Mutations.

Sounds like a good piece of DLC, new campaign, new multiplayer maps, new game mode and new achievements, for less then 600 points.

L4D2 plays better in ever single way than the first game...but the characters are nowhere NEAR as interesting. Sure, they have some cool/funny dialogue...but thats it. I'll get this just cause I'm a completionist kinda guy...but I'll put the game back up as soon as I pop the very last cheevo...guaranteed.

I love the name of the tank achievement. A little shout out to MMO solo killing. (I played everquest for years, fear kiting was my enchanter's thing)
So I guess they'll be stationary (perhaps at the finale) and they lay down supressive fire for you. (this also means no AI during that part)

Have Valve ever made a bad cheevo list?

Also, Mutations? Maybe a infection mode (like the one in Aliens VS Predator) where if you die you turn into an infected?

#29, how was this not as good? Left 4 Dead 2 was nothing but an improvement on the first game, they only changed the setting and the characters.

seem way to easy compared to the chievos in the game itself. the wedding chair one and m60 ones will probably annoying, though not hard.

@ 29 - You must be kidding?

-Longer/persistant Horde attacks
-Melee weapons
-Weaponry variety
-3 More special infected for vs.
-Scavenge = FUN
-Multiple routes PER chapter in every campaign
-AI Director changes more map layouts/infected spawns
-Actual "story" progression
-The Bridge (it's a great addition since it's a straight B-Line for the rescue vehicle with obstacles)

Dare I go on?

The only thing I'll give the first one over this was the 53,000 achievement since it forced you to grind and play. I 1000/1000 L4D2 in a month whereas L4D1 took me over a course of months for that Genocider and Experts.
L4D2 was a cakewalk for the campaigns but Vs. is 10 times as fun compared to the first. While it would be a waste of money, I WOULD pay for them to port the old campaigns at least for Vs. Maybe they'll bring melee weapons and the new survivors in the upcoming L4D1 DLC.

From what I understand they are releasing the Passing for L4D1 but it shows the campaign from the L4D1 survivors POV and that is where one of your team has to sacrifice themselves for the others to escape. Last I heard it was to come out a month after the Passing for L4D2. I would think it would have 'chieves.
