Looks great... campaign will probably be awesome but...
FOR GOD'S SAKE PLEASE SORT OUT THE MULTIPLAYER!!
Can't EPIC just have a 2-4 week Beta? Something as huge as GoW needs a good send-off in its Multiplayer. I was left so disappointed with GoW2's MP that I almost gave up on it.
A Beta would sort out nearly all the major problems.
Perfect example... MW2 on release. |

some extra info----
- The "old man" in the beginning is Dominic Santiago; An Epic develoepr explained the aging as "A result of him taking Maria's life".
- The woman is Anya. The story behind her being a solider is that, in the GoW3 time period, any and all able bodied humans are fighting for their race's survival. More can be explained by reading the GoW Novels, especially Anvil Gate.
- Gears of War 3 will take place 18 months after the events of Gears of War 2.
- Cole looks significantly older due to his bandana; It is unconfirmed how much older, if at all, he will look without it.
- 4 player co-op has been confirmed. The campaign will feature 4 unique players at all times. Marcus, Dom, Cole, and Baird have all been confirmed as playable characters, and there will be more along th |

- The shotgun Marcus is holding is an, at this moment, un-named double barrel shotgun. According to an Epic developer, this new shotgun will NOT replace the classic "Gnasher" shotgun, and both will make appearances within Gears of War 3.
- The "Pendulum Lancer" makes an appearance in GoW3. It is the gun Anya hands to Dom.
- The tentacle based monsters are a neutral foe within the game; They attack both Humans and Locust.
- Anya, and possibly more female characters, will be playable in the multiplayer aspect of the game. |

On topic, i most probably will get this, although i think that GoW2 sucked ass, and this video is horrible. I do like the fact that there is an extra character, a girl. This will support the theory that Gears 3 will be 5 player Co-op which actually wood be fun regardless of how shit the story might be. GoW2's story did not get me engaged, and quite frankly i don't give a fuck about Maria. If you ask me the "Cole-Train" deserved to die. And that Samoan/Tongan guy was the best, why did he have to die? |

The biggest bit of intrigue for me is that the big tentacle beastie thing grabs a Locust, so combining that with events from the end of GoW 2 I'm guessing some three way warfare is on the cards. |

| I think that the last two games have been about Humans trying to save the earth, I think that this one should be more of a survival title. I read Asphlo Fields not too long ago and know what the pendulum lancer is (bayonette) but wonder why they have them. They stopped making them when the new model was released and used the old models for parts. I also hope they can pull of a better story line than the last two, not saying they were shite, but I think games with a better plot always are better in my mind (Bioshock?). Please beta the game and make it so chainsawing isn't the easiest way of playing! The tenticle monster grabs from behind cover so the CoG are pretty screwed in most situations. This trailer is EPIC, as is GOW. Everybody who is complaining about the multiplayer should play GOW 2 multiplayer right now, they fixed it, almost everything. It takes about 1-2 minutes to find a match and they fixed the lag. I've only had lag 2 times in about 100 different matches! The weapons aren't as overpowered as they are in GOW 1 multiplayer, so I don't see the problem.
@#49 I don't see why you would want this game when you think that way about GOW 2 and the trailer.

Hang on. If you have read the books, then you'll know that everyone who survived at the end of GoW2 ran off to Vectes, an island that was protected from the Locust via a deep sea trench.
Why would the COG go back? Why not leave the Locust to fight amongst themselves i.e. the Lambent vs the normal freaks. Unless i'm missing something?? |

Im hoping there's going be some bad ass three way shootouts. Towards the end of the tralier you can see all three races fighting with the Cog in the middle and what I presume to be Lambent in the back.

EPIC BEARD!
Good to see a chick finally make an appearance (Anya, yay).
Man, I think Dom has aged a lot in the 18 months between Gears 2 and 3. Admittedly he did lose his wife, and most of the time during the trailer he looked like he was wanting one of the locust to just kill him.
*POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING* I'm gonna take a rough guess and say that Dom is gonna die at some point during Gears 3. Just guessing.

I think they're all looking a hell of a lot older...how long after Gears2 does this take place? The woman looks like one pissed off Anya. "Stone humans" not so, ashed. Looks like they were fast-burned by a nuke or something weird that burns but no concussion wave to knock 'em over. Curious if it's in the game. |

This game is gonna kick ass. Gears has always been my favourite shooting game. I'm sorry, Halo fans, but the story of the rings pales to the story of loss and a real gripping feeling of doom.
What about the Carmine brothers too? Clay and D. (dunno his name yet) are still out there, and the Carmine's have always been my favourite characters...
Also, I hope there is no Seriously 3,0. I loved everything about Gears apart from THE STUPID AMOUNT OF FUCKING KILLS YOU NEEDED! But anyway, keep up the AWESOME work, Epic! |

And maybe I'm wrong but weren't there lambent wretches in Gears1? They 'sploded when you shot them like the tickers do in 2.

To everyone who's talking smack about the "women COGS" - Go read Gears of War: Aspho Fields..thought I'm sure a majority of you are snot-nosed kids whose parents are buying it for you - anyone else with a brainstem, check it out. Bridges the gap between Gears 1 and 2, touches up more with Tai and introduces Doms older brother, Carlos.
Amazing development of what a beast Marcus is from the start.
Also if you read carefully, there's a nice revelation as to who the Locust Queen might be...
However, I'm not really amped for it. The sequels SP was great but the MP ruined it. So buggy and full of kill farmers. Bleszinski isn't impressing me yet. |

Excited about this game. Judging by the looks for this trailer, its nice to see the character models have changed. Dom looks a bit beat up. I wonder what happened to him? Anyways, looks like we will have five player co-op in campaign, the way it was shown in the trailer (after all, horde was 5 player co-op and it was quite popular among Gear players)
Artistically speaking, the trailer was awesome. Rightfully called Ashes to Ashes. |

Another theory the way Dom was shown beat up in the trailer is that he might be looking for his kids in this one (remember the oart from Gears 2 where Maria is talking to Dom and says "The kids are at my mother's so we have the home to ourselves"). Got a bit thinking about it when Dom falls on the ground and looks at the ashes of a Mother holding a child.
It could be interesting. |

I loved the single player in the last two, but never got along with the multiplayer. Too many shotgunners slidin' about the place.
I'll still grab this on rental for the single player though. Always up for some locust killin'. |

| Looks good and all and I'll definitely get it but I really wish they made the characters believeable from the get-go. There just giant, blocky toy soldiers to me, and that goes for the juicing Locust as well. Gears has always been a solid game though, so this should be no different. |
