New Resonance of Fate Screens Show Off The Game's Nifty Customisation System

SEGA and tri-Ace's latest batch of screenshots for Resonance of Fate are keen to show off the game's pretty nifty customisation system; one that allows you to change the character's clothing, hair and eye colour, and accessories, and have it reflected in real-time during the cutscenes and so on.

This customisation system is designed to "provide a seamless and immersive experience as players’ costume choices are sustained throughout combat, town exploration and story sequences."

The customisable items can be found throughout the RPG as either pick-ups or as purchases from one of the game's stores.

The 13 new screenshots give a good visual representation of how this system will work in the game, showing off various different customisation options using the same cutscene.

If you want to see all 13 of the screens head on over to the screenshot gallery, or if that sounds like too much effort, check out the sample below.

Resonance of Fate is out this coming Friday in Europe.

Screen shot #4, L from Death Note?

And this should be a new thing for all JRPGs, awesome little touch.

At first the customization options in the game are MUCH less impressive...Basically, for each character there are three costume sets, A, B and C. The default costume is A, and you can buy a bunch of clothing items for it, but all they do is change the colour or textures on the costume...Basically recolouring what you already have. It's a really bad move to say you have customizable outfits when all there really is, is reskinning the same outfit.

B and C are completely different outfits thankfully, but they too have different colour variants of each piece.

It's a great idea and everything, and could really change future JRPGs for a much more appealing visual setup, but when you're too lazy to make more than 2 extra clothing models per character...Don't bother advertising the feature.

@#9 No joke.

This game looks pretty cool, more interesting than FFXIII, IMO. I may have to check it out.

@#9 I thought the exact same thing when I saw that.

This seems pretty cool, I haven't read to much about this game but but from #11's comment it seems it might pull a tenchu z (same outfit different colors) which is a bummer, but I'm still interested in the game ether way.

This is easily going to be far more enjoyable than FFXIII

Nice one square it may look good but it's NOT FUN TO PLAY IS IT!

Actually controlling your ENTIRE party & a DECENT combat system, R.O.F (E.O.E) FTW!
